When I make a call with bluetooth, it plays nothing over the bluetooth connection. Even if I stop bluetooth in call, I can hear nothing coming through the speaker, even if I select speakerphone during the call.
It worked fine until I rooted my G1 and installed the latest JF ADP firmware.
Any idea what happened?
need to update the radio. newest version is 2.22.19.26I
Ok, I tried that, but im getting an error.
I download the radio update from: http://sapphire-port-dream.googlecode.com/files/ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip
I rename it update.zip.
I put it on the root directory of the SD card.
Then I reboot with home and power, then alt+s, and it says:
Finding Update Package...
opening update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
Am I doing something wrong?
now im getting corrupt file: radio.img
But to make matters worse, whenever I go to unmount and format the card on the G1, it says preparing SD card, and never lets me do it.
When I mount the SD card and try to do it through vista, right when I click format under computer, the G1 says preparing SD card, and then windows doesnt show a disk.
What do I do?
I'm leaving work in 30 minutes and when i get home i can send you the radio image i have. you can alway do a wipe and try it again. Usually that solves most problems. And if you want to reformat your card i always use ubuntu. its a live linux cd so you don't have to install it.
if i remember right i think i got the same message when i update my friends phone and a wipe solved it.
update problem

Did you try using a sd card reader or other device that reads sd card. Also windows formater sucks balls there are free fromat programs out there that work better than winblows I use peradian I think that's the name works great and if you want apps to sd it will format the ext2 fine. One thing you will loose all your data on the card but should fix the card so the phone can read it if you reflash the rom.
I think you have to update the radio first before updating to JF 1.5
I have the JF Updater installed on my phone and it found two updates and instructed to do the radio update first before updating to 1.5, which i did and i am able to connect to bluetooth just fine. As far as music goes i have not tried it and i am still checking around if there is any specific bluetooth device that is compatible with my phone bluetooth in order to play music. Any one knows about specific bluetooth that actually plays music?

Stereo bluetooth Motorola HT820. Great!
I can explore the SD card (tried 2, only one is goldcard) within the phone and it plays music and takes photos still, but when I mount them they don't appear in windows (windows 7)
this happened after trying to fix the perfected spl from sense UI singapore, I made a goldcard, put 2.53.707.2_-_sappimg.zip onto it, restarted, volume- + power, then I waited a few seconds and it has green text saying it can't find the files or bad files and disappears really quickly. So I rebooted it, renamed the 2.53.707.2_-_sappimg.zip to update.zip and tried again, still no luck, then I booted it up again, mounted it and suddenly it wont appear!
I've gone into control panel/computer management and it doesn't appear in harddrive list either...
It appears in device manager as Android Phone - Android ADB Interface. and when I was trying HBOOT update and switching between HBOOT and fastbook to quicky try to read the update text again, it said 'windows has installed drivers for this device - android adb' so maybe that is some factor :S
As far as i'm concerned i already had all the drivers installed as I have programmed apps before
seems to be a problem with the phone not the sd cards, what can I do?
Hello,
you said you made a goldcard, maybe that's your problem: the card wasn't formatted correctly and isn't recognized by windows.
Can you try with another sdcard or format your current card?
nevermind. I've fixed it now. Instead of mounting I tried HTC Sync (which never works on windows 7) but it made the phone reappear. So back to square one.
It wasn't clear to rename the file to sappimg.zip. now that i've done that it started the update but it stopped saying CID Incorrect - I guess this means my goldcard is bad?

Yes. CID = Customer ID. Try another sd card.
okay I'll try my 16GB card... when using this one it also fails: main version is older!
is there a newer version yet?????

No! Greater than 1.76 is no Hboot yet.
Thread will be closed, cause there are many similar posts in other theards about stucking on "perfected"
I've been crawling forums looking for several ways to partition my SD, but to no avail.
Recently upgraded from damagecontrol 2.08 to 2.09. Bought a new 8gb micro SD.
I'd like to partition the SD card so that Apps2SD runs, and I remember the first time I rooted my phone and loaded a rom, there was an option in recovery to partition the SD card. Now, my phone boots into clockworkmod recovery v1.8.1.4, and the list of commands doesn't include a card partition option.
How can I get this option back?
I resorted to using adb and trying to work around this problem through the command line, but all of those attempts failed. "parted not found" etc.
I'm at my wit's end and my school work is suffering! (I'm crazy if my phone is not working perfectly) PLZ help this girl stay in med school!
Try this thread and let me know if that's what you're trying to do.
Actually I found that post after the fact that I set my hero back to factory settings in desperation.
What I did with my rooted and fully functioning hero was...
back up apps
changed SD cards
set to factory settings via an option of the clockwork recovery
updated my rom to damagecontrol 2.09
found that apps2sd wouldn't work
tried to get back SU capabilities unsuccessfully
tried to mimic my first root and flash attempt unsucessfully with flashrec
Now I'm stuck with a slowed down hero which can't allow Su and won't do apps2SD
I'm at the point of insanity with this thing
any sugestions?
I have a HTC Desire GSM, I have follwed Linkslovesandroids guide for Noobs on how to root the device all the way through to adding a custom ROM with no problems however when I try a new ROM I get the above error. I have tried various ROM's I have renamed the file to update.zip, checking that windows has not named it as update.zip.zip. I have recreated the partition on the SDCARD using gparted all other stps in the guide were successful I cannot see what I am doing wrong, I am a noob so obviously doing something wrong, can anybody help please? This was an excellent guide form Linkslovesandroid but it is frustrating being so close and not able to load a custom ROM, my ophone is back to factory defaults very uncool.
redownload and reextract again will fix maybe with an another dl link or version
I have tried with several different ROM's but it always comes up with the the same error, it's so frustrating to be so close and still not able to complete the task.
thanks
Matt
Hi Guys.. I have a Dell Streak 5 ... and I have the same issue...
I have not been able to install the new 1.9.1 rom =(
I have tried everything that I know... but it did not work.
I created the install.txt file, and I downloaded (in different ways) the update-1.9.1.zip file. I use StreakDroid and I face the error:
-- Installing: SDCARD:update.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
(bad)
Installation Aborted.
Any help is welcome !!!! Thank you guys =)
Delete the ROM in your PC then redownload again, rename to update.zip and put it in your phone's SD Card.
Is your phone rooted? if so, disable signature verification in recovery. Also are you trying to upgrade to Gingerbread?
try manually directing the phone to the file (by using install zip from sdcard instead of apply update from sdcard)
I am also having this issue, can someone give a solution?
Cwm version you use some? or update from the original !
hi...
I have the same problem, but I'm trying to back from ICS to GB...
I've also tried installing another ICS but the same problem... What happens also when I try to restore my backups, it also gives me error that goes like 'MD5 mismatch'...
Does anyone knows what might be the problem..?
thanks
i have the same problem

i changed my cwm . buy it didn't work !!!!
I think that your problem is due to Recovery not validatng signatures on your update.zip files. I have CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4 and there is an option to toggle signature verification.

I have the same problem and have toggled signature verification on and off. It makes no difference. Keeps saying Install aborted.
Been at it for 2 days now. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Solution: (Bad) Installation Aborted & Error mounting /sd-ext!
I, using HTC Wildfire S (Marvel) S-Off, had the exact same problem.
Had tried almost everything, & was now even unable to flash the Roms previously flashed to this Device. (Tried All Sorts of Wiping!)
It all suddenly happened, after I forced the "recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvel.img" into the device (With "Wildfire_S_CWM_Recovery"),
& partitioned my SD with fat32 & some ext3/4 (Don't quite remember!), due to the reason that I was currently using "update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-marvel-03_29_2012", (The Unofficial CyanogenMod) which didn't have any Google Market (Google Play), & was not even accepting APK Installations (Unknown sources Checked!), & had a previous version of Rom Manager (Unable to update), with the old ClockworkMod Recovey in it. (...Some 5.0.0.2 version).
(And It wasn't even able to boot into the Recovery after Flashing to this CyanogenMod Rom!)
(Tsk Tsk Tsk ... Now I was unable to flash any Rom! & became Rom Less, on this device, for that Moment.)
(Tried Se7en Different Roms, including Stock Rom "PG76IMG_Marvel_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.2_Radio_47.23a.35.3035H_7.53.39.03M_release_225747_signed")
(But recieved the same Errors on all of 'em)
Without Toggling any Signature Verification, I recieved the following!
Installing /sdcard/update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-marvel-03_29_2012.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-marvel-03_29_2012.zip

The Solution! (Discovered by Logic & Experimenting) . . .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Note: Must Use SDcard of size larger than 2 GB!)
First Reformat the SDcard with "SD Formatter", the following way:-
Click to collapse
Download & Install "SD Formatter".
Use SDcard Reader to connect your SDcard to your Computer (If Possible),
Run "SD Formatter", (It should automatically detect your connected SDcard!)
Select Format Option & Choose the Following:-
Click to collapse
Format Type: Full (Overwrite),
& Format Size Adjustment: ON!
(Once formatting is done, your SDcard would show its actual Size!)
(Note: This is a solution within itself, to Revive the Fasle (Lunix) Partitioned SDcards that windows is unable to Read Or Detect!)
Click to collapse
Now, Reformat the SDcard to Fat32 with Windows!
After this 2nd Format, Copy the desired Rom (* .Zip) back into the SDcard!
Now Mount this SDcard to your Device (& Reboot into Recovery!).
Then Install the Rom with "ClockworkMod Recovery".
(This should work fine, & if Not*, then your Rom is Corrupt or Mismatched!)
Once the Device boots up successfully, & everything starts Operating, Switch Off the Device!
Unmount the SDcard, & Create an ext3 partition (of any size, but Not greater than 2048 MB!),
for extending the Internal memory of the Device!, with any Software e.g. "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition".
(Some Roms Require Certain Partitioning, but Remember Never to Partition before Installing/Flashing & successfully Booting Up the Rom!)
Click to collapse
*Still, If Something doesn't feel right, Just Manually Flash/Install your 'Boot.img' from the Rom (* .Zip)(after formatting your SDcard with the Process mentioned above), by using "AndroidFlasher" & Then you just might be able to Flash/Install your Rom from the ClockworkMod Recovery . . !

Google N1 Nexus One => SD card formatting => CyanogenMod 7.2
This was a very important step for me, after like 4+ hrs of tearing my hair out.
I had this N1 (Google's originally sold only online) Nexus One that I'm planning to use for whatev.
I did the bootloader unlock using the latest(downloaded on Nov 02 2012) SDK's fastboot oem unlock command.
After failing with the ClockworkMod ROM (probably the same reason due to the SD card), I've tried the Amun_Ra recovery + ROM, which is basically the same.
But, kept failing with the zip file opening during the ROM flashing. Made no sense, as the card was visible, the ROM zip checked out.
However, the SD card came from my Samsung GSII, and was formatted in that device.
Then I bumped into this suggestion, found another SD card and formatted it with the Mac version of SD Formatter (from sdcard dot org).
This is only relevant for those that would venture into using CGM on an N1, like me.
It's possible and not that complicated, but some of these tricks can come into play, like this card formatting.
I had this issue too, and realised it was a result of removing the sdcard from my pc before the zip was completely copied. Ouch!
Copied over the new zip, safely removed hardware and waited until it was finished solved the issue.
too late the answer but may help others

I formatted with that programm and I can´t access to the SD card from the computer and from the mobile phone.
What did I do wrong? I followed all the steps propperly.
Just rooted my HTC Desire (Telstra Australia) for the first time (TMod LeeDriod 2.5 A2SD Final) and all indications were normal until the first reboot. My phone cycled through the "Why So Serious" splash screen about a dozen times or more before getting to the LeeDriod boot screen. I then got everything working, set in the Telstra settings (as I had no network) and rebooted, and the same thing happened again! 12 reboots on the Splash-1 (WSS) screen, then it went again to the LeeDriod initialisation screen. It has retained all of my Telstra settings but now I have no phone connection!!
I have good wi-fi connection but when I check Network Operators for available networks, I get the message "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network".
HELP! How do I restore to my original ROM if I can't fix this??
P.S. My phone model now shows as an A8181 when I am sure it used to say A8183
Oh and the system says my SD card is not mounted. Even in recovery mode it is telling me it is unable to mount the SD card. I cannot even get Telstra ROM reflashed as the RUU says it cannot talk to my phone. Under Device Manager, my phone comes up under Other Devices "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" three times!
How do I flash the ROM when it cannot talk to the SD card?? I have even tried another SD card and it is not recognised either! I have also tried reformatting my SD card via GParted and have a 1GB ext3 partition and the remaining 14GB or so as FAT32, but still no luck.
I can now also confirm that when I boot to HBOOT, I get a few lines of messages that momentarily flash mid-way down the screen saying something about an image not found. I have tried to start the whole process again but am unable to get AlphaRev to recognise the phone, nor Windows... :-((
In HBOOT when I go to recovery mode and try – mount /SDcard I get the error:
E:Can't mount /devBlock...(something or other...it reboots before I can copy everything)
Update - Issue appears fixed
A link on Roms-au.com / installations / extras / fixing-usb-brick provided to me on Whirlpool forums appears to have done the trick. Not only is the phone identified now, it boots immediately and correctly as you would expect...and my SD card is back!
Now the question is...can I assume that all is well for the long term? Is it possible that this fix was necessary because of a bad flash to start?? Advice here would be appreciated.
