Recently I installed official TD2 wm6.5 rom, the first impression is the weather animation effect in the home tab,
but this effect goes away if user changes wallpaper to one prefers,
so is this there any way to retain the animation effect, while user can still change wallpaper?
The "default" wallpaper, well, I thinik, is "no wallpaper" at all, since nothing shows up in the home tab background.........
it depends on what rom you are using.
for example in dutty holygrail rom it is possible to select weather wallpaper and also choose a non animated wallpaper to be used too.

Well, I'm currently using official wm6.5 rom from HTC official website.
Since my TD2 is still under warranty, the best thing I can do for this matter is to find out if someone else comes up with such a program,
rather than installing an un-official rom my self.....

The weather animation effect has also gone in my TD2, after I have changed the wallpaper.
I do not know why even I change back to the "default" wallpaper, it still cannot have the weather animation.
Please help me, tell me how can I have the animation again
just go to the settings-tab and try to change the wallpaper. the phone will ask you if you want to use the original wallpaper which should be the weather-wallpaper.
In my case, the default wallpaper...
Anyway, that is one of my biggest challenge in Topaz WM6.5, Manila 2.1
Have the Full Screen weather animation in Home tab (I remember that in the Weather tab, it works).
Since Manila 2.5 could have that, there must be a way out... to 2.1 too.
Anyone, any clue???

How about using the HDWall app so that you can use your own wallpaper on home screen and all other tabs?
Thanks but, I already have my own wallpaper in all tabs. I'm looking for the weather full-screen animation in home tab, for that wallpaper.

What method did you use to change your wallpaper in the first place? The reason i mentioned HDWall is because you can set your own wallpaper and still retain the weather animation on the home tab.

Great app. Create a cab so that you can have whatever wallpaper you want in both portrait and landscape. Best part for me is that it skins your taskbar and softkey bar to make them a part of the overall image.
On running the app select config and choose the profile that you need. In your case i think it will be 'wm6.5 Sense 2.1 All Tabs'
Good luck!
this patch solved also to change the default wallpaper to any
other one with working weather animation

ok, but how can I install it?
Ok, some information that may be helpful...and a long story. After reading the OPs post and digging deeper i notice that with my set-up i'm no longer getting the full screen weather animation that i used to have. Having been playing with all sorts of tweaks recently i thought i'd use the opportunity to investigate furthur. First up a hard reset.
Run through the usual Windows set-up and, yes, everything is working as it should be. Animation is present in home screen so i run through the settings, configure everything how i want and start installing my apps and tweaks. At this stage i haven't changed the Sense wallpaper but on returning to the home screen i see that the animation no longer works. Strange! I've been through this routine many times and would usually install my HDWall created wallpaper at this stage. So what's changed?
Well, the only tweak i've added since the last time i ran through this routine was installing the .cab for disabling the 1hr 02min flip clock 'feature' that is available on this forum. So, experimenting a bit i install my HDWall created wallpaper and sure enough i still have no full screen animation.
Hard reset...try again! This time i run through the routine, and of course the animation has stopped working as before, but before installing my HDWall .cab i go to the Sense 'Settings' tab and select a random picture to use as wallpaper under the 'wallpaper' option. Once this has been set i return to the same setting and this time i'm prompted to reset the 'default wallpaper'. Choosing this option i now have animation in the home tab again.
At this stage i install my HDWall .cab and, bingo! Not only do i have my 'all tabs' wallpaper working but i have the animation again. So to summarise, in my case at least, it was that one tweak which screwed it up for me. I'd suggest for anybody installing a wallpaper for themselves, whether it be by HDWall or BGForAll Tabs method to make sure the animation is working first, and if not to fix it using the method above. (Set random picture from options and then repeat to get the prompt to set 'Default Wallpaper')
Edit: BTW, this is an awesome tweak, thx to luxa44 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=582245

Hi guys.
First time I make an app publicly available for windows mobile.. This program lets you change icons for programs in start menu and then, of course, in the quick links on the home screen. You can associate any PNG image (with transparency also) to any program in start menu: works both for applications AND folders. You can also reset* the original icons if you wish.

Changelog
Version 1.4 - Current
New: Import/Export icon configuration: dumps to an XML file all the icons that have been changed, so you can reload them back later.. or after flashing a new rom Remember to leave the csmi_exported.xml on the root folder of your MicroSD card (if you don't have an SD card, put it instead in the root of your device).
New: In the list are now shown only the items actually present in the start menu, so you should get much less "phantom" icons on bad cooked roms (when the cooker adds an item, then removes it in the start menu but forgets to clean the registry )
New: Main icon list now scrolls up/down instead of left/right
New: When you are browsing for new icons, you can see the name of the application on the upper section of the dialog box. So many times I forgot which icon I was changing, it really pissed me off.. but not anymore!
New/Fix in 1.4a: Added an option to not filter icons.. tell me if this solves some problems!
Fix in 1.4b: Some localization problem solved.. should prevent errors during CSMI startup! Can't test since I've only got a WWE Rom Please report feedback! Thanks!
Version 1.3
New: OpenFileDialogEx dropped in favor of standard Microsoft.WindowsMobile.Forms.SelectPictureDialog: that's what you have been waiting for.. finally image preview during icon selection!
New: CSMI now remembers last used folder
Version 1.2
New: CSMI now forces HTC Sense icon cache to be updated when necessary: should solve some annoying problems Once an icon has been updated, just remove from HTC Home and re-add it!
New: Updated icon - up 128x128 pixel resolution based on drik's icon pack. The icon is very similar but I had to do it myself in order to increase resolution up to 128x128 (his was 90x90 and according to tnyynt the best resolution for rounded icon is 128)
Version 1.1
Bugfix: If there is already a backup-ed icon, it wont be overwritten after changing twice the same icon.
Bugfix: There should be no more problems with resetting icons to their original state.
New: Apply and Reset buttons are enabled only when necessary.
Version 1.0
Initial Release
Known Bugs
Version 1.3
While browsing for PNG images, transparency isn't rendered correctly (black background). That's Microsoft's fault. Even HTC's Album has the same problem. In a future release I will have to write a custom OpenFileDialog Class perfectly suited for this task only. But for now I'll just stick with it, works well and it's FAST!
Version 1.2
New icon's rounded corner are not as rounded as htc home screen's. This results in some blank space at the corners (ONLY IN HOME SCREEN). Will be fixed in the next release.
About menu doesn't work
Version 1.0
Reset functionality does not work very well at the moment: does work in most cases but if a start menu item didn't have an icon associated with it in the registry then you CAN'T reset original icon using CSMI v1.0 - you have to manually remove the application's registry key value "Icon"
If you change more than once any icon you won't be able to restore it's original aspect Sorry guys, I'll update the app ASAP.
What if CSMI can't apply an icon?
Delete all files located in \Application Data\HTC\ProgLauncher
Change that icon with CSMI
Remove the application icon from the homescreen
Just add back it back in Sense homescreen.. that's it!
That, however, applies only to HTC Sense: if you want Windows Mobile Start Menu icon to be updated (this applies to v1.2+ too), just soft-reset your phone!
Update!!
I've found a bug/feature in manila which prevents some icons to be changed.
Since many users were complaining about not being able to change some icons I've started investigating the problem and found that if you try to use a custom icon which have the same filename of one of the images found in \Windows then Manila will always load that instead of your customized one.
In order to easily fix the problem, just rename your icon
This bug affects ONLY manila, therefore in the start menu everything will look fine BUT in the Homescreen you will always have the original icon!

Really Awesome! Thank you Eraser!
Just some questions. Does PNG icon needs a particular resolution?
Is there a limit or a suggested size for PNG file??
Then:
you have to manually remove the application's registry key value "Icon"
Which is the right registry key?
Glad to be helpful
I'm currently using 256x256 png icons But the optimal size should be 96x96 if I am not mistaken.
The correct registry key VALUE to remove is "HKLM/Security/Shell/StartInfo/Start/[the_application]/Icon"
Seems not to work with every application. I just tried to change the Internet Explorer Icon. Works for the Start menu but NOT working in the shortcuts on the today screen (shows the old icon). Tried 96 x 96 and 256 x 256 pixel PNG - none worked for the directlinks on today
suggestions?
I assume this won't work with Camera, Google Maps or YouTube either then.
I changed them manually in the registry but even though I clear the Sense cache it won't load them
Hi guys.
Don't worry, the application works You just need to restart your phone! Some times you don't need this, just change the icon and then add a new shortcut to the Home screen. Sometimes however (when you have already that icon pinned to the homescreen) you need to soft reset. Microsoft WM6.5 Start Menu, differently from HTC Sense, requires you to soft reset your phone in order to see the new icons.
PS: don't mess with HTC Sense cache.. just reset
Are you sure you're not lying.
I believed you but it did nothing and now I'm even more disappointed
Would you be kind enough to test the YouTube and Camera application as it doesn't work for me.
Hi, I've just tried with youtube and at first it didn't worked: that's because sense had cached yt icon, while in windows mobile start menu worked as soon as I resetted the phone. I then just removed YouTube link in the home screen, deleted the youtube icon in \Application Data\HTC\ProgLaucher, and then re-added YouTube link in the homescreen.. that did it..
That is currently a limitation in wm6.5 / sense.. I will add some "fixes" in future versions but you will always be required to soft-reset..
Just released v1.1 which fixes the problem mentioned in the first topic (resetting icons to their original state)
Strange. It works but once an icon is changed on my HD2, it won't allow a change to another. Almost as if it's a one shot deal. However, on the sense shortcuts, it will allow a change back to the default icon but no matter what you then change it to it will only change to the original icon you swapped the default to.
Bug?
there were some bugs in v1.0 which have been fixed in v1.1
what version were you using when you found that bug?

Sense has 120x120 slots, anything below will be scaled and thus blurred. Use 120x120 if you have square icons and use 128x128 for rounded edge icons, because it's a bit difficult to match Sense's slot rounded edges. Anything above this is a waste of space.
very cool but rapidshare says I need to be a premium member to download
Can someone provide a mirror? RapidShare is nice for sharing the occasional file for a couple of friends, but not really suitable for releasing an application to a much largen audience.

1.1.
It only seems to effect the sense shortcut icons. The start menu shortcuts are correct.
Understood. Maybe then you can try to remove the icon from sense, remove the corresponding icon from htc cache and then re-add it to the homescreen.. in this way you are forcing htc sense to re-create items in cache
Thanks...
Excellent post ! I was just wondering how to do this ...
Thanks a lot Eraser85
Thanks, works nicely. The only exception is messenger which uses two registry keys for the start menu and manilla icon.
Here are a couple of icons I (re)made/adapted.
Hey Folks!
Can you give me a source where i can get other (fitted) icons for this application? seems to be very useful!...
signals23 Neue Theme
10.20.10 UPDATE: Updated per LP0.8.1.1.
This theme was heavily inspired by ElCondor's awesome "Equilibrio Sense" theme found here. The visual credits definitely belong to him. After the initial creation of the theme on Android, I created another variant that, I feel, works better for our smaller screens. Unfortunately, this will be my last theme for the HeroC. My contract is up at the end of the month and I'm heading back to Verizon to get either the DroidX or HTC Merge, depending on when it comes out. I will still be modding LP as I'll still be using it and will try to maintain all of my HeroC themes.
Requirements:
LauncherPro Plus version
MDPI device
This theme isn't really ROM specific, but if you want the statusbar background to disappear (as shown in the screenshots), then you'll have to Metamorph the statusbar png below
The font is not included because it isn't free. It is HelveticaNeue Light and I would highly suggest getting it, because it makes the theme.

Wipe and try again. I am still deciding how I want the full setup to look.
Edit: You may have to insert the MM taskbar background to framework-res.apk. Did not work for me either using MM. Since I am not using CM6 I did not want to replace the background anyway. Not sure how it would look with white text and I can't change the text color.
why does my geniewidget show an background, and the one in youre example doesn't
Hey, i just love how this came together.
However my device is a HPDI (HTC Desire) ...
so could you make the wallpaper the right size for a HPDI device? And if possible scrollable
I would asume that the widgets wont cause any problem running on a HPDI device

Hi Guys
At first let me thank Cookie Monster for his awesome CHT which makes the value of our HD2 become infinite
This is our, which are jonas2295 and me, Nordpolcamper, contribution for all the people that amaze us with new stuff everyday here at the xda developers.
We got knocked on to the topic of this Theme with this little Thread.
Because this is our first Theme we would like you to give a lot of feedback, whether we are on the right track or not, because we most definitly make more than just one theme
If you think, "woah, I do not want to read the whole post, because it is quite a lot" and if you do not need a guide for installation etc and some infos, then just grab the files install and you now what to do But if you feel a little insecure, then I would suggest you read this Thread and I hope, that we answered all the questions you might have had^^
So but now for the Theme^^
As the name of the thread suggests, we offer you a Tron Legacy Theme. I assume, that you all have heard something about the film or the whole Tron...Legacy
Well we worked hard over the last few days and we accomplished this:
The Theme comes in 3 different colors, which are a light blue, a light red and yellow, to make it fit to your personal favours
We edited the HD Mini Lockscreen as well and want to share it with you.
But at first this:
Install this Theme on your own risk. We have tested all the cabs and they do work fine on the HD2. On other devices there were no tests, so we dont know. But if you dont have CHT v2 installed it will not work for you. So make sure, that you DO HAVE CHT v2 INSTALLED, BEFORE YOU POST, THAT IT DOESNT WORK FOR YOU, plz. I heard, that the device slows down, when you dont have an HD2. That is no problem with the files, it is merely , that your device doesnt have the power, that the HD2 possesses.
But now you might wanna have a look at that:

As you can see, we edited the HD Mini Lockscreen, the Page Indicator, the standard CHT Analog Clock, the SMS and Email Widget, the Toggle Switches, the Miscellanious, the Walls and the Softkeys. As I already said, we to provide all these costumizations in 3 different colors
This is a quick guide, so that you can find the files you need much quicker
Here are some more pictures of the files that you might download, so that you can get a better impression, on what you are actually getting.
The Softkeys and the Switches etc.
The Lockscreen
and The Walls
Of course you can download the Widgets as well, but We didnt make another Screenshot of those, so just look at the first picture
The Wallpapers for the Homescreen are all 1440x800 and colorised by us to fit the Theme. The Lockscreen Walls are all 480x800 and are also colorised
You can get them at the end of this post.
We uploaded the Theme in 3 big CAB Files just choose the color you like most and get all of it
For those of you, who do not want the whole theme, there are all components available on the second and following posts
We really do hope you like our Theme and enjoy the components we have done for you. Furthermore it is very important for us, that you give us constructive feedback and criticism, so that we can improve this Theme and upcoming ones
Now for the Instructions^^ We have tried to make it as easy as possible for you, because we know, how annoying it can be if it isnt clear what to do But if you follow my little guide here you will not run into issues ^^
If you want to install the whole Theme, then just install the cab with the color of your choice, and perform a softreset. If some components doesnt show or you have issues, look into the following guide first, before asking a question that wouldnt have been asked necessarily^^

-YOU NEED TO HAVE THE WIDGETS INSTALLED BEFORE YOU INSTALL OUR THEME!
Analog Clock
-Just install the cab with the color of your choice and perform a softreset
-To make it appear, go to Edit Mode, Add Widget, Main Clock and choose analog 2 for the layout and you are done

-YOU HAVE TO ENABLE CHT LOCKSCREEN IN CHT2 AND MAKE THE LOCKMODE TO "HD MINI" TO MAKE IT APPEAR TO YOU. Otherwise our cab will not do a damn thing
-Of course you know, just slide down to unlock ^^

-First you should enable HQ Wallpapers in CHTE. Got to CHTE, then Miscellaneous and tap "HQ Wallpaper" in Wallpaper mode. Then Menu, Apply Changes and then again Menu and Exit.
Then lift up your Softkeys and tap "Set Wallpaper" press the "X"-Button, if you have any other wallpaper active and then just tap "Very Wide Portrait: 1440x800" and choose the Wall you like
---------------------------------
With that you should be ready to go. If you still have questions after reading this post, than just ask and we will try to help you out

The Walls were found using Google.com. We edited them though, but credit to the ones who made them.
So enjoy yourselves and you might wanna tap the Thank Button to the both of us, if you like this theme

You can count on it ;-) I´ll let you know how everything works out.... Regarding icons, can´t wait till you release them. Something that would mae it very easy for sharing is to use the "default" names as used in ROM, so change would be very user friendly If you want the "state indicators" display the text in the same color as the theme, just ask Poyensa, he changed the white for black (to use with white icons)
Great work !

Weather forecast widget v2 is finished after long testing. It shows 4-day and 5-day-forecast both vertical and horizontal.
[27/3/2011]
CHT_rat_weather_Library has a corrected v2 and a version for the HD Mini. There was a doubled entry in it (thanks to mike2nl for the tip). The HD Mini version is the result of intensive testing by BHSInterceptor. Thanks for this and for his everlasting support. Installing: You can use the cab, but say no to requests for soft resets during the installation process until the end, then you can. Or use the file in the zip and copy it to the windows directory overwriting the old file. EDIT: Sorry to all who downloaded v2.cab, please use v2.1.cab. It was the false installation directory.
[6/3/2011]
LG weather clock widget version 1.4 is mostly the version for the new installation process for the weather widgets (see below). But it has also a new function (picture in post 3):
- Left button shows the last update time, press it for weather update.
Weather forecast widget. Look in post 3.
Please read the installation and deinstallation instructions for both widgets!!!
[25/2/2011] LG weather clock widget version 1.2 has two bug fixes:
- AMPM doesn't update,
- false manila name for a background image.
EDIT [26/2/2011]: Because of a failure in the cabbing process v 1.2 contained still the files of version 1.1. Take the new v 1.2b.
[23/2/2011] The new LG weather clock widget version 1.1 has some fixes and two new features:
- all remaining references to the original manila images are substituted. So you can use your own modded weather image files without interfering with this widget.
- new date form yyyy.MM.dd
- AMPM Problem for scripts with non latin letters solved.
- a workaround for the accuweather link for "my location". It uses now instead of the accuweather code the name of the city in the URL. So if the name is unique the link leads to the detail side else to a list of the cities with the same name.
You can install this cab over the installed version. But ignore the restart request at the deinstallation message of the old widget in the installation process!!!
LG Optimus Weather Clock widget
When I saw the first pictures of the LG Optimus I was fascinated by the impressive weather widget. So when Sony_Ericsson_X10 posted the android LG Optimus weather/home widget it was my intention to port this to WinMo/Manila. Because CHT is a really nice platform for developing such things you get a CHT Widget.
The widget is an enhancement of Co0kie's weather widget. It uses what you get in Manila/Sense. So there is no "real feel" field like in the original widget. Also the accuweather link works only for the citys in the word clock list, not for "my location". I will post later an explanation of the structure and the changes. Here now a little description:
- Instead of changing some weather icons here the whole background image changes.
- The animations are adapted manila ones.
- It has four layers: two date forms with or without background.
- Tap on the clock for the worldclock view, tap on the weather for the manila weather tap.
- For cities of the world clock list you can tap on the right button for the accuweather details. It starts the web browser.
- For all Anastasia fans there is an Anastasia background. Install the widget and then the Anastasia Addon cab.
Because the widget contains over ninety files (background images, clock numbers, modificated weather images) it is nearly 7 MB!
Deinstallation
For working a reference in a library (3a8e04af_manila) had to be added. That's no problem during use. But if this file is included in the widget (v. 1.0 - 1.2), then you have problems at deinstallation. So I took another installation approach. A modified 3a8e04af_manila is now in the CHT_rat_Weather_Library.cab. It has to be installed only once before the new widgets. The widgets don't contain the library. So you can install and deinstall the weather widgets like any other widget. The modificated library is still there and doesn't disturb any function of CHT.
So the new installation process is:
- install the CHT_rat_Weather_Library.cab, say yes to all prompts.
- install any or both of the widgets (LG version 1.4 or higher, weather forcast 1.0 or higher), say yes to all prompts.
the new deinstallation process is:
- use the deinstallation procedure of WinMo, say yes to all prompts.
If you already use the LG Weater Clock widget v. 1 - 1.2 I recommend you to deinstall the widget (see below) and use the new version.
In the old versions (1 -1.2) this file will be deleted at deinstallation. That's why if you deinstall these old widget versions, don't, DON'T soft reset during the deinstallation. Tip "No" at all prompts asking for soft reset. Then install the CHT_rat_Weather_Library.cab. Now you can soft reset.
Further development
The left button is still blank. In the original widget there is an update function. Another possibility is to show a weather forecast. I'll look into it. EDIT: left button is used by the update function. For the right button I think about adding some other weather links (also a free text field with the cityname at the end). And the four day forecast layer of the new weather widget will be integrated in the LG widget.

Disclaimer
Manila/Sense on many (cooked and stock) ROMs with many versions is sometimes very fragile. So you do this on your own risk. I hope, it works well, and will do what I can for all with troubles. But please make a backup before installing!
For a first overview look at the attached zip. It contains the workspace and some additional files of the widget kitchen. A basic list of the files and the structure is in the manila files LG weather clock widget version1.txt file. I will extend this post later.
Edit: the workspace for version 1.4 is added.
Weather Forecast Widget
[06/06/2011] The version 2 of this widget is the product of much testing by mike2nl, BHSInterceptor and me. After several installing issues we agreed to remake this widget step by step and so simple as possible. So it doesn't contain Mrhayami's layer, the (now static) background is from Co0kie's weather widget , the weather image library is also from Co0kies'weather widget and the days of week are always in English, because they are from the accuweather data. But not all is a step back, you get now also vertical layers. I hope it will solve some of the issues we noticed.
DEINSTALLATION: If you use Co0kie's Weather widget and this widget at the same time and want to deinstall one of these, please do not restart Sense in the deinstallation process by windows, but copy the manila file in the Co0kieWeatherComponents.zip into the windows directory of your device (with Resco Explorer or Total Commander) before restarting.
[13/03/2011] EDIT: Please copy the new xml file for CHTS into the windows directory ( in the CHTWidget_CHTW_rat_2665_Weather_Forecast_xml.zip). There was an error in it, so CHTS didn't work. In the next version it will be corrected.
This weather forecast widget is a cooperation between mrhayami and me. For a long time I've been trying to develop a simple weather widget, that uses the Sense weather basics without success. Then mrhayami really gave me a crucial advice (not only for this widget but also for the LG Weather widget), we tested together and he integrated his own layer (the left layout) into this. The other two layouts are like the Sense weather tab . What else you get:
- six layers: a five day forecast with today with and without background, a four day forecast without today (like in the Sense weather tab) with/without Background and little stripes between the days and mrhayami's layout.
- If you tip on the widget, it updates the forecast. Last update time is to be seen in two layouts.
- Resizing is possible. In max scale layout 1 and 2 fits the size of the screen.
- It uses only the Sense weather values, images and animations. So every mod of the Sense weather images is also to be seen in this widget.
Installation!
The change of the library 3a8e04af_manila in CHT caused and will cause permanent trouble in updating the widgets. Because the new weather forecast widget uses the same concept as the LG widget I took another approach for both widgets. The modified 3a8e04af_manila file is a separate cab that has to be installed only once before both widgets. The widgets don't contain the library. So you can install and deinstall the widgets like any other. The modificated library is still there and doesn't disturb any function of CHT.
So the new installation process is:
- install the CHT_rat_Weather_Library.cab, say yes to all prompts.
- install any or both of the widgets (LG version 1.3 or higher, weather forcast 1.0 or higher), say yes to all prompts.
the new deinstallation process is:
- (for version 1) use the deinstallation procedure of WinMo, say yes to all prompts.
- (for version 2) if you use Co0kie's Weather widget and this widget at the same time and want to deinstall one of these, please do not restart Sense in the deinstallation process by windows, but copy the manila file in the Co0kieWeatherComponents.zip into the windows directory of your device (with Resco Explorer or Total Commander) before restarting
Please make a Backup before you install this widget. It digs deeply into Manila and with the varying mods and manila versions there is everytime the chance it doesn't work with your present outfit. Hope we can find solutions, but a backup is really helpful.
Click to collapse
In the next post I will add some explanations.
Here are the workspaces of the widgets. You can find all the images, lua scripts and mode9 files there. A list of all the manila files is also included. If you use Co0kie's devmode you can test the widget with these files.

Thanks looks awesome great job
that's pretty impressive work and looks awesome. thanks for sharing.
works like a charm with my old friend x1i =)
anyway, I have 2 questions:
1. It seems the AM/PM letter (located over the flipclock) locked at PM. It should say '10:14 AM' but displaying '10:14 PM'. Maybe needs more testing.
2. Is there any way to change date to 'yyyy.MM.dd'? This is much more familiar than 'dd.MM.yyyy' or 'MM/dd/yyyy' in my country.
Sorry for my bad English and I appreciate your great work!
Muchas gracias, looks very nice and different. I like it a lot Thanks for sharing
Hi again,
Changelog
V3 updated:
-cleared the program panels ongs, so there is no overlapping reflections.
-the settings menu error was solved.
-new shortcut in start menu via which you can access the programs panel menu.
Remember, that you must uninstall any previous version before you install the new Cab. If you have the current v3 installed there is no longer a need to install the fix dunc posted.
We have finally managed to get everything to work and we now are able to provide you with "THE ONE AND ONLY WIDGET". The Widget, that you NEED to have on your homescreen.
This is the SimClock v3.
After hard days of work dunc managed to get the script straight and the Widget got ready to be shared.
Again we obviously want to thank Poyensa for his amazing work on the settings menu, rat_2665 for his patience, support and guidance with problem functions in the scripts, MichelDiamond for his help with the required reg keys and everyone on the DreamTeam for the superb beta testing over the last few days as we got closer to release - without them we wouldn't have the perfect home screen widget!

The SimClock v3 comes with many new features and a redone menu. The Installation is quite simple. Just uninstall any previous versions of the SimClock and then install JML Menu. You can find the link a little later in this post. After that just install the v3 cab and softreset
As you can see on the Screenshots we have included a function that lets you choose whether you want the panels displayed on top of the clock, or below, when you want to add the widget to you homescreen.
I wanted to start with the most impressive feature of the SimClock and this is most likely the new program panel we integrated, that can hold up to 14 quicklinks to programs You can access the program panel by pressing the black background of the widget. By default it is set to show 7 quicklinks. But if you press one empty quicklink you can choose to display 14 and choose the exe files you want to be inside the panel. Furthermore, if you want to you can set a costum icon for every quicklink. If you want to do that make sure the icons are 64x64, 128x128 or 256x256 pngs if not Sense will become very slow and might crash
Another very interesting feature is the ability to set day and night switching options. You can set colors and opacitys in the new menu that change when you check, that you want Day/Night switching.
You are also able to enable a background png that switches day and night, too. If you want to edit the pngs, just edit SimClock_ClockBG_Day.png and SimClock_ClockBG_Night.png and overwrite to your windows directory. If you change back to not using a png then you have to restart sense.
These are the most impressive new features. Furthermore we added:
-Vibrate on Press
-Autoclose panels after a set time.
-Ability to set your own flashlight app.
We hope you enjoy this new Version of the SimClock and plz give us feedback

SimClock v2
As you can see we added some very handy options and addons into this Widget.
But before I tell you what we added I want you to know, that you can edit EVERYTHING in this Widget!
Now for the new features. There now is an option that displays your next alarm time and if you want it can also display how long until your alarm starts. Furthermore we included dunc's Battery widget into v2 so that you now have the battery indicator in 4 different Layouts in 1 Clock widget.
We added a second comm toggle panel which holds switches for Flight Mode, Phone, Data (the data toggle is just a disconnect switch when connected, it doesn't reconnect), Wifi, Bluetooth, Profile and Flashlight. In addition we extended the Quicklink Panel of v1 with anpther quicklink for the File Explorer of you choice.
To access all this amazing features there are 3 Press Areas:
This should give you a quick overview. By repressing the minute and hour digit press areas you can close the Panels again.
Well now the Menu. I have made a little image for you, so that you can see the layout of the JML Menu brought to you by poyensa
As shown you can change the color of all Battery Layouts, the Alarm and the "Time till Alarm", the Background, the Digits, the Date line, and the Line. Furthermore the line and the Backgrounds opacity are editable.
The Battery addition comes in 4 Layouts: Text Battery, Circle Battery with value, Circle Battery with value and % and Circle Battery without value. This way you have the full costumization ability for this Widget.
The Alarm Time etc of course only shows up, if you have an Alarm set
You can also set the path for your favourite File Explorer which than will be accessable by pressing the sixth quicklink. If you are using Resco Explorer you would need to enter \Program Files\Resco Explorer\Explorer.exe.
For any other Programs like Total commander, just find the .exe and then enter the path and you are done
If you want to access all these features you should install the JML MenuSense which you can download here.
If you dont install this you cannot access the Menu, but all the other stuff should be working
Ok that should be enough info We now hope, that you enjoy this widget in which we put much effort and time. Have fun with it^^
You can find the Cab at the end of this post
This is v1
Hi Guys,
its time for some stunned expressions on your faces
After a hard time getting this Widget and all the new features it contains ready we are proud to present to you the SimClock Widget!
This is a collaboration work between Dunc001 and me. Also we want to give tons of "Thank you's" to poyensa who integrated the MenuSense into the Widget and also scripted the .xmu-file!! Thank You!!
To access the extended Widget Settings Menu feature you must first have JMLMenuSense installed. There is no need, but we recommend you install "JMLMenuSenseV1.60.cab" made by JMHL which you can find right here.
This is necessary, so please make sure you install this!!
So but now for the Widget:
The SimClock Widget comes in 4 Layouts. These Layouts define the appearance of the Date text, as you can see in the 4 Screenshots above.
That alone of course isnt it.
Now for the special features :
The SimClock's black background panel reaches the whole screen and is resizable in height. Also when you are resizing it the Clock itself always stays the same size. Only the Background and the line are beeing stretched.
The really cool stuff is coming now:
When you press on the Digits or the Date Text a Quicklink Panel will open beneath the Widget. Within this Panel there are 5 Quicklinks:
Alarm
World Clock
Calendar Tab
Tasks
Contacts
All of these Quicklinks work and take you to the respective tabs or menus
You can close this Panel by clicking on the Clock Widget again.
You should leave a little space beneath the SimClock Widget because if something is put right there, where the Quicklink Panel is supposed to be displayed, it will just be shown behind what ever you have put there. So leave a little space for the Quicklink Panel
If you want to place widgets like a weather widget etc onto the black background panel, you should keep in mind, that the SimClock will most likely be placed over the Widget. That is because the SimClock was the last Widget you installed.
To make it appear in the right fashion we would recommend you to check your registry and uninstall the Widget you have installed after your BG widgets, if you are using them or if not, just any other widget which occupies a slot with a number from 1-10.
If you just install the SimClock after that it will be installed in that very slot and be placed behind all the Widgets which are installed in higher slots
Most of you will know, that you can change colors etc via registry. Thanks to the help of poyensa we managed to make this process a whole lot easier!
When you press on the Clock and let the Quicklink Panel appear you can press into the Red marked area on the screenshot. This will then take you to the Menu you see next to the screenshot.
Within this Menu you can easily change the Color of ALL components, which are the Background, the Line, AM/PM text, Hour Time, Minute Time and Date. Furthermore you can set the opacity for the Background and the Line. This makes it very easy for you to costumize your SimClock and make it fit your personal desires.
A short screenshot of how it could look like can be seen above on the very right screenshot
The installation of this widget is as easy as the procedure for all the other Widgets.
Just install the Cab and softreset
We hope you enjoy this Widget^^

Hi lapis
you have to set the opacity to at least 1 if you set it to 0 then the press area will be visible and the background completely gone. So just set the opacity to 1 and everything should work

Looking forward to installing!

Well I tried it on my device again and again And if I set the opacity to 1 then the background is gone completely
I would suggest you perform a softreset and then try again to adjust the opacity. You have to press Save and Exit if you change anything
If it still wont work plz try uninstalling and installing the widget again should the problems still be there, then plz tell me again^^

There is a safeguard built in so you can't set the opacity to 0 (as npc says this renders the background inactive which means you can't remove or resize the widget in Edit Mode). If you try to set it to 0 the setting will default back to 40 - clever stuff eh!

Hola Poyensa,
unfortunately nothing has changed, changed the registry, reboot, but all the old
I like this SimClock more and more! thanks Dunc001 & NordPolCamper for make it. You have bring the CHT Widgets to a superior stage with the quick-links-pop-up and the settings screen. Regarding this setting screen, this is possible only because the work of JMLH in JMLMenuSense and all the credits must go to him. With JMLMenuSense everybody can create Sense looking menus in a easy way and no need program languaje knowledge.
