I know EZinput, Finger Keyboard. Resco Keyboard......
Wich one works best on the HD2? In portrait and Landscape mode.....
in my opinion the Touch Pal keyboard in both modes. With the less sensitive cab in addition i write igual as with a hardware keyboard - finally.
touch pal all the way
Oh really looks impressive... i wasnt that happy with resco´s...where can i get Touch Pal?
Touchpal is the best.
touchpal!!!!
I was about to say spb keyboard but if everyone is so waaauw about touchpal then I'm going to try it first

I'm going to stick with SPB, much easier typing on HD2
I am still waiting for my HD2 but on my Diamond 2, fingerkeyboard seems far more accurate and simpler to use than Touchpal. Having said that, I am quite impressed by the Touchpal keyboard and perhaps a larger screen will make it more friendly to use.
I need to get used to swiping... that may be my main issue....
Anyone here know how you can remap keys? That was something I really like about fingerkeyboard. being able to remap keys so I dont have to go into alternative layouts, hit shift, etc to get the stuff I use 99% of the time... all my smileys, ".com", and even "..." were on that one layout.... seemed much faster IMHO... If I could do that with Touchpal and swipe down to get smileys etc instead of swiping to get a different set of symbols, I would be a happy camper!

maybe you should try SlideIT. You can find it here: http://www.mobiletextinput.com/
IMO its even better than FK
I use Touchpal, and I've written an editor for the user dictionary.
It was developed on a QVGA device, but I've seen that it works quite good on WVGA and then on HD2.
I've released it for free on this forum, also.
Trying to find my challenge code, but can't find it. Because I can't find my settings\personal?
1. Go to "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Personal" -> "Input".
2. Find "TouchPal" in "Input Method" list and then click "Options...".
3. Click "Activate..." to bring up "TouchPal Activation" dialog.

I always use the 'compact qwerty', it works better then the original qwerty so think i.
But, still i think that the original qwerty from the iphone better works.
That qwerty from the iphone has some spaces between the marks.
Is that possible to make here on xda?

Yes iPhone qwerty touch screen keyboard is the best keyboard I ever use. It's very accurate, you can't press two keys at same time like in WM. It's like, when you press on key, the radius of invis button is increasing, so if you touch other buttons around, thny not triggered.
Touch Pal freezing and cannot see how to Activate
I have the Me Card filled in under People, which covers the Owner information requirement but the instructions to get to where to enter the registration code does not work on the HD2. At the moment CooTek are unable to solve this.
I was premature in wanting to register as the programme currently freezes when the phone comes out of standby and I cannot choose any other keyboard until I soft reset the phone.
I have Touch Pal installed in main memory.
Any ideas folks?

Download here... http://rapidshare.com/files/19630568/ipKeyboard.rar.html
Installation steps:
1. Install HappyTappingKeyboard.arm.CAB (to device, not to Storage)
2. Install Default_IM_WM5.CAB (to device, not to Storage; for WM5 only; if u already have other program which can set the default Input Method, skip this step & use that program instead)
3. Extract the files in ip_AC_Skin.zip to your PDA's "\My Documents"
4. Goto the "Option" of HappyTappingKeyboard (Start -> Setting -> Input)
- select "\My Documents\ip_AC_QVGA_P.bmp" for the ";Portrait Bitmap"
- select "\My Documents\ip_AC_QVGA_L.bmp" for the "Landscape Bitmap"
(if your PDA is VGA capable, select the ip_AC_VGA_?.bmp instead, and select the VGA option)
- press "OK" to quit
5. Start -> Program -> IMSelector
- select "Happy Tapping Keyboard" as the default Input Method
6. Soft reset your PDA
7. Enjoy!

- original skins from http://desftr.blog54.fc2.com/blog-entry-193.html (it's corrected & modified for non-Jp OS)
- Default_IM_WM5 is a modified version of Default_SIP_WM5 (but can't remember where it's from)

Does this support autocompletion (or autocorrection as the iPhone keyboard software)? If so, in which languages?
The software itself does not support autocompletion, but this functionality is already provided by windows (you get a list with words matching the letters you've typed so far).
I'm also using Happy Tapping Keyboard & have a selection of skins including the iphone. Good application, easy to type with a finger due to it being larger than standard.
Now uploaded to site:
This is fantastic, thanks for your post. So much bigger and easier to use than the default.
Nice !!
Thank you
Where does it come from ? WM6 ?
Finally. A workaround to not being able to skin the WM5 keyboard. Still wish I could skin the default keyboard, tho - but there's never a decert ROM for a device that comes with WM5 by default...
Can someone upload it to 4shared.com, please. Rapidshare is suck.
Thank you!
Just installed it and tested it. Great piece of software. Good bye Resco Keyboard. This make it easier if you want to using your thumb plus it looks great, just like the i-phone. I hope they don't go shut this down too.
Can not get it to load, see it in drop down list, but refuses to activate? Do i need the IM_WM5.CAB? can change between all other choices and Resco Keyboard. Would like to try for one handed smsing. Any help appreciated.

Try a soft reset, a friend had the same problem, he tracked it down to a conflict with another keyboard.
If you can't get it working you could try this ;-)

Hi there!
How to make it my default keyboard. I tried input options bus since it is in other language i can only see little squares. It works if i choose it from the sip menu down the screen, but after soft reset i loose it as default.
Tks!
Don't even try! I did it using sk tools and it ended with a hard reset...
accents?
Anyone knows how to use accents on that keyboard? (or french keyboard)

Hi everybody,
I got my Touch Cruise and I think it's a great device. The "new" touch-keyboard is neat, but I would like to use a different layout like on this screenshot:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I think this layout is by default in the system, because it started it when I was asked to type my WLAN password. After I did it, this layout "disappeared" and I can't get it to show up again.
So where is the magical switch to use this layout?
Thanks in advance.
I wanted to use the SIP you mention above as well, but was unable to find a way to select it. I'm not sure why it's not an option in the HTC rom, but it is disappointing.
This is not a solution to your question, but maybe something useful anyway:
Have you looked into PocketCM Keyboard? it is a great option and I love it when used with the iPhone skin developed by 2manyphones.
If you decide to try this, you will need to install sipchange by sleuth225 which will allow you to keep PocketCM as your default SIP even after a soft reset.
Hope this helps - and if you figure out how to get the orginal HTC qwerty, let us know!
I have fallen for CooTek's TouchPal Pro. You can use it in predictive text mode or precise entry. It also has a boat load of useful features like input strings (ie. www.<site>.com), a resizeable input panel, and many others.
I have used Resco Keyboard Pro (V3) and PocketCM (with iPhone skin). TouchPal pro is by far the best and most polished solution (IMHO).
This layout appears when you enter passwords or URL's etc, but yes, don't think you can select it as a main SIP even with a sip changer.
I don't like it as a normal keyboard anywys, you have to press the stupid symbol button to get a period.
Hi,
I´m using the PocketCM Keyboard from here , which is close to perfect.
You really might want to take a look at that, especially with the available Touch-skin.
edit: btw the ContactManager itself is very good too.
oh, and hello to everyone..
Thanks for all the replies, I'll look around.
Cheers.
Touch Cruise Keyboard
Hi there, i tested the Touch Cruise aka Xda Orbit 2 today.
I love this keyboard from the Cruise and wanna get it for my HTC Touch.
Is there a .cab, i can get, please?
Thx a lot!
i absolutely hate the touch cruise's SIP with teh XT9 crap
that thing is the devil reincarnated i swear
i have never actually seen the one in the screen shot at the beginning of this post tho..weird
i'm gonna try touch pal, thanks for the suggestion...btw hi everyone im new here too i just bought a touch cruise last week..upgraded from an htc apache
It must be possible to use this layout as a standard. But I don't know how. But I think it should be possible by editing the registry.
Has anyone a clue how to do this?

I'm using PocketCM, which is ok. Think I will try some of the other ones to see if they're any better. Some ppl swear by them on here. It's just annoying when you have Opera 9.5 and the stock HTC keyboards don't work. So you try and select the pocketCM keyboard but just pulling up the input changer menu takes like 5 secs (see the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375260 post by another user). then when the menu finally shows up and I select pocketCM and it brings up the crappy default windows qwerty keyboard. i have no idea why it does that. sometimes i'll get lucky and it will actually show the pocketCM keyboard. and if I do get the pocketCM keyboard, then that one leaves a space between every character. it's all very annoying and confusing as you can see. either way I've never seen the keyboard in the first screenshot.
Hey I just download Opera Mini 5 beta ... and it seems to be best browser of all even opera native or Iris or Picsel or Webby or IE (mobile) or Skyfire and other browser I have tried and forgotten names.

Adding their own onscreen keyboard to solve the issue of OS-independent input: GENIUS, I mean really, I never thought they'd solve it this way! Plus this allows for inline search, text input and copy-paste. Pure genius!
Only thing is, I personally dislike their design of the On Screen Keyboard. It's a ripoff of other popular OSKs out there, like the iPhone one, or HTC/FingerKeyboard/PCMKeyboard/TouchPal/VITO etc. Specifically, I don't like the fact that it occupies so much space on the screen and that each time you press a key a balloon pops up. SERIOUSLY, I don't get the balloon at all! Why do every so-called finger friendly OSKs have the balloon? It doesn't make any sense! Can someone please care to explain how its of help in ANY WAY? I think its just an hindrance and it adds unnecessary lag.. I mean, it's not like you can't see what you're typing; would you rather look at the input field to make corrections, or keep an eye out for the balloon to see what you've pressed? I think it makes more sense to look at the input field and hence the balloon is useless.
Just my 2 cents.
when you have big fingers like i do...its very easy to press the wrong button because of the size of the screen (don't have that problem as much with my Touch HD) having the balloon works very well. And the onscreen keyboard is amazing...yes its a ripoff of popular keyboards but I think that was the point...it was always annoying in the past to set keyboards for Opera and then it would popup with another keyboard...LAG...then change to the proper keyboard. Its an amazing keyboard its an amazing browser. No complaints
Very nice browser...
I've just a complain... when I copy a text from a webpage I'm not able to paste it outside the app...for exemple in a note or sms... It's possible to paste it just in operamini...
Anyway it's a very good piece of software!!
I need a cab-File for my windows mobile 6 device...
at the opera-site "http://www.opera.com/mini/next/" my browser (xda herald) said: device not found - so I cannot download it ....
My trinity was also a "device not found" but it let me install the generic WM version. It rocks.
Yes i know its an early beta but for me it's one feature missing from the previous version, synch'd favourites with the desktop client.
Also it would be nice for someone to CAB it up to provide a link on the start menu same as was done with 4.1, oh and remove the security/connection warnings.
Not asking much am i?
OK, i've managed to get a shortcut created now to remove the security/warning issues. For those that ask, all i did was copy the existing Opera Mini shortcut and edit it to point to s1 instead of s0. Ok, just looked properly and it's wrecked the nice icon, now showing the default JBed one.
As for the pop up on the keyboard, great idea for those fields where you can't see what you are really typing, password ones in particular.
Ok, solved the permissions issue, it seems that by default i downloaded the unsigned version from Opera, searching their forums gave the extra i needed;
on your phone go to m.opera.com/next and then scroll down to "Other download options" -> "Select signing certificate". pick a certificate and you will be returned to the download page, now download and let it install.
all that's left now is to fix the icon in the start menu and wait for them to add bookmark synch back in. This has been left outof the beta at this point.
Too bad my scrool wheel doesn't work or the d-pad. Other then that really liking it. Even the on screen keyboard is nice too!

Thanks for the tip on getting signed my device got picked upas a TG-01 lol it's a Kaiser, here is a link to Opera Mini Shortcut with .ico
Liking it. But hangs on save page :-(.
Also how to create direct shortcut. I created one "Opera Mini 5.lnk" with "28#"\Windows\jbed.exe" -run s1_" but it says Suite S1 not found. It is installed as s1. Old operamini is installed as 's0' and link works fine.

Well atleast they should provide an option for getting rid of the balloon for those who prefer to use a stylus and/or have small fingers. All the other finger-friendly SIPs do.

great browser!
Anyone knows how to utilize the d-pad to scroll around. After a while it is very tiring to scoll with your finger.
Working wonderfully
I've installed in on my phone and it is just the best browser all around.
I've tested it on allot of website that due to the coding don't work with opera/IE/skyfire/operamini4.
Now all my sites are working.. This is truely a webbrowser of note
When I go to my igoogle page it comes up in a Scandinavian language. What's that about? It won't display my google apps homepage at all, it takes me to another Scandinavian google page.
Also here in the Uk you can't use www.bbc.co.uk properly as it won't believe you're in the UK.
The TG01 is definitely a bittersweet pill. For its omissions, it has added features... for its extra functionality, stuff seems to be left out. Does one balance the other? In my opinion, unfortunately not... as the most useful things seem to be the things missing. In particular, a good T9 / Predictive Keyboard Input!
So - whilst I'm mostly happy with the standard WM 6.5 UI (with SPB of course) - when it comes to texts and emails, this handset is, as it stands, as good as useless, whereas on my old TouchHD, the 'Phone Keypad' allowed me to text and email with ease.
So what about the HTC Sense 'Phone Keypad' or other integrated T9 input system? Has anybody tried any 3rd Party Input devices? As the first paragraph said, something 'cool' in place of something 'usable' - I can't text or email with the device, but I *can* plug in a full size USB keyboard. Great!!
All opinions and options greatly appreciated. Let's make this TG01 something really good to use!!
Well I did not try a 3rd Party Keyboard but I like the TouchPal Keyboard very much. You can choose in the settings the T9 input and it works very well for me.
TouchPal... right - I'll have to find that one and give it a workout.
Any others to mention? URLs / Screenshots would be useful too... this could be the definitive 'TG01 Keyboard Replacement' thread! Ha.
Having tried TouchPal, I, too am an advocate to it now, and am already considering PURCHASING it!! So it must be good, because I never part with cash for software!
Yes, in my opionen it's far the best virtual keyboard for Windows Mobile
So, go and purchase it. It's worth the money.

Just being able to skin won't convince me to switch over, I'm a function over appearance guy, that's why my GO Launcher remains skinless.
Does this have option of the Keypad styled keyboard ??
would love to see dedicated buttons for moving the cursor. (arrow keys)
mmm nice
Nice looking keyboard but the multi-touch function is awful.
They claim that you can type faster with this keyboard but I don't see any advantages.
It's pretty fast...but I think you miss some options, like the ability to choose to show or not the language botton, the mic botton, the smile botton and the icon in the status bar...
With these options you can make the space bar bigger and more confortable.
A bug maybe...in samsung spica when you turn off the predictions....the predictions still appear.
And another idea...in others keyboards when you touch and keep pressing the numbers botton...you can press another botton like the ? botton...then when release the numbers botton the keyboard came back to normal (like the shift botton in a pc keyboard)
These are only ideas that I want to see in the next release if you can....I think a lot of people would be happy.
Exelent work and I´ll be waitin for an up date.
i love this keyboard! Just a suggestion, can you include an option for us to remove the preview of every single letter? i think it makes the keyboard a little choppy. Also being able to remove the voice input and language icon would along help.

i like the skinning but like someone already said there's no multi touch which means slow ass typing, but it's from the go team so i know there's gonna be constant updates
this keyboard can't keep up with my typing speed.
I can type pretty fast on onscreen keyboards, and apparently i type too fast for this keyboard to recognize my keystrokes... just letting you guys know. PS I'm using a samsung epic (rooted).
We will quickly release a new version.
You need to do something like SwiftKey + Swype!

other than colors on keyboard, no functionality that sets it apart from other keyboards that do same?

I agree. 1) There's no enter button. 2)The predictions are horrible. It spelled i agree to i agreen is that even a word?? and finally it gets really laggy when your trying to type fast. Ill stick with swype
also can you put an option where we can disable the auto correct? I use some language that your keyboard doesn't support.

Hopefully there's a DEV here listening....
There's a bug with this on the HTC G2. Go Keyboard causes problems with my hardware keyboard on my HTC G2 when the "Enable Go Keyboard Input Method" is checked. The Shift (and CAPSLOCK) key and the Alt Key no longer work. I can not type a capital letter or a number because of this. I had to turn this feature off.
Steps to reproduce the error:
1. Enable Go Keyboard Input Method
2. Open any app
3. Long press on an input field and choose Go Keyboard as the input method.
4. Open your keyboard and try to type a number or capital letter.
This issue exists with Google's "Sample Soft Keyboard" as well (I'm assuming you used this as the starting point for your keyboard).
FWIW - I had the same issue with the LastPass keyboard and they were able to fix the problem. However, I have no idea what they did to resolve it.
One question: this keyboard hasn't 'Enter' key. Does Somebody know if is it possible put it? It's strange, isn't it?
Thanks a lot
very nice, thanks for hard work.
I still can not get my gt connect to pc
