hi friends, i have 2 vox. the first one is working fine with fhm's official rom
and
Another one is not booting i just got it frm my friend who was not using it, so he gave it to me.
the problem when i connect the charger, it shows solid red led.
and when i remove it frm charging.... no led nothing. It does not even boot
The battery is fine i used it on my first vox
i tried swapping the battery but no use.
i showed it to the repaire, he says that it needs to be software washed and charge would be around 1500 Rupees. thats too much.
what does sotware wash means it might not be flashing
cause we cant flash it until it boots.
Plz........ someone help me to make it work so that i can gift it to my brother. its in a brand new condition
thanks in advance......

If you turn it on check the sim slot and check if the battery gets warm.

flashing and booting is described by wiki page - works, just read and do it
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=vox_sdcardflashing
from pc copy rom image as vox0img.nbh to sdcard
then insert this card in pspc, then after pspc reset press camera and hold, insert power jack in usb - wait a while and execute onscreen commands
CID lock - it was decades ago, so I don't remember how it was done exactly - I have send email to france-telecom - and they send me CID unlocking app.

there is no problem with the sim cover, when i turn it on there is no responce battery is not warm.
yesterday i opened it and saw tht the flex strip which connects the display with circuit is little bit torned, is it because of that? but it should only affect the display nt the phone.

yes I can read, I was trying to figure out what you were saying. I know there is a language barrier, but damn!! "Guys Help Me.i Need To Brick My Phone"
Why do you want to brick your phone?
you spelled my nickname wrong lol.
OK, first ..i don't want to help you brick your phone before i'm convinced yo cannot repair it instead.
If you want help, please do the following and report back what you have found.
1. Reinstall Active Sync
2. Reboot your PC
3. Turn OFF your phone completly, pull out the battery , insert it back
4. HOLD the CAMERA button and PRESS the turn on button ..it should take few seconds and you should see the BOOTLOADER (3 colour screen)
5. Plug in the USB ... you should hear a short sound and that's it.tho not necessarily.
LEAVE IT LIKE THAT, don't try to turn it on or anything !!!
Next step differs with your phone.
IF YOU HAVE G3
* Start the Rom Upgrade Utility of the T-Mobile 2.26 ROM
IF YOU HAVE A G4
* Start the Rom Upgrade Utility of the Wizard Love Rom

LOL... That would void the warranty though as they can detect water damage.
I don't know if this will do much, but find the thread on unlocking the extended rom. Then go and screw around with stuff in there (or I think TotalCommander lets you get to it alos and will corrupt it if you try to write to it). Then hardreset your phone. While the main os will be ok, your extended rom won't work to do the phone setups. Not sure if thats enough, but its a thought...

or u could just flash anichillus' rom it should brick..
.
just try messing up ur ipl spl but if ur with tmobile make up a lie they'll send a new phone
hmm...what happens if you try hard resetting the phone (comm manager, voice recorder + dot on the side) and pull the battery out here and there while it's in the process? maybe that could mess up the os installation or something to get things looked bricked?
or try using wm5torage, make the phone memory writeable, and see if you make it look like the phone is busted...but then again a reset of the phone fixes that solution.
maybe also try overclocking your phone to something high...maybe try to burn out the processor?...keep the phone in warm place at the same time?
alternatively, try banging the phone on the ground a few times...a bit hard...try to put some padding around the screen...but if you bang enough times...maybe the it'll eventually shake something loose from the internals of the phone...
btw, if the mini usb doesn't work, how do you charge the phone anyway?

Unless he has UNLOCKED it!!!! AHHHH!
But seriously if the USB is broke the battery will die... they won't be able to charge it.... they should replace it. Are you worried they will try to repair it?? then just flash your OEM ROM.
Will they check to see if it is UNLOCKED?
it is unlocked.and i already send it.i used total commander.i wiped out half of the windows,,now when i start there is nothin in the menu that shud do it rite?
GOOD Luck!! Let us know how it turns out!!
At the risk of adding to this deception, I don't know of any carrier that even thoroughly checks the phones that come back. Just send it in. You'll get it replaced, I'm sure.
Good luck to others...may never be in my position ( I love my phone ) ) ...and if you will be try to resolve without pulling the battery out ... so:
0. install HTCDriver 3.0.0.007 ( http://www.multiupload.com/PL3UPDRFJJ ) ( http://www.filesonic.com/file/1588217304/HTCDriver_3.0.0.007.exe )
1. if you are seeing white screen with HTC in green, you are connecting through USB and you hear a PC sound maybe is your lucky day.
2. install android sdk ( http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html)
3. in SDK Manager > Available Packages > check all
4. in cmd (windows key + r = run > write cmd) go to android-sdk\platform-tools (cd to this folder) and write adb devices . If you see your device is good
5. write adb reboot recovery and your phone will be restarting in your CWR and then you can restore/fresh install another ROM. Thats what I did.
If you`ll ever need an restart try first to:
RESTART WITHOUT PULLING OUT THE BATTERY
keep pressed volume up + volume down + power until is rr-ing
RESTART WITHOUT PULLING OUT THE BATTERY
SOLVED with happy ending.
ps: whos is in similar position first install HTCDriver 3.0.0.007 then android sdk ... in cmd write adb reboot recovery and you are in RECOVERY ! so don`t PULL out the battery !
Congratulations, bet that was a relief!

can only damaged my phone wen i pull out the Battery, wen i have a faulty emmc chip?
Or can it damaged only wen i get root the device or so...??
In this case, it's just soft damage. There's nothing you can do in case your eMMC is broken.

And you can break your eMMC if you are pulling the battery out in this situation. Btw I have faulty eMMC on my DS search on Desire S here and see there are 2 chips...1 faulty one not and if I would removed battery on boot hang I would f...ed my phone.
update: look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150917 "i finally confirm that my htc DS was bricked by an accidentally freeze and the immediately battery pulled-out-&-pushed-in unstably"
I checked some time ago and I have SAMSUNG104 (which is damned ...) so "In this case, it's just soft damage" could become an hardware damage If you are in a hurry and your pulling the battery out.

Hi I just got my inspire 4g working more than fine but the android version (Gingerbread 2.3.3) was just in english, so I searched the internet for custom rom with arabic language, then I've found one at another forum (I regret) with no description or details but I found out after that that it's froyo 2.2, I sat it up and then the device rebooted but with a problem, it take a lot of time to boot to the system, and it worked but with issues in the sound and performance,
so I tried to update to gingerbread to solve this issues but like I said it takes a lot of time boot, after that the device is not working at all not booting.
when I press and hold the power button the device won't power up and after 20mins it powers up with a white screen with htc logo at the center and vibrates for about 5mins and then the screen goes black with a dimmed gray light, when I type the "adb devices" command in the cmd (while the screen is dimmed) it shows the device is connected.
So what I have to do to get it work again !?

First question are you rooted ?
Second can you get into hboot by powering up with holding volume down and power button at the same time?
If so here is the rooted gingerbread rom and radio. Just place zip file in root of sd card you may need adapter for sd card. Then power up into hboot when it ask to load pd98 volume up for yes. Let it do its thing then reboot.
Its english version you may find language help here in XDA just search.
DO NOT FLASH THIS ROM IF YOUR NOT ROOTED.

- No I can't get into hboot
by the way, I noticed that every time I plug the usb cable or the charger into the device it has a flashed red led for a while and then the led stays red for a longer while then it turns green, so I think the battery is damaged I guess. am I right ?
ps. I have sd card adapter

There is a non rooted rom here somewhere in the general section. You can try searching for it sorry can't help you there. On the battery not to sure there, theres a few good guys here like zelendel,Tx redneck, mm_bacon or cwhitney who might come along and help you out.
If not rooted then warranty exchange it.

Hi all.
I have searched this forum (I know it's very frowned upon to start a thread without doing so) but the symptoms don't completely match my issue so I've resorted to asking.
I have a Nexus 5, which I was using as a hotspot, tethering to an Amazon fire stick, when it switched itself off.
It hasn't booted since, I've tried all possible button combinations for up to 2 minutes and still nothing.
If connected to a charger I get the white battery icon with the lightning bolt for a few seconds then blank screen, this will loop until unplugged.
When I have the battery icon on screen I can hold power button and it will display "Google" and vibrate as if starting to boot, then go blank again.
Have reinstalled original battery and the symptoms remain the same.
Am on marshmallow 6.0.1 totally stock am also out of warranty.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Try to boot in bootloader mode if it boots connect to it comp and then unlock the bootloader if not and install latest Twrp if not then flash a custom rom and boot it then flash factory images .. Done. Back to Stock!
Try booting in bootloader mod while connecting it do the charger. (Wall charger )

Mother board problem or change try changing ur battery... Surely Mother Board problem! Coz while u were connected to a hotspot and then u switched off it.. The battery would suddenly undervolt ur motherboard... And Undervolting id Very Very bad even if u change it from software or hardware...This had happen to my Sis nexus 5. .. So given it a chance changing the battery! Coz that helped Me.. But also try booting in bootloader mod and flashing twrp it will save couple of Bucks and Time
Press the thanks button if this helps
I would replace the battery first. It seems like the battery was completely drained while hotspotting.
Are you using the original USB cable and charger that came with the phone?

If battery swap doesn't help is the motherboard easy to swap out? Providing I can find a replacement?
Motherboard is very easy to swap out.
Update, put original battery back in for the second time, first time didn't make a difference, possibly took longer this time. But all is good now.

Hi !
Did you try to install recovery with mutli tool ? If yes, wich TWRP version did you try to install ?
For me the only one correct recovery version was the twrp-3.1.0-2-berlin.img !
My phone stay stuck with every others versions !
This page saved me --> https://www.******.com/root-huawei-gr5-2017-emui-5-0-install-twrp/
but I had to go back to stock rom first with the dload method by pasting the dlload update.app files on my SD card directly from the pc and putting my card back into the phone.

what is that solution??and test point??...got the same problem...phone stuck at your device is booting and nothing works...no recovery...no fastboot....phone discharged....
I've got anorher solution:
Wait until battery is down, then charge it only enough it boot( then you get the battery empty faste if you have to do it twice) now do a normal boot. Dont try any combinations or keys! Now you should boot into emui. If it worked download the official rollback package, put it on your sdcard into /dload folder. Fully charge your phone (or at least 30% otherwise it wont install because it says battery level is to low... )shutdown your phone. Now hold power button, volume up and volume down your phone will boot to the your phone got unlocked screen then it will reboot, keep the buttons pressed for a second then release, now it should flash the rollback package and reboot, after that you can flash emui 4. After that you can perform the emui 5 update. Now it should be safe to reboot to fastboot and relock the bootloader again if the system hasent done it automaticaly.
Now you should be able to reunlock bootloader!
My problem is that battery doesn't charge as it always boot on your device is booting... I left it charge all night but same problem... Your device is booting screen and no charging so I can't do anything

How do you Know its not charging? Does it shows the charching screen? Cause i had this problem too, and at least in my case this problem caused enough battery consumption to empty the Battery in a night. So mabye something is wrong with the sensor? Or does it even shows the charching screen, because sometimes it has to boot some things (wich means it gets stuck at your device is booting) before it can show you the charching screen...

It shows charging screen when i plug but led is flashing all time... And it boots a few moment later directly on your device is booting screen as if u enter stock or twrp recovery but stays stuck at this screen and led still flashing so no charging
But does the phone turns black and acts like battery is completly down? Means black screen dosent react to anything No Led? Because mavye you tust got an error with the led or something like this, because this freeze is consuming really much energy if you already have this problem since two days whitout charging and it freezes on this screen battery would be completely empty! If it shows device is booting ALL the time it has to charge. If it turns black after showing the screen then its mabye really not charging...
