HD2 Footprint CoPilot integration error - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I bought co Pilot it because I want the integration into footprint. But now I spend my money and what happens: The integration is not working ! I press a footprint navigate button, co pilot starts, but no target is set ! it just starts coPilot, like it would when I go to programs and start it there. No footprint integration at all ! Do you have the same problems or do you know a way to fix it ?
hans

are you running a custom rom? Also are you running a branded HD2? Like Tmobile?

Did you install CoPilot on your sd card? I bet you did ;-)
You have to install CoPilot in your device memory to make it work with Footprints AND NaviPanel. Regards.

I think you also need the HD2-specific patch, which you should find somewhere on the copilot website.

True, if you just installed the normal version it will only open the program. That's what was happening in the beginning to all HD2 users.

tom tom on td2

have a qeustion wil tomtom 6.030 work on touch diamond 2 because i have dis one all ready
i really hope its gonna work
tnx
hope somebody response
No, you'll need Tomtom 7, which you can get from this forum. Tomtom 7 does not work with your version 6 maps, so you'll have to purchase new maps. Yes it sucks. Also, you cannot move your Tomtom services, such as Traffic, over to your TD2. This is because Tomtom refuse to support the device.
Sorry for the bad news.
Personally, I'm so pissed off with Tomtom that I'm seriously considering using something else like IGo.
tom tom
yes i'am not gonna buy the tom tom 7 i'am really mad too
i have igo 8 also then i'm just gonna put that one on my td2

thanks for your answer you really help me out

tomtom 6 with tt6 maps works fine on TD2, I had 6.75 working with all maps of europe.
Why work with tomtom6 when you can get tomtom7.9 with the latest 830 maps..??

Hey all! On my phone it is that version that works perfectly! If there are problems with the voices, simply copy the voices folder on your memory card!

I got ttn7.915.9196.vga_black_yarda working here perfectly with with Western-Europe 830.2307. It came in my All-programs list and i added it myself to the "today"-screen with comes with your HTC.
Hello
Where should I put the voices folder?
When I start the tt7 they ask me to add a new card, then I go directly on the website to choose the card I download it but then where should I install it ?
Thank you
Voices goes in the root directory of the SD card. Same as the maps directory.
Latest tt7 bought from tt on 4GB microSD does'nt install nor work

How did you do it, man?
I bought the SD-Card TomTom 7 with Europe_1GB maps (825 built 2159) offered on TomTom's website since some weeks.
Neither install, manual install, TomTom Home nor something else works.
The extracted "TomTom Navigator.exe" and also the Home app 2.6 refused to support my O2 TDII device.
Then I installed 7.910.9185 black VGA, but I was only able to download one city map. My bought Europe maps are recogniced, but rejected when I select it through menu "maps change".
How can I make use of my Product code now? Or is there any chance at all?
Please help, or send me some hints by PM.

You have to make a shortcut to windows\startmenu\programs.
You can copy the file and paste it as a shortcut to the programs folder with explorer. If you don't like the name "Shortcut ..." you can rename the shortcut to whatever you like.
If you now look at your programs than you will see your shortcut. There is also the problem of the clipped voice. You can run any audio program except Media Player with a silent audio file, then the voice clipping is gone.
You can also search for the audio problem fix. Someone has made a cab file to fix al the problems in one installation.

Tomtom 6 'memory access violation' ideas wanted!
Had Tomtom 6 (fully legal) working fine on my Kaiser. On TD2/Topaz, whatever I do (soft, hard reset, load from different sources) I get the same 'Tomtom cannot start: memory access violation' msg. Internet search shows lots of people with same prob, but no answers or workarounds. Seems to me might be screen/display related as TT starts to load but with squashed format before hanging. Reluctant simply to buy TT7 in case a) that exhibits the same prob and TT specifically do not support the TD2/Topaz at the mo and b) some people seem to have got TT6 working fine on TD2.
Any ideas gratefully appreciated- might have to have a look at iGo as previous poster suggested, which is a shame as have used Tomtom since v2.
Thanks,
Tony

Although I haven't tried it myself I believe it is mainly a screen size issue, if you use the "WVGAFIX3_BY_Cotulla" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=455974 and change the res TT6 will work.
If you try let us know how you get on.

Why don't you just buy the software?
It will allow you to download the program from their website...
because i never got to try it out first and from flashing new ROM's it removed this program. price is not the issue how being able to try it out and see for myself how well it handles is always nice to assure it does what i need best.
myself and others have been look for the copilot cab file from official ROMS but to no avail.
Mod Edit - Linked removed
Thx to @hoodeddeathman, who put this there. File includes also maps for UK and Ireland.
Here is an official link to CoPilot with installation cab and Australia/New Zealand maps.
http://copilotlive8.s3.amazonaws.com/8.0.0.557_Australasia_Card_Image.zip
If you don't have a valid license it will provide you with a 15 day trial license after which you'll need to purchase a full license to continue using it.
You can download additional maps from within the program or from copilot central (the desktop app)
Thankyou very much guys

So is this the HD2 version (with pinch to zoom etc) or just a generic version? I only ask as I am thinking of trying to remove the app from my internal memory and reinstall from my SD card. I already have copilot 8 from my Touch HD but if I use that version I assume I will loose pinch to zoom and the HD2 colour scheme etc.
Cheers

I've used a copilot 8 downloaded from copilot-website, ie. non-HD2-specific version, and the pinch-to-zoom still worked on my HD2.
The colour theme was different, though (default copilot red/black instead of grey/black of the HD2 version).

Copilot Live 8

Hi,
I have an issue with the POI's. I am trying to add Tesco POI which integrates fine. But, when I gets to the add to Pick a Category, I chose New Category, type in Tesco it then asks to Pick an Image – From here I cannot find the Tesco image.
I am copying tesco.cv2 and tesco.bmp to copilot\save I have also tried copying the files to copilot\EU\UK_Ireland\save and also replace the bmp with png file.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm affraid I can't help you there. But you should really give iGo a try. I like it much better then Copilot on Android.

Do you know anything about igo being able to set several "via" points.. like 10-20-50? I know tomtom on winmob does that, and so does copilot on android, but it makes the app useless: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5751733#post5751733

I tried iGo, but don't really like it. It feels really sluggish on the Hero (G2). Plus, don't really like the way it tells you repeatedly about the next turn coming up, told me 3 times to take the 3rd exit on the roundabout, which gets annoying.
I think I'll stick with CoPilot.
I have also raised a call with their support, nearly a week ago, still no communication from then. Think this is the propa downside of CoPilot, support is c**p.

New TomTom tt7.918.9193 for HD2

New tomtom released which is supposed to support the HD2 including using tomtom home. Version is tt7.918.9193
Link Here
As you still need to buy the maps I have provided the link to the application as it is uselss without them.
Found this on my travels and seems to work ok.
UPDATE:
I have taken the original zip from tomtom and removed the unpatched tomtom navigator.exe and data.chk and replaced them with the ones in the previous link. This is a cab file so should be easier to install.
I have not tested this so feed back appreciated but as always ensure you have a full backup. there are no BT files in this also. This is only for the HD2.
Link Here
For people still having issues with tomtom home NOT working, see post #33 below.
Thanks Zomig. Right here I go off to buy TT Maps....
Any significant differences in this version? Any Traffic updates?

maybe it's better to mirror it outside rapidshare (it sucks)

Maybe there is an option I cant see?
You only have to replace the files in your tom tom directory. No further activation is needed.

It's 2 files you need to replace, so you begin with installing a version containing the BT files.
it's always the same with these releases, they usually just fix issues with not working with certain devices. Also i believe this is a wvga version although I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

You will need to get the maps reactivated through Tomtom as these will be tied to your v1 device. Also they may not work due to differences with PNA and PDA Type maps. Check with tomtom if in doubt.

Nope! In the HD2 if you install T*T* "as is" you'll screw-up your BT functions, plus endless BT error messages, etc., it's all over the GPS forums.
In other releases people removed the BT files from the .cab, so your worries are over (as far as interference among different BT stacks)
I wouldn't dare to start all over again if the BT files are NOT removed from this cab.
Can anyone confirm?
Regards.

free navitation?

Hi, i started posting this in another forum here on xda but i guess it will be better to post it here.
I am looking for a free gps-system to my HCT HD2, and by free i also mean offline!!
If anybody knows a way to reset the trial on CoPilot that would be fine too, but i'm not going to do a hard reset...
I have looked in the post with all the apps for HD2 under GPS but i cant find a free navigation system. I have tried the NavyComputer and i love the way it works, but theres no GPS inbuild (unless you record a road and then play it).
Thx Qwak

I know that i can keep saying that there will come something new out all the time and therefore i should not buy anything but i just dont need a GPS that much.. its most for fun...
Use google because there's too many apps to post. Some work in the way that you download the maps off google maps and it uses it's program to navigate through them. Just search and you'll find it. Only thing is, you get what you pay for. Some work great in some areas, but others report problems in others.
well..
I did a google search before posting but it came up with alot of programs that used the 3g-network to get the positions witch is not free, nor very precise!! Neigher of the programs had a navigations-system inbuild so it was just to see where you were and maybe record a road...
I was just hoping that someone had tried a good one and would share that with us...
Or mayeb if someone had a list of available gps-programs so i could test them myself...
Thx Qwak
such I already mentioned before, thair are two difrent gps cistems thay who worked on a stand alone based, I will mean thay have there maps on your sd and don't beet a 3g connection thay works
ore the sistems like Google maps, it is free but it needs 3g and I don't see it like a gps but more like a plan who says where you are.
by the way I don't know about withc software application you was talking about but with my full lecence I have access on evry update fore a year! and if I will next yer also have the new updates it caust me only 35$!? so I don't think a really software is so expensive!
certainly not if you can bay you a htc hd2, bay a gps license will also work!?
and if you are looking fore cracks; you lost your time here! the ruels are clear here.
Don't use google maps, use Bing maps since it has actual navigation.
I prefer it over google maps, for now.
Bing is great. you can find it in Marketplace.
thx
Thx for the bing app, its surely better than googlemaps, although its on english... anybody knows if theres a danish pack for it?
I incidently re-newed my Copilot Live 8 trial by simply removing the licp8.dat file from the windows folder! Good luck!
I have OnStar and compared it to Bing. Bing seems (MHO) a lot better than OnStar.
1. Cost is free with Bing compare to OnStar $ per year.
2. Can set up route prior to getting into car.
3. If I deviate from route, Bing immediately does a re-route without asking.
4. Bing notifies you of turns 1/2 mile, 1,000 Feet.
5. When you are close to destination, Bing tells you whether it is on the Right or Left side of road.
Again, just my opinion, any comments?
Cheers
Hi, I just wanted to say Thank you to Megarock. Removing the icp8.dat file gave me another 15 day trial to play with. Brill
omg, IT WORKS
Thanx soo much Megarock, now i have free copilot forever!!
Though, you have to set it up again every time, but i found a way around that:
1. Delete the licp8.dat form the windows folder.
2. Open copilot and set up a new account and all the other stuff
3. backup the new licp8.dat to your memory card
4. when the trial expires just delete the licp.dat and copy the other one to your windows-folder.
(the one you copy to the windows folder is the backup you made 15 days ago, just after finishing the setup)
Hoped it helped someone
Thx again, Qwak
