Alright, I want to flash my treo 500, downloaded the my_rose for xda & extracted the .abi file to a micro sd card, and now..? Turn the phone off, & on again while pressing the down button on the d-pad? Nothing happens, also nothing happens while tyring to do a hard reset on the phone..
The phone sees the sd card, so that should be good.
your sd card should be <2Gb
At boot, the treo 500 will only be able to read SD card, not High Capacity SD cards. Be sure your card in 2 Gb max.

Dear all,
I notice the following problems with "Bluetooth Settings screen". When I click on the bluetooth icon on the extreme right hand corner it would take from 5 to 20 seconds for the setting screen to come up. This will only happen if I have an SD card (Apacer 256MB) inserted in the SD slot. I have SanDisk SD Wifi card, even with this inserted it would take between 5 to 10 second to bring up the bluetooth setting screen. This happens for both the initial firmware as well as the latest firmware from official XDA II site. FYI, without any SD device inserted the bluetooth setting can be activated instantaneously. This problem can be replicated time and again so it is not something that is caused by any program installed (tested all that even after cold reset). Does anyone know of a solution to the problem? Thanks.
Regards,
Kueh.
Its likely that something on the card is slowing your XDA down..
What apps are installed onto the card ? if you have an app thats constantly being run from the card it will slow the system down, maybe not as much as you say but it does have a noticable effect with large apps.
My Bluetooth options pretty much come up instantly unless i have a few programs running, in which case it sometimes takes a couple of seconds or more..
Maybe your SD card is faulty. If so, your XDA might be constantly trying to read something from the card and keep hitting an error which isnt made known to the user. What id try is to backup the SD card, reformat it and then see if it happens again.
Hi,
I have no application running from the SD card. All of them are datafiles, mostly pictures, wmv and microsoft reader files. BTW, how do I format the SD card?. Thanks.
Regards,
Kueh.
I dont think theres an option to do it within the XDA2.
You'd need a card reader or someone who owns one which can reformat the card. If you dont want to by one or know anyone with one, go to your local PC shop, they might do it for you.
I'm having exactly the same problem.... accept for it only happens when turning on the XDAII - if I do remove the SD card then the problem does go away!!!
Is anyone else having this same problem with the BT Settings ??
You can format your SD card with a ppc application called XDA-storagetools (do a google search)
I suspect it takes longer for the BT radio to start when you have a card inserted may be because the BT software is looking for a BT device in th SD slot??
I have the same problem too...If i want to reformat my SD card through card reader, do i just simply format it in the like of formatting, for example, drive c: ? I mean, just 'right click' on the SD card and choose 'format' ? Or do i need to use a specific software ? Thanx...
You cannot format a SD card from a card reader - windaz don't do it.
You need special software, try a google search for xda storage tools
Ok...thanx a lot. By the way, how do we know that a slower BT settings is affected by SD card ? Just my curiosity :}
I don't believe formating the sd card will make any difference.... just having the sd card inserted into the XDAII is enough to cause the problem.
Could it have something to do with when the XDAII is turned on, it has to read/regonsie the sd card first... and the BT settings has to wait for this to happen??
hello everyone, i just got my HTC Mogul (Sprint PPC-6800) and i love the device, except for the memory card i have is corrupt and i cant format it. any file i put on there, program, music, anything gets corrupted and wont work. I cant delete the my documents folder that is the only file on there and is what i believe is causing the corruption, does anyone know how to fix this?
Try formatting it on your pc?
Like he said, you might have to use a media card reader on the pc side to format it.
I tried that and it doesnt work on the PC, it says Windows cannot format the device. Any other way to do it?
put it in a camera? do you have an adaptor?
Might be time to go back to the store
SD Card Failure on Sprint Mogul
I'm sorry you've run into the same problem I have.. Its the micro SD card that has failed. You may be able to get a little longer use from it doing what I did but ultimately you need a new micro SD card.
I got one of the cheap chinese MP4/MP5 players that use SD cards and used an SD card reader with my micro SD card in it..
If you don't use this your PC will refuse to have anything to do with your micro SD card.
I formatted the disc with the player and then used my laptop to format it again to FAT32 at least 16 sectors. This woke the micro SD card, it still has I/O errors and it misbehaves a lot but its at last usable and its 2GB can retain 800MB. It will hold until I get a new card...
The moral is to save your backups to your PC so you can buy a new card and restore to it..
Hi All - I've got an unlocked 750 using it on T-Mobile. It's been working great up until a few weeks ago. It stopped downloading email. If I take out the SD card, the email downloads. Put the SD card back and once again email doesn't download. In fact, I can't even open the program with the SD card in place. The phone locks up. I've done multiple soft resets with the card in place and out.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Check out for SD card slot or SD card.
It is 5% chance to have that problem because of this but....
2 weeks no single SD card worked on my Palm.
every time phone notice me by some beep or sound but it simply does not recognize SD card.
I was planing to sell it for "couple of $" as damaged but i said to my self
"why not use it, it has plenty of internal memory about 50 mb. only i must to say BYE to mp3 or videos"
and once again i push SD card that didnt work and suddenly STORAGE CARD appears in File Explorer. I was happy
Now i try not to do open/close so much...
Viva la buggy Palm
hello,
i could not find any answer to my problem so I need to ask here.
After 1 and 1/2 years of using my mobile (O2 xda Orbit, WM6, tomtom6)without problems, since last week my 2GB sd card is not visible anymore. When I softreset the device a message comes up: do you want to format your sd card to make it readable? After formating the card, it is not shown on the file explorer. tomtom will not start. Things I tried already
- softreset
- several trials to remove and put back the card
- another sd card - same message as above
- use the sd card on my PC, works fine, writing and reading OK
- hardreset
Is this a software or a hardware problem.
I would appreciate all kind of help because I don't know what to do.
Thanks.
smell very hardware connector malfunction'ish
would try cleaning the slot
I already did. No result. Thanks anyway
Hey all.
FIrst off I dont recommend this phone. haha, that being said...
I just bought a 16gb microsd card for it. I was able to install it and transfer a bunch of tunes over. Then when I disconnected it from the computer, it has a little sd card icon with a sprocket at the top left of the screen and says "checking for errors". As a result, I dont have access to the info on the sd card > music contacts photos etc.
Its been 12 hours or so and this status has not changed.
Can anyone shed any light on this issue? Has it "farted" or do I just have to wait...
Thanks.
Have you tryed turning the device off taking the battery and SD card out then putting it all back and turning it back on, had issues with my phone not recognizing my SD before and it worked for me, just give it a try and see.

Thanks, but tried that many times...
I did try removing the battery and card multiple times to no avail.
I even sacrificed my programs etc through a hard reset. As soon as the reset completed, I have the same notification about the sd card.
Some details...
When I first inserted the 16gb SDHC card, the phone acknowledge its presence and I formated the card in the phone. It said there was over 15gb available... all fine...
I then was able to que it up with my pc through the USB cable and transfer about 8 gbs of music to the phone... transfer when fine.
Upon removing the phonne, it started with this "preparing sd card, Checking for errors" nonsense.
I am firmly convinced that there ACTUALLY is no SDHC support on these Acer Liquid E phones. My old 2 gb card that came with the phone works just fine and is back in the phone now. My only other option is to buy a 4 gb card and see if that will word fine, as 4 gb is not considered SDHC. then step up again to a 8 gb card (SDHC) and see what happens.
Does anyone else have a SDHC card in there Acer Liquid E? Does it work?
There is also NO help from Fido or Acer to work through issues...
Really makes me want to go back to the iPhone........ grrrrrrrrr....
Make sure that you formatted it to FAT32 first of all and does the card still connect to the computer using a card reader ? Why don't you try formatting it on your liquid by going onto storage and then unmounting it then format.

Thanks... no go though. At wits end...
Thanks for your attention!
When formatting in the phone, it doesnt allow you the choice to format specifically in FAT32 or other. I can only assume it is formatting in the proper system.
As for mounting and unmounting (what I feel this phone has been literally doing to me for the 6 months i've had it.lol)... as the sd card was stuck in this "checking for errors" sequence I had no access to mount or unmount the card or reformat again. These options were simply greyed out and not accessable.
I have not placed it into a card reader to reformat through my PC. I will try this step next and see what happens. I will have to find a card reader, or perhaps plug it into my camera as the card came with an sd adapter... see if that route will work.
Regardless. extremely user non-friendly phone here in the Acer Liquid E.
