Need services.jar - Hero CDMA Android Development

guys i need services.jar from hero 1.5 cupcake cdma rom to port my euro hero transparent themes for CDMA hero. so could any1 please give me the servces.jar from 1.5 cupcake cdma roms? cheers

Need the Odex as well???
This is from a CDMA Moment system dump I have.

this is weird. i can create .dex file from the extracted odex of cdma files. when i use smali to create dex from this services it throws error. but i can create .dex file from euro hero services pretty fine without any error. any idea?

It needs to be deodex's on the cdma hero first. I'll try to get you a deodex'd copy asap. But I'll bet it's a pretty big one. heh.

A .dex you can do on your PC. An .odex you can not because it requires the framework on the phone. Confirmed to me personally by JF (the author of smali/baksmali. And also because I know it errors out when not done on the phone. heh)
edit: I just tried to deodex it for you but it errors out even on the phone. This means it's relying on a .jar that isn't in the classpath. It will take some work to get it deodex'd. I'll try and do it next week for you, I don't think I'll have a chance before I leave town.

copy opengl .dll's from device?

Hi,
To link a gl app I need the respective .lib's for
libEGL.dll
libGLES_CM.dll
libGLESv1_CM.dll
libGLESv2.dll
I know how to turn these into libs once I've extracted the files, but here lies the problem.
when I try to copy them from the windows directory I get the message
"access is denied"
Anyone know how to grab these files from the device?
Jim
they are modules. so not easy to get out of a live rom..
it is easier to extract them from a dumped rom
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I dumped the ROM, extracted the .dll's and turned them into libs. I wanted to post them here so other dev's can use them.
headers are available from khronos group.
I've dumped the openVG as this is part of the EGL package.

Hi dattrax,
can you describe how you dumped the rom and extracted the dll's.
I need to do the same thing.
Thanks

taskbar font color

i was just wondering what the deal is with trying to change the color of the letters and numbers on the taskbar.. i remember reading somewhere that it causes a bootloop but has there been any progress on that?
thanks!
Not sure about the boot loop rumor, but its almost near impossible to change. you have to deodex .odex files to get to the actual file to make the change. The problem is the .odex files can be deodexed, but reassembling them is more difficult. Trust me, im still trying to find a way to get this done.

I was able to un-odex the file and see the code I needed to change. The problem fo rme was re-odexing the file. I un-odexed the file on the phone and then used utilities to re-odex on my PC. I wonder if I need to re-odex directly on the phone to create a valid file. Has anyone tried this yet?

Old cooker want to cook something

After many many tweaking and cooking ROMs for WinMo I want to do same with Android. The reason I cooked for WinMo was speed, but since it is not an issue with mine Desire(but it can be better I want to customize ROM a little bit, so remove some stuff and later maybe add few apps. If this want be a problem I will try to tweak too.
However in WinMo I have always have served kitchen, I just tweaked removed and add few things and job done but here there are no kitchens..yet(I hope somebody will sooner or later post it
So is there anybody who can help to set up kitchen so that I can cook few roms for me and this community?
So if I understanded correctly I need following to start cooking
android sdk
java jdk
signing tool
stock ROM
I have downloaded them all, extracted SDK in D:\HTC Desire\Android SDK, installed Java JDK in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java and I don't know what to do next?
Extract ROM, where(?), extract system.img which is in rom.zip if yes how and where?
Thanks for your help
Benko, you can extract the ROM anywhere you want. But, you don't want images. You should look at Pauls rootedupdate.zip as a starting point. Unzip that.

Ok extracted that rootedupdate.zip and found a lot of apks and obexes so after I delete those files that I dont want how to put that all back together to file that is flashable?
You'll have to resign the zip after removing stuff, otherwise it will give verification errors when trying to flash.
You need to remove the current certificates from the file, there are three files in the META-INF folder - delete those, but keep the update script (the COM folder inside), it's needed for flashing.
I use this little thingy for signatures: http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Generating_Keys
Hope this helps!
PS-beware of any dependencies between the various apk's and any framework modding that might be needed, otherwise you'll get more fc's than you can carry; I know I did
PS2- if you want a served kitchen, you'll find one over at Modaco, for a CyanogenMod port (a link is posted in a thread here) - see if that suits you're needs.
PS3- check out the Chef Central sticky here, too - it should be easier to get quicker/more accurate info from the seasoned cooks there

Rezip the folders: meta, system & boot.img.
Then resign them. You can then transfer it to sd and try to flash. If it doesn't boot, then you have to troubleshoot.
May I know that how to change layout of the home screen?
e.g. HTC sense has news/mail widget where first installed and booted.
Where can I change these settings?
Also , I want to know if I made my own rom, and updated to my desire.
If it doesn't boot or anything, can I updated the rootedupdate.zip from Paul to get the desire back working?
Thanks

Ok zipped those folders(META-INF, system, boot.img) in rootedupdate.zip, used autosign.bat to manually sign that .zip and now it should be flashable?
@Kevin-yes if it is not bootable you can flash Pauls rom again

Hopefully. After a few hundred times you'll get the hang of it. ;P
If it boot loops, it won't boot. Try again. Always remember what you're adding and subtracting. Maybe start out with only a couple things.

So for now I even don't need Android SDK?
I downloaded the rom kitchen from Chef Central...Does the rom need to be sign after I built them out in Linux?
Also there are some folders I not understand yet....
Inside system folder - customize, etc, framework, usr and xbin I dont understand yet.
Cause looking at eVil D:'s rom and paul's rom is very different in those. And even paul's rom doesnt have customize folder.
Would like to understand all and see if I can make a rom out.
Thanks
Anybody tried my ROM ?

the kitchen signs the rom automatically. run the menu from terminal ( using linux) and u will see all the what the kitchen is doing.
do not try to compare custom roms ... they are different. some have extrafiles & folders depending on their customisations.
best thing is to compare with an original rom for the desire. and u see what has been added to get X and Y. involves a lot of trials and errors.

Zasa rom and UOT kitchen

Hi all,
I'm using this rom ZaSa_4chacha_GB1.54_v2.0 (1.54.401.2) and I want to use UOT kitchen to modify theme.
But I don't know which framework-res.apk and systemUI.apk use.
Can someone help me ?
Thanks
Well, nobody inspired ?
I'll try to be more clear and give more explanations.
I used files extract from the 1.33 RUU to create my theme. First question, I don't know if I'm right...
Then I've downloaded the UOT files and flash it. When I reboot my phone, I've got a problem with com.android.phone. It crashed, so I can do nothing.
I don't know if my files are good, or if I have the correct settings on UOT kitchen. (Suche like edify or amend script)
The problem is here:

Can you see now where the problem occurs?
If you want to use UOT then you must use the files from ZaSa, as you have flashed 1.33 files over the 1.54 version.
It's exactly the same as you did with the 1.33 files. In case you are having issues, use Root Explorer, mount it as R/W and browse the files on your phone then copy-paste them to your SD card from the app.
Well, I used the 1.33 files because I've read somewhere that I should use "proper file". I was thinking it means from stock rom whereas it means from my rom.
I've made a try with the files extract from Zasa rom, but I've got a SHTF files.
Should I used the com.htc.resources files ? On UOT site they explain that's for rom with sense, but Zasa 1.54 v2.0 is provide without sense whereas this file exist in the rom. Not sure my explanations are clear... Very sorry for my english.
Thanks for your help!
It's possible that even if ZaSa comes without Sense (since it's still a stock rom though) those files are being used anyway. Give it a try with the files suggested by UOT for the Sense rom.
I've tried with and without the recommended file for sense rom, I've always SHTF files!
Become a Themer
If someone send me the link for a 1.57 RUU chacha rom.zip, i will work on it to make it a great rom as i did for my Desire
No need to UOT kitchen when you can do it by yourself _ check out my tutos if you are curious and wanna learn something new in android.

[Q] Extracting source from APK

Hi, I am trying to get the source code of the ToggleWidgets.apk that cames with my Motorola Defy+. I already read many things (since I am new user, I am not able to post outside links) but I was not succesful on doing it. What I did so far:
Copied the frame moto-res.apk, framework-res.apk, and blur-res.apk from my Rom.
Installed it on the apktool, apktool if ...
Runned apktool d ToggleWidgets.apk and it was correctly extracted into the dir ToggleWidgets
Now I was expecting to find a classes.dex file. But there is not, and I got stuck. If someone knows what should I do, or a link with things to clarify, I would be thankful.
I just renamed one of my apps with .zip and opened it, and the classes.dex file was in there. not sure if that helps or not.
@ronaldguilmet: It was the very first thing I tried. Interesting that in my case the file present. Thanks!
I guess the class files generated with the Android SDK uses obfuscation through Proguard. I think you cannot disassemble it.
PS: If you approved the previous answer please click on thanks.

I do not know why ToggleWidgets.apk does not include classes.dex file. But when I tried different applications, I could get the source code using dex2jar, and then jdgui.

did you manage to deodex it? if so, can you tell me how? I've tried differents methods with no success. My ultimate goal is to be able to use the Toggle Widgets in a custom ROM like CM9, I don't even know if this is possible without using the motoblur launcher. Could it be that you are trying to do the same thing? it's just that I like those widgets so much and I would like to keep them in a different ROM.
