Yes mate.
Go to the settings tab, click "All messages", then Menu, Settings, Options. It's in there.

That's for delivery notification only- not sent notification, unless ROM updates have added something? I'm still on ver 1.43...

Yeah, you're right, but surely delivery notification is also confirmation of it being sent? Can't be delivered without being sent

But in this mode you pay the sms that say if message is arrived

I doubt this. I'm pretty sure the delivery report is free.

Been asked many times mate, but as yet no solution has been found
You can disable Sense SMS UI and use the WM one but I personally like the Sense SMS UI so we have to ive without it for now.
DR's come through as messages that need opening so thats just a big pain in the arse too, and leaves you with every other SMS being a DR!!!

try this tweak.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"=dword:00000000
my bad, it was for the old microsoft messaging...

Just tried it but it doesn't have any noticeable effects. ROM 1.43.

Thanx for all your answers
To bad there is no solution

great app; got it installed and customized to my likings
still not able to move to SD, guess the creator doesn't want that option

i LOVE handcent, but it only flash's the trackball once. chomp flash's it till u do something about it which is nicer incase i miss the sound.
can't you change the frequency & duration that it flashes the trackball?
ya, frequency doesnt work with n1's but i figured out why it wouldnt flash more then once
handcent was open when i turned screen off.
Still cant see contacts in handcent 3.0 ...
misread the post I quoted...
Anyways, nice that they updated the app so quickly, was a bit of a pain to use the default messaging client.
It works, but If I write a message and choose a contact, there are no contacts there to choose..

Sorry, I don't know clicking the "+" goto contact is blank, ya you are correct. No contact there, as I always type few alphabet to let contact appear, seldom using the "+" way.

2.1 Messaging App Facebook Status on Froyo

Hey all,
I really liked the fact that i could see the facebook status of the person that i was texting at the top of the thread in 2.1. Is there anyway that you could get that same functionality in Froyo?
haha i just noticed its not there! LOL nice catch. Bump to this
i still have it
Would porting the messaging app from 2.1 to 2.2 be the only way we could do this? Would this even be possible? Because i know a lot of people use Handcent but the reason i dont use it is because i like being able to see the persons most recent facebook status at the top of my thread

I hate the new messaging app. So cluttered and messy with pictures for EACH message. Not to mention the gray box for me!

It's a gray box for you because your sim doesn't list your number. If you see your number under Settings -> About -> Status. If it lists your number under My Number you can just add yourself as a contact with a picture and it will show up. Otherwise there are some phones that allow you to add the number. I personally used a simcard-reader/writer for my computer.
Yeah i have seen the messanging app on my freinds phone and i dont really mind the fact that there is a picture for each message, but I would really miss seeing the persons most recent facebook status because I might not necessarily see thier status on my news feed. The lack facebook status on the messanging app is the only reason I havent flashed the froyo test build

Idk maybe some info on a possible backport? The new messanging app is not as clean as the old one in my opinion

I know, but thanks for your help. I had to use an old SE phone to change my SIM number. But seriously this is a really large oversight on Google's part. Like I am suppose to make a contact of myself just so I can have a picture there?? That's ridiculous.
Is also like this. Much prefer the messaging app from cyanogenmod /:

No it's not and I've been making self contacts on my phones for the better part of a decade.
You people ***** about the stupidest things lol.
Well my friend tried yesterday to simply uninstall the 2.2 messanging app and to simply install the 2.1 APK using ASTRO and it failed to install. Im not sure if pushing with ADB will work but just trying to simply delete and install definitely didnt work

[Q] Eaglesblood 2.3.7 (2.4) mms problem

Hi all,
I installed the Eaglesblood ROM 2.4 a few days ago. I noticed I'm not able to send picture messaging. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix? I already wiped it twice.
Much appreciated!

MMS works fine for me on stock SMS app. Try using GO SMS Pro, that should fix it.

Hey thanks!
I'm downloading it right now. Do you recommend I remove or freeze the stock sms app? In the stock sms, I can text message but I can't send pictures.

Nah, just leave the stock SMS app there. Just disable the notification alert so that you won't get two different notification texts.
You'll love Go SMS. So much more customization's and over all looks a lot better. And there's some wonderful themes for it. This is my favorite theme for Go SMS.

Stock sms app

The app does exist in my phone, it's working, but when I swipe to right from contacts to send sms, it redirect's me to whatsapp. How do I get back to default the stock sms app without reinstalling my custom rom? (Ultra DecentLite v4)
You could go into settings and reset all your defaults to see if that works. A number of apps innervate them selves when they install, which can be a PITA.
I can get to messages app, but he wouldnt let me compose one if i hit cancel

Ah I see, sounds like a bug in that custom ROM then, tell the dev see if there's a fix
Or uninstall messenger and see if it sets as default the stock messaging app

If I uninstall Messenger there will be blank.
It's strange because I'm using this rom (Decent Ultra Lite v4) from a while and I think this problem appeared since I've started to use Xposed modules.
@*Detection*
A logcat will do the job (atleast 50%) ?
It might help the dev, not me
