I've been bugged by this for a long time now. I would like to completely disable weather animation on the Home tab, but while keeping the original wallpaper, which is just plain black.
This is not possible as you have to choose between weather and animated wallpaper...even though animated wallpaper can be a static one. You then can choose a static wallpaper from your phone or memory card. Problem is, never can you choose the original wallpaper...you always have to choose a different wallpaper.
And when choosing f.i. an all black wallpaper, it will never come out on the Home tab as nice as the original black wallpaper...it's always grainy. This is very annoying, as the weather animation is useless imo and takes far too long to end....during which everything is slowed down considerably.
I'm still hoping to find a solution to this, but so far nothing....anyone?

Hi all,
Does anyone know if it is possible to turn off the weather animation when the phone is turned on? It's quite impressive first but then it just hinders the phone's usability and becomes annoying. (to me at least)
thanks
Simple: when you are choosing the main screen background, choose the "animated" tab, instead of the "weather" wallpaper tab and the picture you choose will not have the weather animation.
Simples as the meerkat would say

Nice tip man, thanks! I just assumed that you could only have animated wallpapers when you selected the animated option. Never tried to browse different albums and actually bother checking! lol
Lazy me
So, I'm not very happy with the wallpaper options in this phone. I understand that, it's more of HTC Sense setting, but it doesn't let me choose home or lock screen. Plus, when I choose a picture from my gallery to use as a wallpaper, the weird crop square shows up and doesn't let me use the whole picture. What's up with that? Am I missing something? What do other people think?
The wall paper is ok but, I went to the market and downloaded city at night wallpaper and its a lot better for my tastes.

You should use 960x800 sized wallpapers. You can't select the whole picture because your iPhone wallpapers or whatever are the wrong aspect. There are some good downloadable wallpapers in the HTC Hub and there are a million wallpaper apps in the market.
Your wallpaper is scrolling as you swipe left and right to different screens, that's why it's square. I just use 1920X1080 wallpapers and they look fine.
Unable to set wallpaper without cropping a portrait-ready-made-wallpaper, it's annoying because i made the wallpaper myself, in the settings (in this case Trebucher launcher) i made sure i deselected scrolling wallpaper, wallpaper is 720x1280 and if it's cropped it's made smaller and doesn't fit the screen like it should, are they any apps that fix that? i found an app the other day but i uninstalled it since the icon sucked and wanted to get rid of it.
Ok I was annoyed about this as much as anyone else so I did some testing. Hold your homescreen, choose live wallpapers, choose Asus Myframe, choose settings, choose select folder or album, choose select photos, choose what folder you want to choose from, pick a picture, now while still in myframe settings choose effects static, slideshow interval 1 hour or whatever and check scrolling wallpaper.
Now you have scrolling wallpapers. I know it may use a little more battery since its a live wallpaper, but hey, works for me.
Thanks for figuring that out!
Not only did it make my favorite wallpaper image scroll nicely, but uses much more of the original than my ex-Prime's cropping method did. Couldn't figure out why Infinity's screen didn't use more of it with its larger resolution, but the regular wallpaper method used much less than on the Prime, plus it didn't scroll. Now in horizontal it uses the entire height of original and almost the whole width, in vertical also uses same/entire height but of course much less of the width, and both scroll perfectly.
I don't think the ASUS MyFrame will use any more battery than if it was regular scrolling wallpaper. All it will do is refresh the same image every hour but that's negligible. Great solution to a major (if only cosmetic) issue!

Glad I could help! :victory:
This is amazing, thank you! I missed my scrolling wallpaper from the Prime
How do i make it set the whole picture without scrolling along with the android pages. I just want to use my picture i took as a solid WP.
Awesome! I really missed this feature
I've been using projectM's live wallpaper instead of the static wallpaper, but that uses more battery I'm sure. Now I can have low battery consumption females again!

Use Picspeed wallpaper for that, choose what picture you want to use, then on the dropdown menu set as and use picspeed to set the wallpaper.
So I've not had a Samsung device since the S5, is it normal that I can't have a live wallpaper from an app (Let's say liveloop) on the lockscreen and a static wallpaper as the homescreen, as far as I've tried when I set a live wallpaper and then set a static one for the home screen the lock screen wallpaper changes to the default one
Any way to get past this?
Well, they are not called live wallpapers anymore. Just called video wallpapers. I use one of the ones that come with the phone and have a static picture on my home screen. Works just fine. I have tried other video wallpapers, but could not find one I liked any better then the one it came with. You can use the theming to get wallpapers, but it will usually change a lot of other things you may not want changed. I did use theming to be able to grab a wallpaper I wanted. Revert to default and then change to the wallpaper I wanted. Good luck.

My only problem is I don't want to use a video wallpaper, if I want to use a live wallpaper from an app like Walloop I can't have it just on my lockscreen, it has to be both
Not familiar with that app, but I am an old fart that really does not do too much messing with my setup any more. Sorry. Good luck.
Yes the phone supports Live wallpapers on the lockscreen. In wallpapers and style click on my wallpapers then on the 3 dots.
How to
Install the live wallpaper app, then go to my wallpapers the three dot menu and select live wallpapers and will open where you can select the wallpapers you have installed, you can apply as lock screen and homescreen or homescreen only.
