Database Info

How to backup Origenal ROM

Hi guys,
I want to try another ROM but before i do that i want to backup my origenal ROM from T-Mobile. I have a MDA Vario 3 with the T-Mobile ROM on it. Its a Dutch version because i am from the Netherlands.
Any one can help me with instructions abou how to backup this ROM ? Or does some one have the T-Mobile Dutch ROM for MDA Vario III

Not trying to cause offence, just want a forum where we help people as well as educate.

YES but rule number one - SEARCH, to make the forum just a bit cleaner...THEN ask... It is to easy to ask the same questions over and over and over again...

yeah but don't be an ass about it.. just give the guy his answer that way he can go on becoming a better user of this forum and if you dont want to answer the question asked just dont answer it... you were also a noob once..and noob bashing is getting as bad as dumb questions asked around here just spread the knowledge if you have something to add...

Sometimes I give the search terms of how I found it (along with justf**kinggoogleit links), or how to navigate through our existing resources to get the answers they want.
This way the n00bs learn how to get around this site or google while getting the answer they desire.

forumwarz is really a good way to blow of some steam and there are always some emo kids to flame on lol really like the game too!!

I do get pissy when I tell a n00b how to navigate there and some other user comes along and just hand feeds them the link. Rather than pissing on that well intended but slightly misguided user (feeding n00bs links w/o chastising just makes more n00bs believe their entitled to links), I now get over it by flaming some emo kid in Forumwarz

New Chefs Need A Lil Help !!!!

Hello everyone
Im what you guys would call the ultimate Noob at rom creating
i ve created my rom kitchen and made several attemps at creating my first rom ......with very lil sucsess i may add .... i ve made roms that dont start right and even dont go passed the bootloading screen ...lol but all of you have started where im at and probably say yeah i remember those days ...lol
anyway i ve talked to some of you a lot and the seinor members and moderators seem to help me a lot which im thankful for but im afraid im still not on the right page of where i need to be as far as rom creating is ive taken your advise and put it to good use and has got me as far as im am now but i think im just anoyed at my self for not really getting it ........ i have flashed maybe everbodys rom on here to my poor att Tilt ..from Dutty's to Hyperdragon III and liked that the way Sleuth's 3.0 is i would like to make a rom like his i ve tryed to understand the UC concept of his rom but im just not getting it ..... I really dont like to give up on things that interest me but at this point im afraid of messing up my Tilt........any help would be greatly appreciated .

Wrong Foot
Im very new to posting threads and fourms period and i came across this web site on a google search and checked it out. I read some things here and thought this was very interesting stuff mabye i could learn this and do it to my phone.So here i am learning and asking questions and trying out what im learning on this site on my phone and seeing some amazing things go on in my phone . I am pleased at myself for what i have done . But like all things new, sometime you get stuck at a point where you need a lil help so thats why im posting this thread to see if someone who has been though this before can help me understand a bit more about the ROM creating process. Im sorry for posting a lot of time,and asking a lot of questions and im also sorry for my mispelling of some words in my post but if i can get someone to maybe take me under there wing and show me the ropes that would be great. I would like to see my name next to a rom that i created one day.

WWE means?

I just did hardspl on my device and was looking for a nice rom, when i see be4 every rom standing "WWE". Now im really curious what this means. Probably a noob question, but i am. Have tried searching the answer on google and xda-devs forum, but cant find an answer. The only meaning i could find was; World Wrestling Entertainment, but don't think this is the correct answer for me. Mayb some1 can help me?

Recently i have upgraded to WM 6.5. But when I install TTN 7.9, I get an error. Anyone who knows which version works on WM 6.5?

You want help? Be clear in your questions and ask them in an excisting thread. Start reading and use the searchbutton...

I don't want to demotivate but motivate to search and read. When you give directly a helping link, they stay doing it.
Seeing every time new opened threads from newbies with every time the same silly questions, that's very demotivating for us, the people who supposed to help you. And that's what you'r looking for here, somebody who wants to help you. We don't have to do it, but we like it because this forum is a bit like a hobby for us.
So, we can shoose, saying nothing more or trying to teach you how a forum works. I prefer the last thing... And if somebody like me (the bad one) point you in the right direction, it's not for beeing bad, but for getting a better usefull forum. You can see in my posthistory that it's really multiple times a day that new useless threads were opened...
Normally it's a work for the moderators, but they also have a live and can not be always here, because also them are doing this as a hobby. Be all glad that I don't be one of them or it was the same comment and also closing the thread directly.
I take some time for this post because I can quote him for futur use when I get comments again from not-readers, not-searchers, new-post-openers and silly-question-posters...
If you have really followed my posts, you know that I help a lot when the rules are followed a bit...
And do you know why I can help others? Because I read a lot...

And it gets worse and worse every day. Before there were only WM-users who were able to work with it. More and more the usual users buy a htc and always the same problems are passing here...

I'm from Belgium. Here we speak Dutch, French and a bit German. Most of my English I've learned here and on the internet in general by reading and even now at the moment my online Google translator is opened... So no excuse for that...
But even with the exact words it's difficult to find the right thread or post if you're searching something. And that was not a problem about 2 years ago. That's started with all the new users now. It takes a little work, but if everybody does a little effort, this forum can be a strong instrument again...
Before htc was only buyed by people who were really interested. Now htc is a more commercial product. People buy it and thereafter they can not work with it. They are not interested, they just want that it works. So they don't read, don't search... They just want an instant solution or link for there problem... Result: 100's questions of the same type... It's really demotivating for people who love there device and want to learn and share knowledge here...
I really hope that mods can do something at that, but i'm afraid it's a hopeless situation. I'm allready happy if I can prevent somebody of opening a second useless thread, even the first one is allready one to much...

Yes i agree with koen-ronse, but problem is when man something search, have so much found undetermined result...newbie have problem. E.G. type "MMS error" , you have got about 5000 post results...And what doing that ! Read all 5000 posts ??? But it dosent your thing, it is something for Admin and Mods...Must something better make with "Search button". We "oldie WM-er" have search problem, how about "newbie" ??? Very hardly...

You're right. We have to accept this evolution. I promise to be milder in the future...

G1 Hard Reset questions

I have a Htc Dream G1 and it's unlocked to every Gsm mobile carrier. The thing is that I would like to do a hard reset but i don't know if it will delete my unlock. Will it??? I'm only 13 years old and don't want to reset my g1 and not be able to use it because I'm using AT&T. All suggestions is greatly appreciated. I don't have Internet access I'm doing this all from my iPod touch. Anyhow please help me I am having problems with my g1

it seems that you're skimming the text for a quick answer. if you go to the Dream section, i'm sure you'll find the answer there.
