How to locate USB Host D+/D-? - General Questions and Answers

Hey all,
I have some 30 pins on an ARM based GPS board, but I don't have the pinout for it.
I think there are USB Host D+ and D- pins (couldn't find a 5V line). How can I test for these pins, using a multimeter or otherwise?
Thanks for the help!

Is it correct to first assume that no voltage will be on these pins since no device is connected? Or is there still voltage regardless? If so, what amount?

I assume this is a breakout board of some sort?
If so you could just google the pinout schematics for the processor and follow the traces to the pins you're seeing. Without a scope I can't see any way to find those pins short of trial and error.

Yes, it is a Chinese car unit with GPS and Samsung S3C2440A-40 processor. So you suggest tracing the pins of this CPU? If not, trail and error would involve tapping two side-by-side 0v pins and just go down the line?

I accidently renamed the "SDMMC" device to "Storage Device" in the registry and now am stuck in the factory NAV software, which just lets you choose the executable to run from the SD card. Of course now though, it can't find the device since it's looking for "SDMMC." So I figured, tap into a USB host port, hook up a keyboard, and exit the factory NAV software to fix the registry. Unfortunatly, autorun seems to be disabled on the SD card drive and hard reset doesn't affect it.

I'll hopefully be picking up a powered hub tomorrow and doing some trial and error soldering this weekend.. any other ideas in the mean time?

USB Type-C pinouts

This might sound like a much more technical question.
Im trying to find a pinout for the Type-C to Type-A cable. Im actually looking to make a multi-cable for use with my RavPower battery pack. I still have a lot of MicroUSB devices, so I want as few cables as possible to carry around with me. I know I can buy cables like this, but I have a few reasons to build my own. Including integration into my car.
Anyone know where a pinout diagram for a cable would be. I have the pinouts for the individual connectors, but not the connections between the two.

Download the zipped document file from there. USB Type-C Specification Release 1.1.pdf contains the information you need, I think.

same problem
Hello. I have exactly the same problem for a few days. I tried different cables and chargers. I tried to reset the phone. the problem is still here. I thought the problem came from the battery but now that I see your post I think it could be a software bug ... or can be a planned obsolescence :-/
if you find a solution I'm waiting ...

GT-P3113 - Data Cable - Pinout/Wiring Diagram?

I have P3113 - Tab 7.0 Wifi/IR blaster. The cable that came with it (ebay) does not seem to support USB data connections. charges just fine. I bought another wire online (this was years ago) to no avail, still no data connection.
In comparing to the image here: https://pinoutguide.com/visual/gen/samsung_galaxy_tab.jpg (with pins being numbered 1 on the right and 30 on the left, I have pins:
3USB_DP_CON I/OUSB Data +4USB_DM_CON I/OUSB Data -
7V_BUS_1 P 8V_BUS_1 P
15Gnd P 16Gnd P
30Gnd P
Which seems like it should (?) work for data transfer with a computer. (make a lot more sense than the inverse)
I've looked around and have seen a lot of pintouts to modify things to support audio or whatever else, but does anyone know if the pinout I have is valid for USB data transfer? Is there something I can do to get the data connection working? Or do need to play some roulette with cable buying? (Any recommendations?)
I've popped the casing off the plug and it seems like wiring there should be mapped correctly, though it does look like it's cheap for sure, but there's no resistors or anything, wasn't sure if there needs to be for "standard" data usage.
Any thoughts would be great. I'm not looking to do much more as to hardware hacking right now, just getting it rooted and then more or less a simple controller.

Yes, this is what I did for the USB cable.
I have another question, do you know how the serial cable works for the TC7x series?
I mean the part number CBL-TC7X-SERL1-01
It seems to connect to the same connector but the serial connector seems to be very big so I guess it is using some circuit like USB to serial for computer? I cannot find it anywhere to buy it that's why I am asking.
Can some one make me a charge cable and send to me.
I do not want to pay $100.0 of $30.0 for the cable the tc70.

Also does anyone know where these pins go to on the board ? The traces are gone & shining a high powered light thru the board doesnt show anything that they were connected to..
