Hi there, I just saw a friend who have an iphone and he had a movie as the background of the main screen. is it doable in our Leo?
It is possible to put an animated background in the Leo.. it's a built-in feature!
Having a custom animated background is another question. I think it's possible but a PC tool needs to be made.
A custom animated background is something I would like to see. But this is not the first post on this topic and it seems as nobody has a solution.

is there a way to have the main background wallpaper animated? i know thers the s2u2 program that allows its background to house gif's but for the main wallpaper is it possible? i tried setting the background as a gif file but it didnt work any help?
I dont think it would be able to handle it..They have to be still images.. plus it would kill your battery life...
Not to be mean, but this belongs in Kaiser General.
Yes. HOWEVER, The ability is not native to WM. You'll have to use a today screen plugin that will allow for Flash themes.
There are a few programs/plugins out there that will allow you to create/use flash animations & themes with embeded falsh animations for your today screen.
Search for Animated Today or Flash Themes & Flash Themes Generator.
I've been browsing websites home to UIs, theme makers, and forums like XDA... however I can't seem to find a UI or app that allows me to create or use animated themes.
By animated, I dont mean blinking backrounds, or car wheels spinning as your background picture.
I mean a theme that's buttons actually are animations or movie clicks.
For example, if you have a new text message, a banner will slide onto screen.
I have seen the wm7 themes for Throttlelauncher and WAD 2 have animations when some things are clicked, but from what I know, it is based on a code that blinks the images quickly. I could be wrong, or have no idea what I'm talking about.
Anyways, could anyone out there refer me to a UI that allows this, or a page that shows me how? Thanks!
Is it possible to have a slideshow in the background of the homescreen or as screensaver?

Auto changing wallpaper
I've seen some software on the XDA forum that auto changes your background images by selecting the folder you assign containing all the images you wish to use.
Haven't used it personally, but seemed like a good idea as most of us are used to doing this same thing on our desktop OS's. Would be nice to see this feature built into CHT, as it seems such an issue having the correct size now and assigned image for all tabs and lock screen etc
[^_^]
thanks for the reply fazz, so there is software that is able to do that. I use SPB shell atm and I can set one picture, but I'ld rather have a slideshow in a box on which you can edit the size
any news regarding this item?

Simple reason is it would kill your battery. Also it would take a re-write if the android coding.

is it?
is it beacuse of battery only? we have many battery killing apps but we still do install
Did you miss the second part of my post? It would take a big re-write of the base android code as well as all the launchers would have to be redone. Causing launchers to eat tons more ram.
