Question : any way to synch contact information with htc calendar? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

hi dear! i think title its enough to understand my idea
i think its a very big error by htc to dont let contacts and calendar syncronize
i have some contacts who are paired with facebook (i dont know if twitter work because i dont use it) and it download things like birth date!! or some event u want to report in ur calendar from facebook
i have a really bad memory for birthdays and it will help me sooooo much and i dont think to be alone

uhm....what should i intend? there is no way?

Yeah, I would much apreciate that as well.. It would be very helpfull..

It already does. I got a friend whose birthday is on 24 dec, and it appears in my calendar. It is the only one however, so i guess it only shows the birthdays in the next few days.

Well, actualy it does only when you sync your phone with outlook. But i'd love some app, which can do dat evev without outlook sync (because i'm no using it ).

i have a friend whose birthday is 28 dec and dosnt show...im not using outlook too and i dont want it only to syncronize contacts...i prefere backup theme and store

Xardus,
Most probably you already know this but in Outlook there is a field in contacts under the tab "details" here you can fill in the birth date and year. Now in contacts under Wm 2003 (SE) the PDA and Outlook automaticly put a alarm on that specific day and give the age itself. Now in Outlook you will not see this shortley before the date appearing. I have not changed my Outlook and after sync everything including the birth date appeared BUT not in the calender. Now this was also in WM 2003 so I think that a few days (don't know how many)it will pick it up and will appear as a reminder.

yea i know but fist i dont use outlook so i will never buy just to syncro calendar ^^
i know that we can set it manually in contact tabs,i use it at work sometime
i think its quiet usefull take birthdate directly from FB contact and put on calendar...or maybe an app on facebook to store ur birth and then syncro with phone calendar (but it should be a very very big work)

search for fonebook an app for Facebook and Outlook

its an app for ppc or pc?

Any birthdays you add to your contacts will be added to you calendar when you sync with your PC, also if you link a contact with Facebook, that will also add it to your calendar (sometimes you'll even end up with 2 birthdays on a date for the same person).
On a side note....anyone know how to get the calendar to show the age of the person like you would on the Touch HD, as your putting in a complete date of birth, the touch HD would show the persons birthday then their age in brackets after it....doesn't seem to do that anymore...anyone know if there is a way to achieve this?

Windows Mobile 2003 SE - contacts birthday in calendar?

Hello everybody and a Happy New Year,
I would like to know if it's possible to automatically transfer (take over) the birthday dates of my contacts in the calendar as recurring events (reminders), to be able to display them on the "Today" screen. I would like to do this without additional software, if it's possible. I have the english version of Windows 2003 SE on my Dell Axim X30i PDA (firmware A05).
Thank you very much in advance for each advice!
Conrad-007
I know there is a program todo it, i'll have to find it tonight.... The main problem would be that i don't know if it supports wm 2003.....
Thank you for your reply. So you mean is not possible without an additional software? So in WM2003 the contacts birthday datas will not be automatically transfered in Calender as reccuring events?
There is a program called "darkannifalert" That says it will add alerts for contacts birthdays (i have never tried it but i imagine it does what it says ) No wm does not natively support adding birthdays to your calender. You can give the program a shot but it probably was made for wm5 and later (you're 3 versions of wm behind, so it will be a little harder to find 3rd party apps )
As far as I know, when you sync your PPC with Outlook, Outlook will create the Birthdays in Calendar and sync them back to your phone
"As far as I know, when you sync your PPC with Outlook, Outlook will create the Birthdays in Calendar and sync them back to your phone"
but...when I go to phone's calender ..view by month ...that day would not be highlighted ..but when i click into taht day ..the word who birthday appeal ..is normal to wm?

[App][New] BirthdaysToCalendar - add the birthdays from your contacts to the calendar

Here it is the english version of BirthdaysToCalendar. It will add all or selected birthdays of your contacts to your calendar. This is useful for people that do not have Outlook on their PCs, to accomplish the task.
The program offers a few choices, either add all birthdays to the calendar in one go or let it ask in single steps for each contact's birthday to be added or not. Set the reminder time (time you will be informed prior to the birthday) in minutes. 1 day would be 1440min. , 2 days 2880 min. and so forth. On top you can have the birth year added to the subject, so you will know how old they'll be.
No duplicates will be generated if the program is run again. However, if you have a birthday alert set up manually yourself before, but they are not in the the same form (John Doe's Birthday or Birthday John Doe) they will be duplicated.
Get it here:

Thank you for your application, It has been added to the rollup thread.
Is it different then B2C - Birthday2Calendar? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=529857
Yes, it's different, though both derive from a sample included in MS Visual Studio 2008 with the same name
With his you can vary the reminder time (will add that too), with mine you can single step through the birthdays, so they differ a bit.
[Edit]
Mine has the same functionality +more now

My Outlook 2007 on PC will automatically add birthdays to Calendar as long as I have entered the birthday data into contacts and sync them.

Hi, I install this app and when I run it it set all my birthdays to my calendar, but it put it duplicate, for example, I have a birthday on 18 July, so the app put the birthday 18 and 19 July. So when I tried to delete the bad one, when I try to access the birthday, mi screen turn white and I cant delete o edit the appointment.
My question is, how can I delete this appointments or the all calendar?
Thanks.
TinTin,
Do you mind to share your code or change the program so we can change the appointment prefix (localization to another language)?
Best regards.

I get the same problem, I realise what has caused it but trying to delete the appointments in phone just causes the white screen and forces me to do a soft reset.
Same problem here as the people above me have mentioned. Screen turning white when wanting to delete extra day.

[Q] Can you sync birthdays in your contacts with calendar

Hi All
My calendar is currently displaying all the birthdays from FB contacts, but i would also like it to display birthdays of contacts who aren't on FB. Can this be done and if so how?
Thanks
MinaNZ
I add in manually the birthdays of the contacts I want. Hit edit and there should a spot for it, or at least a area for notes (put the birthday there) I've only just gotten my Sensation but on my Nexus S and Nexus One there is an entry for birthdays. Sorry if that isn't what you were looking for.
Sent from either my N1, NS, or Sensation4G....
It's been my experience that if you sync with outlook & you have a birthday listed on a contact it'll sync to the calendar too.
sent from HTC Sensation
Most of my contacts are sync from FB and the calendar displays the birthdays in FB. However i have a few contacts who don't have FB pages and i have entered their birthdays in manually in the people app. My calendar automatically displays the birthdays of my FB contacts but not the birthdays of people without FB that i have manually entered in the people app. I don't have any birthdays in my gmail and i haven't sync to my outlook as that is my work email and have no birthdays on there either. So i want the birthdays i have manually entered in the people app to display in my calendar. Can this be done automatically or do i have to enter each one manually.
Not sure if you have seen my other post, but when i enter birthdays in manually in the people app it doesn't display the correct day. For example if i manually enter 14th July 1965 and save the contact, i then displays 15th July 1965. So it's always a day ahead.

It works for me too. However, if I create the Contact on the phone with birthday included and then sync with Outlook, the contact will be created on Outlook, but w/o the birthday and will thus neither show the birthday on Outlook Calendar nor on the Phone Calendar.
Very strange.

interesting. I guess I should've stated that was when using WM, haven't tried it on Android like that. Good to know. I'll have to test this as well.

How to "best" use Calendar(s) and Contacts

I have some questions regarding how to "best" use the calendar(s) and Contacts.
I want everything in one Calendar, so I've currently settled to showing only my Exchange (Outlook) calendar on my phone. I set up Google's Sync program on my work PC to update my Outlook calendar and Google Calendar, so I can read/edit it on my PC at home. After a number of missed meetings (and angry boss) I set this to a one-way push from Outlook to Google. No more missing entries. This means I cannot edit my calendar on my PC at home. How do I best view/use/edit a single calendar on my phone, Exchange, and my home PC?
Contacts are confusing to me. I don't fully understand how to think of them. I have ~500 contacts from Outlook, most of which were pushed to GMail. When I first started to use the phone and log in to Facebook, etc. I was prompted to "link" contact IDs. After linking a few hundred I though I was OK, but none of the newer contact pictures on my phone have been synced with Outlook. How do I sync this information? I PRESUME that linking really keeps multiple entries for a person with some fields from each source? What really happening when I "link" and how can I "merge" them instead? I'm most interested in "pushing" new/updated pictures to my outlook contacts.
Thanks in advance,

Time zones
In outlook, as well as on the phone's calendar application, you have the option to specify the time zone for the calendar entry. Simple and straight forward.

I'm confused. Why don't you just setup your exchange account on the phone and keep it separate from your gmail calendar? This way you don't have to sync outlook calendar with gmail calendar and you can still view/edit on phone. Yes you won't be able to view/edit from home pc but I'm not sure why would you want to do that?
The contacts are only linked, they are not merged (even though they show up as merged on the phone) so the pictures from Facebook for example won't be updated on your outlook. If you were to remove your Facebook account in your phone, you will lose all the pictures and other info that came from Facebook. It is built this way for privacy reasons so Google doesn't steal Facebook contact data and vice versa.

This software (called Fonebook) should allow you to update Outlook contacts with corresponding pictures from Facebook.

When I'm home I want to view my Calendar on the big screen of my PC. 14" is MUCH better than 3.7"
Sometimes I want to edit a Calendar entry when I'm home (e.g. add an entry with a long text note) which is a pain to do on the handset.
My N900 had an App to copy contact pictures from Facebook, etc. onto the handset's contacts, which were then sync'ed to Outlook. Is there an app with similar functionality for Android?
Thanks
Is there new software that will sync my Outlook calendar to Google Cal without me getting chewed out by my Boss for missing meetings?

Yes, outlook changes all of the entries according to changing time zones.
I want to enter my 9:30 return flight (when I'm booking, before travel) as 9:30. Outlook assumes I'll enter it as 6:30 since I'm in PDT and the airport is in EDT. I'm trying to use entries that are all local time. If I have connecting flights I need to pre-compute different offsets. Too easy to mess up and miss a flight.
I been trying different scenarios to see why your appointments are getting shifted but everything is working for me the way it should as long as I specify the time zone for the appointment and not accept the default time zone that Outlook or Google calendar suggests (they default to current time zone). Do you do that on your end or do you just enter start/end time for the appointment without along with the rest of the appointment details without changing the time zone?

m.google.com/sync error with birthday calendar

Dear all...
I really need an hand..
I have a samsung omnia w and I would like to add to my calendar the other calendar I had on my google account.
So I go to m.google.com, I put the tick on the 3 calendars I have "Birthdays", "Weather" and another one...Well now I can see them in the Settings on my wp, but if I go in settings, email and account, I see that google account can't sync!!!..
I have an error...like 8600050C...
I have this error only If I put a tick on "Birthday and Events Contact"...with the other 2 calendars there is no problem..
Why!??!??!?
Please help me!!
Thanks
same problem here, really annoying!!!
Add another one with this problem.
same problem here on lumia 710.
birthdays were syncing until yesterday just fine and stopped approx 18 hrs ago. no google content (contacts, emails, calendars...etc) would sync today until i disabled the birthday calendar. hopefully there will be a timely resolution...because i don't find the workaround to disable the birthdays a long term solution.
It looks like whatever the issue was, it is now fixed. Once again the birthday calendar syncs without problems.
