"1" on tray. How could I take it off? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hello, I formated my fuze, installed some programs as S2U2, QuickMenu, and later I saw that there was a "1" number appearing in the tray, as you can see in the image below...
It keeps everytime on the tray when the fuze is not sleeping, I don't know why, but before formating, it has never appeared.
How could I take it off?
Regards.
Henrique

As far as i know this shows the active phone number for phones or simcards that can have more than one number ... Maybe this can help you to find out how to delete this number

Omg... Since I formated my fuze, it has not appeared, but later I installed some programs, and it started on my tray. I am really crazy about this f****** thing on my tray that always disturb others icons... If anybody know, PLEASE, HELP ME to figure out this number one, or I will have to format it again!
I dont know about SIMs that supports more than one number, mine is not a dual-sim, and my fuze is working as worked before formating, I dont know why this number appeared.
Helps, please

heyy... I use just one SIM, why this `1` number???

What is Multi-Lne? How can I turn it off?

I have the same 1 on the tray, since I switched to MobileVikings (a virtual provider in Belgium), in my case it seems to be related to the sim-card I use and it is the line that I'm using (saw that when switching it under Settings > Phone > ALS > line2, might be a little bit different, it's translated from dutch). The stupid thing is I have no idea why there are 2 lines, the second doesn't work, so I'm wondering if I could delete this somehow...

i don't have this problem if i enabled 3g in comm manager, but once i turned 3g off it appeared, hope this helps...

So strange, because before formating, it worked always normally, and I've not changed operator or anything, neither the ROM, only reinstalled it, and now.. this f*** number is disturbing so much on my tray.
I dont want it anymore, ugly number one

Annoying o2 logo/ XDaIIi

All
I have an XDaIIi on the o2 network uk. The o2 logo is permanently displayed in the WA area and I do find it irksome and annoying. On my previous phone I was able to remove this by removing the o2 UI active interface application. On this phone this doesn't seem to be possible as it keeps telling me the application is in use, read only etc...
I have gone to Windows folder and deleted associated files but I cant seem to get rid of;
Windows/fonts/xpdr_o2.ttf
Windows/Mobile Solutions/O2ActiveUI/Modules/Connections/connections.exe
Can anyone advise how to disable this at all please so that I can clearly see the icons in WA that I want to see.
I have tried telling WA to ignore o2UI but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
All help appreciated
NB the beta version of Wisbar Advance works fine with the XDaIIi, a must have for any user and well worth the minimum cost!
did you look if it's started in the
windows\startup
and if so tried to remove that shortcut
Doing as RudeGear WILL work because it's exactly what I myself did last week.
No more annoying logo!!
I just removed "connections.Ink" from the start up menu and yes it does appear to have worked.
Thanks both!
Probably silly of me to ask, but why do they put that bloody logo there after all the unit is stamped o2 on the case, so why????
It's not a logo thing, if you tapped it you get a connection dropdown list, for GPRS or USB connections etc.
It's just crap, s'all.

Resco tools and broken IMEI

Got my brand new HTC Touch Cruise the other week and it was working great. I then decided to try and Geotag my photos which apparently is as simple as changing a registery value. So off I go and download the trial of Resco Explorer 2007 and reg editor from their website and change HKLM\Software\HTC\Camera\P9 »Enable« to 1
Soft reset the phone and then the phone no longer connects to the network.
(The geotagging feature of the camera worked fine too.....)
I uninstalled the tools, did a hard reset and reloaded the original ROM to no avail - the phone still refuses to connect to the network (Telstra NextG - Australia) which it was working fine with before. I have also noticed that when there is no Sim in the phone the IMEI does not agree with the one on the back and when the Sim is in it says the IMEI is "Not Support"
Any help would be appreciated, I'm missing my new toy already!
Do a Hard reset and your problems should be gone. Easiest way is "Settings > System > Clear Storage > 1234". Remember to sync your contacts before you do it and good luck
I'd already tried a hard reset and loading the latest ROM (Which was the same as the one it shipped with) but that did not work.
Just tried doing it again the way you suggested and it's still broken.
Also on further inspection my IMEI when it doesn't have a SIM in to is almost the same as the one of the back but just has an extra 01 on the end. It still says "Not support" when I have the SIM in it though....
All sorted out.... It seems it was an issue with Telstra(They said they had a brief outage, and for some reason my SIM didn't reconnect to the network until they gave it a "Kick"), not the phone that just happened at the same time as I was editing the registery. Talk about bad luck......

Yes so next time your Polaris not working so blame always your operator if the device dont connect, The imei cant NEVER chance with a registry chance what ever you do with the device the imei never changes, with that numbers you cant mess with
you said the imei changed when you have the sim card inside and evidently you couldn't connect to the network because of that... so deosn't that implys there's a 'possibility' that bypass the hardware imei by doing something to the sim? we might be on to something here guys..

SIM Failure

A couple of weeks ago my phone started generating an SIM error message at startup.
I then changed ROM from the Orange WM6 to the latest HTC version, and since then i get the same error message.... Missing or invalid SIM please contact you service provider....
The weird thing about this is that I still get the error message, I clear it twice, and it asks me for my PIN and continues to work just fine... I thought that changing the ROM would sort this as I just put the error down to some sort of OS problem initially.
Anyone else experienced the same of similar issues?
I replaced my SIM to see if that made any difference but that hasn't changed a thing either...
.G.
the same here. don't know why..
hi! ive had alot of experience with phones giving similar errors. found its one of two reasons..
1) the phone is blacklisted. its weird but blacklisted phones works sometimes and other times it gives some sort of invalid sim error.
2) the sim is just simply not making proper contact with the metal pins. in nokia phones i usually just put a small piece of cartboard or thick paper in between the battery and the sim and the pressure forces the sim closer to the pins.
dunno about vox tho. put its worth a try
I get the same problem, with an O2 SIM card in a HTC-branded S710. Sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn't.
If it happens while turning the phone on, then I find that all of the sounds are playing faster than usual also (things like message and call tones are high pitched). If I go into Comm Manager, put it into flight mode and back out again, it not only finds the SIM card properly but also fixes the sound issue.
I wonder whether it's something to do with my SIM card possibly being a USIM card instead, since it says "O2 3G" on the card, but of course, the handset is not 3G-capable.

My excalibur (HTC 620) phone has exactly the same symptoms with a USIM (3G). It has no problem with other 2G SIM.
I am not sure whether it is something with the ROM. I flashed my phone with wm6.1 rom cooked by Kavana.
I had the same issue with one of my 3G SIM's. Eventually I didnt know what else to try so I got a SIM swap and thats solved the issue. Not a single problem since then

There is a number "1" on my taskbar

All of a sudden I notice a "1" on my taskbar. What is it, how can I remove it?
I've lost the ability to view my Wi-fi signal since this number is using it's spot.
Cheers,
Paul
i've never seen that before.... can you load a screenshot?

Here it is, notice left to the EDGE Icon.

Maybe it means that line number 1 is being used, I used to see that on Nokia phones but never on a WM device...
Dual line or sim card
Hi
I think that WM can display this number if it thinks you have a dual SIM card or two lines on your SIM card. How you might change lines, etc, I have no idea. I don't think the feature is fully supported in WM.
Cheers

Did you try to modify icons in the taskbar from the mui files? Cause if you did, maybe something got messed up during the change. When did it start? Was it at a random moment, after you up/downgraded your Rom, been happening since you got the device?...Also, does it keep on happening if you soft reset.
Nope, didn't try to modify anything in the windows / mui's, only once i installed the HTC Call Recorder, since it didn't work i uninstalled that, but that was in november. This happened in random about 3 days ago...i thought it was like an updated "voice mail messages". It hasn't gone away. It stays after soft resets, i even searched through options in advanced Config.
Paul
OK. Get a file explorer that lets you view hidden files, such as Total Commander. Then unhide all files. Search for image files, probably a .bmp. Find the image that looks like your number 1 (it'll look different, probably black and white), and find what folder it is in. That will give you an idea of what program is using the file. If it is just in the windows directory, find its properties IE when was it installed there. That might let you narrow it down to a day. It's a hard work around, but it should work.
Apart from Dual Sim, I don't know of any program that would put a 1 in your bar, except for 1xRTT.bmp.
Where should I unhide the files? Windows Folder?
Paul
THe "Unhide files" option usually unhides files across the whole device, not folder specific, much the same as in Windows XP. There may be other options about which files to unhide, you want to unhide ALL of them, including system files.
understood, but where would i seek the "1.bmp" file per say....
You would need to use the search tool and search for ALL .bmp files. And if it is not there, than ALL .png files. And if it is not there than ALL .jpg files. And if it is no there than ALL .jpg files. It shouldn't be any other extension. You would have to search through each group of images until you came to the one which you are seeing. It's a long drawn out process, but should solve your problem eventually, or at least provide you with a little more information on what's going on.
UPDATE
Here is an update on my issue:
When I turn on my Bluetooth, the number goes away.....but when I turn it off, it reappears. Will do the searches now from work.
Paul
I also have a number "1" in my task bar now. I recently changed providers and it apeared when i insertet my new sim-card. Using wifi, bluetooth or other program that creates a taskbar icon makes the "1" dissapear. I have no clue what it means or does. :/

Nexus 5 SIM not recognised

People,
I hesitate to ask the question again, but I promise you that I've read everything on the subject that I can find (including many of the 171 pages of the "Nexus 5 Flashable Modems and EFS Backup" thread...) and also on a lot of other sites.
My son's N5 on 5.1.1 ran out of battery a month ago (it worked perfectly for the 15 months that I had used it) and when he recharged it he'd lost mobile data. He had the mobile service triangle in the notification bar, but empty. No service.
I have tried absolutely every suggestion that I've read. Airplane mode on/off. Flashed 3 older radios. Installed older Lollipop & Kitkat 4.4.4 from Google Nexus factory image site. Installed the latest nightly of Cyanogenmod. Installed MPZ79M. Rooted it. Nothing works.
I don't believe it's a hardware problem - when I remove and replace the SIM the notification goes from the square with a diagonal bar across it ("no SIM") to the empty triangle. But as soon as I reboot (not just screen off & waken, but full restart) the triangle is replaced with the "No SIM" square again. The same reaction happens on the initialisation after a factory reset - at the "Register SIM" screen it says "No SIM", but extracting and replacing the SIM starts the "Attempting to connect to service" sceen, though this just does nothing until my patience runs out and I skip it. The SIM itself has 3 scratches along it, so all in all I don't think it's a contact problem, but something in the software. The SIM works fine in the Nexus 4 that I've given him.
EFS - I don't know enough about it still, but the phone displays the correct IMEI, so I'm hoping that this means that the EFS is not corrupted?
I know that this is a well-known problem, but on the off-chance that somebody has read a solution that I haven't found...
Thanks for your patience and any help you can offer.
Oh well...
...I guess I have a £350 paperweight?
I suppose at least I can use it as an entertainment console, since wifi seems to be ok. But a terrible shame to waste such a beautiful device.
Maybe you already tried it... Just to be sure:
a) You have incorrect APN configuration, to solve this try resetting your APNs via Settings > Wireless & networks > More > Mobile networks > Access Point Names and then click in three dots above and select "Reset to default".
b) Your mobile phone antenna unit is not working properly, solving this is pretty easy, shutdown your phone, remove your phone's back panel very carefully (using a plastic material..i did it using guitar pick) and then you'll see two wires adjacent to edges of your phone, just remove and refix them gently and reboot your device.
c) Reboot in safe mode and try to play with the preferred network type.
d) I had this problem "No service and no signal network in nexus 5" after restarting phone.
I tried to restart phone few times again and reinsert sim card. No luck.
Then I took sim card out while phone was on ( I forgot to turn it off) and reinsert it and now it's working fine.
It must be a contact problem. Just not shure how long will it work.

Thanks, Primokorn, I'll give your suggestions a go - appreciate the ideas.
I have tried the APN settings, but since there's no SIM (huh!) it's greyed out, though it's temporarily updateable if I extract/replace the SIM while the phone's on - but it's grey again on the next reboot.

Primokorn,
No luck. I tried all of these with no result at all. It looks as if this is a very serious flaw in the Nexus 5 - I had my doubts, to be honest, when my son said it started after the phone ran out of battery, but I see exactly the same explanation from other people in the huge number of threads reporting this no-radio problem. How can Google issue such a good phone with such a lousy bug in it...? No point in even asking them (though I've seen at least one person who tried with an impressivly helpful response from the Google support person) since not only is the phone out of warranty but it has been rooted.
Oh well, I enjoyed it while I had it...
