Hi to all, is there a way to switch on the HD2 at a desidered time?
I mean: from the phone totally switched off is there some software or mod that makes it auto-turning on?
So battery life could be extended instead of keeping it turned on during the night only for make the alarm clock ring...
On my nokia it was possible make it to turn on automatically and make the alarm ring, I think it's strange that this cannot be done on the HD2...
Thanks for your answers and sorry for my english, I hope you understood anyway
bye
Try CT Scheduler. However, if anyone else here has any idea about other programs that can do this, let me know.
I'm looking for something that does something like this:
1. Turn on phone every 15 minutes
2. Leave it on for 2 minutes (so that calls/text messages can arrive)
3. Turn off the phone
Repeat.
Try G-Alarm
Not to sure if it have the wake up function.
SKSchema is simply the best.
You can schedule what you want on your PDA and it runs great on HD2.

I think this is technicaly not possible because when the phone is off it is not possible to run software.
If you desire it to consume the lowest possible amout of power you may put the phone into flight mode and ensure no background apps are still running.
Some software such as Galarm will turn the phone into flight mode over night and dissable flight mode in the morning with the alarm.
I use phonealarm,
at night I set my phone to automatically switch to flight mode, so that I receive no calls, messages etc, and it uses virtually no battery power, but the alarm still goes off in the morning, and my phone automatically switches back on
Hi, I've searched everywhere but can't find a recent app to keep my wifi connection on when my phone is sleeping.
There was a mort script knocking about for this, but it doesn't work on the new roms (am using Energy's latest build) and BSB tweaks Wifi awlays on just resets back to off after restart.
Could someone point me in the direct of of an app to keep my wifi always on?

WifiNoStandy, in my signature, does the same as the BsB Tweaks version, but also does it every time you restart the device, so if the BsB one works till you reset then this will do the trick.
WifiNoStandby

That sounds normal to me. Other ROMs may be better, but I doubt it. This is the reason that wifi by default turns off when you go into standby.
Anyone know of a brightness widget that will toggle between "Low" and "High" brightness, but also toggle back to the automatic brightness?
Most of the time i wanna use auto brightness, but when i want to change to high or low/off I dont like to have to go into the settings menu every time to change it.
Most of the widgets ive found have only gone through low, med, high, but no way to go to auto.
Thanks in advance

Check out the Android Power Control widget. It does exactly as you describe - but has the other power options on there too. I use it all the time.

that goes to auto? i tried it and thought it just went off, med, high...guess i'll try again
I just tested it out, and to the best of my knowledge, it seems that it does just do "off" "low" and "high/full" brightness. I tested this by looking in the settings under brightness after each click, and "auto" is never checked, the slider just goes up and down depending on which click its on.
someone please illuminate (no pun intended) this for me if you can...
Thanks

It does exactly what you need:
press once and brightness is off
Press second time and brightness in on auto
press third time and brightness in on highest
But maybe somebody knows if it is possible:
press once brightness in on auto
press second time and brightness is off
I was wrong, in power manager you can set birghtnees eather to auto, low or high!
So gbenj was right.
Thanks.
Anyone know of anything that can toggle to "auto" as well as low/high?

Woah! Dazzle is an amazing widget, thank you so much for sharing this with the community !
It does everything I want it to plus some more, except GPS. If it had GPS it would be the #1 app, until then it can sit at #2
Check out SwitchPro Widget.. does seven icons in a row and lets u toggle all sorts of stuff like Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, Sync, Airplane mode, Vibrate and of course brightness too. and it does lo, high and auto brightness.. Looks good too with a transparent background option..
FroYo does this by default now.

New version of Dazzle does GPS, great widget
Well guys,
It's been a long time since I realized my Nexus ONE was draining a lot of battery.
After some testing I figured out one of the most probable causes for that, Autosync.
So I started creating a proof of concept app in order to run autosync at a specified custom time.
On the other hand, I read some users in this forum talk about the possibility to monitor Signal Strength and disable APN if under a given threshold... so I did it (and added Autosync control on low signal too).
It is very useful when you work all day in low signal areas (as me).
Remember.. this is just a proof of concept... may fail a lot or never!
Search for it in the market!
Enjoy
IMPORTANT: Dont kill the app! Exclude it from memory savers (automatic tasks killer). And dont worry about memory or CPU use, it is negligible.
Update 23/08/2010
New Version 0.2. Hope you like it
You have to unistall the previous one (if not it won't install) because I lost my previous certificate . Sorry!!!

Interesting...will be testing
What a great idea!
But does this app use a lot of battery monitoring the signal strength and adjusting for this?
will this work on other phones too or just nexus at this time?
First testing i was able to change settings but it seems to fc on me. Using htc hero cdma on darchdroid.

It works perfectly on HTC Hero GSM in Spain with the android 2.1.
So I don't know... I don't have an American Hero.
It should work on every android 2.1 and 2.2 phone...

Dont worry for CPU(battery) drain.
When using Scheduled Autosync it just uses a few miliseconds of CPU for each Loop.
And for the Signal Strength monitoring, it checks it every 10 minutes and only uses (again) a few miliseconds.
If you have Spare Parts, you can check it yourself!
Wow! I instantly noticed a difference in drain even when monitoring it with adb. I'm impressed. What are you guys settings looking like? I am not sure how I should set it up. If I set the sync on for every 25 minutes, does that mean my phone will ONLY auto sync every 25 minutes? This app is long overdue! Thanks!
on my nexus if I leave the app and click on it again on the drawer, the app resets everything (settings, logs)

Yeah, would love to hear some other users' settings that are working for them.
Like maybe the cutoff for the signal strength level.
also, am I suppose to leave sync off?
congratulations for your job. anyway i have an issue with my nexus one. the app semms to work for about 5sec then all the settings are reseting and apn and sync are switching on even if my signal is below my previous settings. do you have any idea?
thank you.
spyinzedark.
Woo! I'm glad my thread on turning off data when signal is low actually made it into something! I'll try this out soon...

I would also like to know if I should be leaving androids built in auto sync off or leave it on? So far, I have been getting great battery with this set to
Sync options:
30min off
2 min on
Signal options:
-104dBm
-104dBm
I can't wait to see where this is going!
I also can't get my settings to save.. just resets after I exit the app.

Why are you reseting the app?
I mean, the app is meant to be always alive.
You should never kill it and exclude it from any memory saver task killer that you have. Otherwise it cannot work!!
Dont worry about leaving it alive as it only uses a very very small time of CPU.
Sooo... Dont Kill it!!
Just let me know your results
I am currently using:
- Autosync due to Timer 1h - 3m
- APN off if Signal less than -90dBm
It works nice!
Anyone think this would conflict badly with juicedefender?

I'm not using JuiceDefender anymore because it just seems to mess too many things up. That's just my experience though.

Should we be leaving the regular autosync on or off?
Is there a way to have Power saving mode automatically turn on when battery level reaches a certain %?
Or, have a shortcut created on notification tray instead of the Ultra Battery mode?
Guess there is no way?
Automatically I don't think so. Maybe if you're rooted and using something like Tasker or Trigger.

Add Widget - Settings Shortcut - Battery Saver - Open Widget and Set - Delete Widget.
Available Settings: Never; 5%; 15%.
They seem to have forgotten to put this in settings. Couldn't find it anywhere else.

Superb find!
Yeah, was using the z launcher from Nokia. So there were no setting shortcuts.
Found it in default launcher.
Thanks
This seems to be separate from the battery saving in Phone Manager. When it auto activates, the one in Phone Manager is still not activated.
No way to turn this off without the widget either once the battery is below the set %
Sorry but with stock launcher I don't find that widget. I am a bit confused
Short howto for stock launcher

Hi, I've enable battery saver with widget shotrcutut but apparently when battery reaches 15 precent saver doesn't start.
Any clue how it works on the P10? Because Battery Saver is not an option within the widget.
Yes unfortunately this widget is not present on the P10
Even with the latestest B162 firmware.... I am also looking for such a way to enable battery Saver
In the quick shortcut menu, there is one but for the Ultra Economy mode which is so pointless.....
There definitely is some sort of automatic power saver as when I bought my p10 it used to automatically turn on power saver when the battery dropped below 50%. The main bar at the top would turn orange to indicate that power saver mode was on. At the time it drove me crazy and I spent ages trying to figure out how to turn it off. Now I can't remember how I did it or how to turn that function back on. It was on Android 7.0 though and now I'm on 8.0a so perhaps it was a Google OS setting somewhere....
I installed QuickShortcutMaker (it's all one word, I think) and then went to add a shortcut.
On my Mate 10 Pro I searched for saver, and it offered the screen where auto battery saving would kick in at 15%, or 5% or never.
Battery's not low enough yet to test if it actually works, though.
That app is really good for revealing hard to find settings.
