okay im using hku 070...What settings are everyone using?
theres:
Glyph cache (im using 16384)
file system cache (auto)
file system filter cache:8192
i've been playing around with a few diffrent settings...the higher up on the glyph and file stemfilter i go...the faster the device is...but it seems a lilttle unstable and slow to respond when turnign on...the settings im running now seems a bit faster than stock settings...but still reliable. thoughts?
Hi
Do you set these value by simple registry editor? or another tool?
I found GLYPHCACHE KEY in the registry, by a search but for the 2 others category what are the name of the keys to change ?

\HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS\EnableCache
\HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS\CacheSize
are the two for file system
not sure about the filter one
Ah... i found these keys
but what you try to mean is that sk tools allow you to modify directly these settings without do any search in the registry? right?
because in taht case the best i can do first is try sktool, no?

To run it well, requires net compact framework v 3.5. Make sure you have this version.

I want to use a reg file to change the following registry value:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MUI]
"CurLang"=dword:409
Want to change to 816
I know that I can manually change this value using a Registry editor like Total Commander, but what I want to do is, with single click in the reg file in attach located somewhere im my device change this value.
I am trying to this with no luck, the device ask me if I want to import, I say yes but nothing happens and the value is the same as it was (409).
I am doing something wrong?

Hi I'm not 100% sure but your reg-file says:
Code:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MUI]
"CurLang"=dword:816
I do it with an regfile to (fully automated with sashimi) and works so fine
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MUI]
"CurLang"=dword:00000407
Hope this helps!
Hi everyone
A few days ago i bought a Samsung C6625 (Valencia). The thing that looked nice on it was the wizpro theme and i whanted to see if i can modify it.
I finaly found a few information about it, but still i dont know where to start
Is there anione here that could take these files and see what cand be done?
If there are other information needed i would gladly give them Just tell me what to do.
The atached archive contains the dll file i found reference to in the registry. AdvHomePlug.dll and the theme xml that lead me to the registry clsid key.
What sort of modifications ur looking at?
You can use resource hacker to extract and edit the images in AdvHomePlug.dll. Those are all the interface images including the leftbar menu and the main window, contacts, wmp, etc...
All images are in PNG Format. U can extract and replace. If it is theme colors its in the voda xml file. I dont see any digital signatures on the dll and mui files you posted, how did u transfer the files? normal copy or ROMExtractor?
If you didnt do normal copy these require digital signatures before copying back, search xda how to self sign apps. Also it helps if u app unlock ur phone.
I copied the file normaly using explorer. About the modifications... I`ve seen on other samsung models the same wizpro theme but with different arangement of tabs.
And i was thinking maybe there are some mods for this like with chome just asking i dont know

I dont have the phone on me to check it, maybe tomorrow i can borrow it, I do however remember some regitry entries for playing with tabs, its been a while since i had this phone. check under HKCU\Software under mpharos or samsung.
I found those registry entries but i can only modify images for the theme. Are there any other registry entries where i can modify things like... plugins that show up, the order of those plugins, things like that?
Could you please dump the registry key HKCU\CLSID\{583AD178-223A-4bcd-AFBE-EBB50536F8BE}

That registry key just points to dll file.
Code:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{583AD178-223A-4bcd-AFBE-EBB50536F8BE}\InprocServer32]
@="AdvHomePlug.dll"
I have attached the whole Wizpro OEM package.
Is there some way tomake it available for 176x220 screen?

Wizpro does not works on BJII - I have tried cooking it in ROM, but nothing happens - just a blank screen with background picture. Maybe some drivers are missing. Haven't figured it out yet.
Problems
I have a Samsung i637 phone.
I have problems with Wizpro. When I receive a sms, I can read the sms, but when I try to return to home page (wizpro), I can not see it.
After some minuts, the wizpro does not appear, and instead appear the message "Anything home screen theme was found".
I have unlock security in the phone.
I have changed to multimedia home screen, but I need use the Wizpro.
What could be cause this problem???

Hi XDA ppl,
How to delete a registry value with a .reg file? The standard hyphen approach doesn't seem to work. I tried it like this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test]
"TestItem"=-
This should delete the TestItem but it refuses to do so. Does anyone knows the trick?
I don't know how to do it with a reg key, but you can do it this way with a mortscript:
Code:
RegDelete("HKLM","\Software\Test","TestItem")
here you go!

Sounds odd! can you tell me the heading of your provxml file? it is xml or provxml? what tool do you use to import? can you post the actual code of the file?
Hi, usually I create a cab file from .reg files with CeRegEditor (ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl). If I create new keys/ values everything works just fine. Just deleting doesn't work.
In the end I installed the kilmist registry editor trial to double check cause it can import .reg files directly, but its the same problem: deleting doesn't work.
Here the exact code of the files I tried:
-- File 1: create a test key with 2 values... works fine ------------------
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test]
"TestItemOne"=dword:00000001
"TestItemTwo"=dword:00000001
-- File 2: try to delete 1 value... fails ---------------------------------
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test]
"TestItemOne"=-
-- File 3: try to delete the whole key... fails too ----------------------
REGEDIT4
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test]
your files seem ok.
while you find th solution I recommend to add postxml to your cab to delete the unwanted keys. nocharacteristic and nopar should allow you to delete whatever needed.
two hints: check the encoding of the files and check the order. make one cab for the additions and another for the substractions just in case the cab tries to delete the key before it is created. sorry i can not help more !! please, pm when you find what was it
Try:
Save your .reg file as Unicode not ANSI, start your .reg file with
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
In the first line. And leave one blank empty line at the end of the .reg file.
Did it work?

Nope, doesn't work either.
I put Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 in the first line, encoded it 8-bit unicode and made sure theres a blank line at the end (always did that). all to no avail.
Btw, I'm running WM 6.1 on a TP2. I really wonder if its working at other phones / WM versions, or this is a "universal" problem.
thx anyway, Tobias
I had an AT&T focus S this week, i dev unlocked it, install alot of programs, now I want to edit reg string but I can't :S, i can view the string in the reg editor, but i can't modify it @@, plz somebody help me onthis.
