As the title,
is someone know How to add some shortcut of apps in the bottom of screen (system tray) ?
I knew there is a way to do this, like for example with battery status.
But I wonder is there another way, perhaps something to do with registry..?
Thank's before.
System Tray
"HTC TrayAPP" and "PHM Tray Launch" used to work for me.
However, if you want to show/hide Battery, Rotate or CommManager icons these are done by registry settings.
I try The HTC Tray App, then copy-paste it's key in registry and edited my self with pointed shortcut.
Thank's mate !
Case Closed.

Is it possible to remove the PocketInformant icon from the screen to enlarge this screen. But with out closing the hole program. I marked it on the pics.
Your thumbnail links to another thumbnail. Can you blow up the pic so it can be seen better?
So I hope that this time the pic will be bigger. How can I remove the PIM icon. This in red circle

1. remove the startup shortcut
2. remove the registries
3. use add and remove programs

Hi everyone.
I've just upgraded to the "full" 6.x version of Sprite backup manager. It works as expected, but the installation has placed a "backup" icon in the top title bar (... next to the connectivity, battery, etc. icons).
I don't want that icon there, and apparently there's no way to remove it in the program's "options".
Any ideas, anyone?
Thanks in advance and greetings from sunny (and hot) Madrid.

Probably, this icons appears because the program is active in background. Close the program.

Is there a possibility to move the icon of the upper taskbar to another position? I have searched, but nothing found. Today, I have tried Wktask. Its a nice littel app, but the problem is, I'm still using the HTC mini taskmanager of my touch cruise with original wm 6.0. When Wktask is started, the icons of both taskmanagers lying upon each other. If i press the icon, sometimes the menu of htc appears, sometime the menu of wktask.
My wish is to use both apps in parallel and it seems, i have to move the icons in the taskbar.
I had wisbar in the past for testing purposes and i cant remember an option to move icons, but i may be wrong.
Where do add-on apps I install store there shortcut pictures? I have one app who's quicklink picture looks way old and out of place, but I can't seem to find the picture on my phone so I can change it and make it look more modern.
Anyone know?
well, to answer you question, i don't know where they are stored.
but to change them, i use Change Start Menu Icon. works perfectly and does the grunt work for ya.
cheers.
I found the problem. The app is hard coded the start menu icon into it's code somewhere (like exe files on your pc sometimes do).
Anyway, I found where programs point to their start menu icons in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start\ProgramName.lnk
This app didn't have a Icon entry like some of the others, so I added one and pointed it to a Icon.png file I had made for it and placed in the same directory the program was installed in.
Powered off the phone and then back on and it's using the new icon.
The only problem I'm having now is making a png file with transparency that works as a start menu icon in sense quicklinks. The icon has it's transparency in the windows start menu and when I click to add a quicklink in the program list. But once added to the homepage quicklinks, the transparency section is visible. I don't understand it. viewing it in the HTC's picture viewer also correctly handles the transparent part.
Anyone have any ideas? Here's three screens showing what I mean. The WM screen, the add-program-to-quicklinks screen and the Sense home screen (running CHT 1.7.1):
BTW, here's the icon image if anyone want to take a look.

delete finch.png file: Application Data\HTC\ProgLauncher\finch.png
Change icon. Add Quicklink!! OK?
There's no finch.png in that directory. There is a program launch file "FinchSync_SP.bmg" in that directory.
The actual program and icon file are stored on my storage card at
\Storage Card\Program Files\FinchSyncSP
album.cache
finch.png
finchconfig.txt
FinchSync_Core.dll
FinchSync_SP.exe
InTheHand.Interop.dll
InTheHand.WindowsMobile.PocketOutlook.dll
syncinfo.txt
The default install of FinchSync has the program's icon hard coded, not a separate icon (png) file. If I delete the finch.png file, after a power cycle it goes back to using the default hard coded icon. Put the icon back and it does as I posted above, showing transparency everywhere except as a Quicklink. I've tried renaming the filename and then changing the reg entry outlined above to the new name and same thing.
FinchSynch is an older WM app, but I use it because I can sync my contacts and calendar with Mozilla Thunderbird, Calendar and Address book. I do not have or use Outlook to sync too, so I use FinchSync for this.
I found it. It's not a png file from that directory, but the bmg file.
So it was Application Data\HTC\ProgLauncher\finch.bmg
Once I deleted that, it picked up the new icon with transparency.

Since the launch of DINIK - Anastasia - MODS - By You thead, I have been very interested in switching over all my icons to the glass appearance. I ran into an issue last night when i went to switch the Garmin Mobile XT icon on my SD Card, JWD Icon changer came up with an error stating it can't change icon for a shortcut.
I have read the instructions, and i understand how to get all programs that are unregistered to update and added to the icon changer menu. However I cant navigate to my SD card and change Garmin's icon. I really want this glass icon added to CHT, in fact all my icons changed to DINIK glass theme in time. Please help!! any other Icon changers that are user friendly?
Also I've done a search for Icon changer, i've seen threads in the past, i can't seem to locate anything on xda. maybe there not tagged.

The JWMD Icon Changer are by far the best one... If you cant seem to find the Garmin Icon try to rearrange the icon by change the position on the start menu and then go use Icon Changer to change the icon.
It has something to do with it cant find it before you do that kind of stuff not sure why and only need do this on a few of the added icons.
Hope this was at least a little helpful for you.
Kind regards,
Rainbow86
If it still gives you an issue you can find the exe and follow the instructions on creating a new short cut ...
Create you a new shortcut in the startmenu and change that icon ...
Search the forum for info on how to create a new shortcut ...
i know how to create a new shortcut, its simple. even if i do that directly to my start menu. i get the error that icon changer refuses to change that shortcut
im having a simillar issue i think. I try to change an icon, lets say the bluetooth icon for example, i select the icon and select "change icon", but then i cant find any other icons to use. Ive searched the memory card and device memory but cant find them. I need to be able to see the extra icons so i can select which one to use but nowhere to be found. Any ideas?
