Bluetooth Manager, serial port problem - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hey,
the new bluetooth manager that comes with the Leo is driving me nuts.
I am using a BT TMC receiver with Navigon Mobile Navigator. Basically I can connect and use the TMC receiver via BT just fine. Only annoying problem is, that each time Navigon starts, the BT manager of WM 6.5 pops up and asks me again and again to connect to the already set up serial port.
How can I change the BT settings keep the serial port setup permanent, without any further questions asked .... this worked just fine with the old WM 6.1 BT manager.

BT GPS not working...HELP!!!

Hi, i just bought a Bluetooth GPS receiver (called BT-R500). I am wanted to use it with my Qtek 2020 (ROM 1.66.04ITA if this can be useful to somebody for helping me out...)!
I can't let them "communicate"...why? Anybody knows what i should do for the setting (which COM port should i use? it says com5 but can't find any satellite...)!!!
Is there somebody that had this kinda proble and solved it? Could you be so kind to let me know? thanks
When you bond the gps it should ask if you wish to use it as serial device. What software are you using and what are the settings you have applied? Have you tried a free 3rd party testing program to see if you are getting connection/signal?
I am using "Mapsonic", that requires a GPS that supports the NMEA signals 2.0. My GPS bluetooth receiver meets NMEA 2.2 requirements. This might be a problem in your opinion? I have not tried to use it with a 3rd party, just because i don't know anyone that has a GPS on his palm.

can you actually paired in the first place? or just unable to detect the satelites?

Maybe you should check the baude rate of the GPS device. I am using SysOn and had the same problem. You may also need to check if you are using the old rom or the new WMSE. For the old one, you should install bluetooth tools.
Alternatively, you can try GPS Tuner as it has an auto search function for the devices to communicate.
i have the same problem with holux 231 BT
i have the 1.72 wwe it work fine in com 5 the navigon reconize him but i have a motorola car kit he can't work with the MSbtooth i must install Bt tools to pair it but in the same time i loose the connection for the GPS
hi change from com5 to com7 i have a tools named gpsviewer delivred with the holux hi fond the GPS but the navigon no
i change the rom to the we 2.20 CHS but i discover that the GPS can't be found i install windcom stack ver1.49 and it work like a charm with the GPS but the are no profile for the car kit

TomTom disables BlueTooth on exit

Hi,
I use a BlueTrek earpiece (bluetooth) to enable handfree calling with my Qtek9100. I Also use TomTom Navigator.
When TomTom starts it enables the BlueTooth connections (if not allready active). This is usefull since I use a BlueTooth GPS with TomTom.
However, if I exit the TomTom Navigator application it is also disabeling BlueTooth, resulting in loosing the connection with the earpiece.
Does anybody know if this can be changed?
Perhaps a registry key I can change to solve this small, but annoyng, problem.
Gert-Jan
Turn on bluetooth before you start TomTom, then when you quit it should stay on. Does on my xda IIi anyway
The same on my magician. TT5.1 returns BT in the state it was before starting TT. TT5.0 however always shuts down BT on close.
Regards, M
I tested this last week, but came to the sam conclusion.
No matter what the state of BT, TomTom always disables BT on exit.

Ditto with my XDA2i running TomTom5 with a Qstarz BT-Q880. Slightly annoying.
However, if I press one of the hard buttons (such as the Contact List button), when the new window is brought up TomTom is minimised. Then, I can Switch (from hfrmobile.com) to Close All - and while this disconnects the GPS device, I've doublechecked and it doesn't disconnect my bluetooth headset, nor does it turn off the Bluetooth itself.
So, that in itself is a quick-and-dirty workaround hack, but I've not come up with any other solution thus far. Currently scouring the registry and the configuration files (what few there are) for a fix - it may be that someone with infinitely more coding ability needs to hack the TomTom .exe to disable this switchoff, though that's no mean feat.
You will probably find that if you reconfigure your GPS reciever in the Tomtom preferances as an "other wired receiver" select an appropriate baud rate, then select a Bluetooth com port, it will still work with a bluetooth GPS receiver but will completely leave your Bluetooth alone.
This does also mean it wont start it automatically if it's not allready on.
That doesn't work - the only way my Qstarz will work is if I configure it as Other Wired NMEA GPS and then run it on Bluetooth COM6, setting the baud rate appropriately (the Qstarz will accept any rate from 4800 to 115500 anyway, so that's rather irrelevant). Even if it's set as other wired GPS, the bluetooth is still disabled upon TT exiting.
This is also the info advised by the TomTom website if you're having problems getting your GPS to run with the software, so I'm guessing it's the only way. I'll have another look round the TT web site when I'm not so pushed for time.
What Tomtom version are you guys using? After a little play with mine I can say that with GPS setup as a bluetooth device. If bluetooth is on when I start Tomtom it stays on after I exit.
I use version 5.2 for Pocket PC
Well, small update - after having TomTom pop up the Bluetooth Manager box every time it starts up, and asking me which device I'd like to use as default, I managed to select the Qstarz Serial Port Connection shortcut which I created (had to manually create the link after setting up the device pairing) - I checked the option to Use this connetion by default, and now TomTom leaves the Bluetooth turned on after it exits!
Smashing stuff, means I can now use my headset and TomTom simultaneously in the car.
This is with TomTom 5.000 (4890) with GPS driver v1.20 and using the Great Britain Plus Map (v571). Bosh!
I get something different on my QTEK S100. When the QTek starts receiving the GPS signal (via bluetooth), TomTom freezes the screen for about 2 seconds and then closes TomTom.
Any ideas about this problem?
Is it because I had "MagicButton" installed? I uninstalled it, did soft reset... but the problem is still there. I can I know if it is MAgicButton doing that?
Thanks

xda exec/tomtom/fuzion

Like many others I am having considerable trouble getting my exec to work with a fuzion gps receiver and tomtom navigator 5.
Although BT GPS appears in the bluetooth devices it still shows 'no gps device' when I go into tomtom.
What am I doing wrong?
have u setup the outgoing bluetooth serial port on the universal, and told tomtom to use that same serial port?
I have set the outgoing port as COM0.
How do I tell tomtom to use the same serial port?
I must be a bit dense!
change preferences->show GPS status->configure->page across to "Other bluetooth device"->select->continue->Com0
Thanks a lot.
It now works like a dream.
I had been following the instructions from the supplier that said link to 'Other Cable NMEA GPS' even though I was using a GPS receiver.

WM6 and Bluetooth pairing Garmin GPS

I am using Garmin navigator (street Pilot 2820 / BMW Navigator III) and paired it with my WM5 phones without any problems.
Now I updated to WM6 and the pairing never ends properly. Since I am not the only one with WM6 and Garmin pairing problems I would like to ask here for a solution. Garmin is usually very very slow with updates and I use it daily for commiunication on the motorbike.
The phone connects to the Garmin and the Garmin sends it to the BT headset in my helmet.
What happens now:
Initiate pairing, devices find each other, giving the passcode, device connect for 30 secs, then the Garmin disconnects and starts the pairing proces again.
Usually when I am still setting the WM6 device to click on headset profile.
It doesn't matter on which device I start the pairing, they quickly connect.
When pairing I see 2 profiles on the WM6 device: headset and serial port. Headset gets automatically selected.
I have tried with and without authentication (passkey required) selected.
It seems the moment they make a connection and the WM6 device is figuring out what profile to use, the connections fails, the Garmin tries again, fails etc.
I have done a hard reset on both devices to make sure there were no 'left overs' but it did not help either.
Is there anyway to downgrade the BT driver on the WM6 device to get this working again? (I don't use the BT for anything else.)
My current devices 2x HTC Artemis /P3300 with different (latest)ROMS but I got also reports about the same problems with Garmin Zumo and WM6 (Qtec)
Thanks in advance!

Bluetooth problems with Handsfree kit

hi long time reader first time poster
ive just received my Kaiser (T-Mobile Vario II) and i have a Parrot CK3200 handsfree kit in my car, the problem im having is that i cant find any settings in the bluetooth part under com manager to connect to the handsfree kit automatically, i leave bluetooth on all the time but hidden, and when i jump in the car it wont connect to the HFK unless i click on the device in com manager. even if i set bluetooth the show ot all it still wont connect without me telling it to
any help would be appreciated
cool website, i can see this being a very used site by me
No problem for me
Hello,
I have the same car kit and the same phone. And i have no pb with this. Each time i turn on my car, my phone connect to the ck3200.
I have no parameter to select in order to do that.
Perhaps it is due to the ROM that i'am using : Schap's 4.31 WM6
Good luck.
