stuck in recovery - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

I have reflashed my phone several times before without any problem.
I have a TIM 32A with MyHero rom, and tried to update to the latest CynogenMod. Did the "whipe all" and then tried to to the "wipe SD:ext part" but I only get "Wiping aborted"
So what ever i tried to do now i get "something something aborted"
Without thinking a formated my SD card in my computer, and realized that I deleted my Nandroid backup and it did not help. What ever i tries to in recovery mode o get "aborted"
any suggestions?

have you tried to part sd fat32 from recovery
or fat ext swap
if you formatted with pc you won't have ext partition

Make sure you're hitting "Home" and not "Menu".

Try an official update from HTC but not the latest! As you are updating press the action key ( track ball ) it worked for me!

thanx, an older version worked

I´ve updated to recovery RAv1.2.0 ... everything works ok.
Reloaded the phone. Entered at new recovery. Format SD Card (3 partitions) and wipe.
Reload the phone ... it stucks at Vodafone red splash screen.
Reloaded the phone. Entered at new recovery. Format SD Card (1 Fat32 particion). Wipe again.
Same problem. Stucks at Vodafone screen.
I can enter at recovery and fastboot.
In fastboot mode my PC doesn´t recognise this device. Drivers are correctly installed but i´ve tried to reinstall it anyway. But it doesn´t work. PC beeps in the way it does when a usb device is plugged but thats all.
What can i do? Any idea?
I think about trying to put the sd in the PC (now i cant but maybe later) and put a new rom update.zip and try to flash it ...
Please help me
i think you wiped one time too many. usually you wipe first, then flash a new rom. wipe erases stuff on your internal memory. only wipe before you flash, not after you flash. it seems you wiped after your installed the new recovery and formated the SD which is not needed and may be the problem.
so yeah try reloading the rom. put your sdcard into a usb reader and transfer the rom to your card. put card back into the phone. reboot into recovery and update.zip flash it. that should work. as long as you can get into recovery theres always a way to fix, not bricked.

[Q] Did factory reset brick my phone

Hello - I followed the instructions in this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=935312 thread and successfully rooted my Optimus V.
After a couple days I stopped receiving texts. I called Virgin Mobil and they suggested that I do a factory reset. I did, now my phone just boots to the Adroid System Recovery screen. I have tried retracing my steps and starting from scratch but I can't get Super1click to recognize my phone even if I turn on the USB-MS toggle on the system recovery screen. Is there anything I can do to rectify the problem? Thanks for your time!
Hello,
I was looking at the steps on the link you posted and just curious... did you do step 6
" Go to "Backup" (navigate with volume rocker and click with Home) , and click "backup nand" "
If you did this step you should have a back up that you can recover too in the recovery mode.
Yes - I have tried that with no luck. The backup is there but it returns an error that states the "signature cannot be verified"
I have found I can turn off signature verification. When I do, it tells me it can not find the update script. Any ideas?

As long as you can get to the recovery mode you arent bricked.
Do you know if you are in the stock or the custom recovery mode?
Also what step are you on when you get this msg?
I am in the custom recovery mode. One thing I forgot to mention is the factory reset wiped the SD card and I moved the files back on to the SD card via the USB-MS mode although I am not sure I moved the correct files.
The step this is happening on is when I go to "Flash zip from sdcard" option.
Thanks SO much for your help!

Ok if your not sure you moved the correct file on there just use the "Stock Rom Rooted and De Odexed minus Bloat" download from that page, keep it as a zip file and load it on your sd card via USB Mass Storage and flash from that...keep in mind that will lose all of your previous backup data and start you over fresh.
Thanks again! I will try this tonight. Should I flash the SD card first just to make sure it's a clean install?

I would do a data wipe/clear cache then put the "Stock Rom Rooted and De Odexed minus Bloat" zip file on the sd card and then perform the flash a zip from sd card option.
That got me further than I have gotten. It appears that it installed ok. So I rebooted and went right back into system recovery. What can I try from here?
Im not sure which custom recovery you guys are using but look for an option that says clear dalvik cache and then repeat the same flash from stock rom rooted .zip file

Im not sure how the custom recovery you are using looks but look for wipe/clear delvic cache then try and flash from zip again
SORRY about the double post!

Rebooting problem while in recovery

So i started by downloading the new gingeritis 3d beta 5. I rebooted into recovery, wiped data, cache, and dalvik cache. installed the rom just fine. I rebooted the phone and it just kept showing the splash screen and going black then splash again. I did a battery pull and went to bootloader then to recovery. When i try to install a different rom or do a restore the phone reboots right in the middle of the install/restore.
What do you think the problem is. Can i flash a different rom from the bootloader? is the recovery bad?
Or as a last resort do I have to flash the "Custom upgrade PG05IMG_MR1_upgrade.zip" from the "root your thunderbolt" thread in the bootloader?
Thanks

Try going back into recovery and wipe the three you've stated again, also "format /system" in mounts and storage. It could be something's not getting wiped properly and creating your problem. Then try installing a ROM. If that doesn't fix your problem then replace your recovery with the one I've attached. Copy it to the root of your SD card and install it from the bootloader. If your recovery is the problem that should fix it. Once you've done that try installing a standard ROM like one of the rooted OTA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161251
Thanks for the help and the attachment. I will try it whe n i Get home since im at work. Whenever i try to wipe anything its like im on a time limit where it will restart ofter like 30 seconds no matter what i do.

I just remembered that another person had the same problem as you and it turned out that the Micro SD card was the problem. It makes sense since your installing the ROM from the Micro SD card and then the card craps out causing the reboot. If you don't have another Micro SD card you could format the one you have and that might fix it. Of course you would lose any data on the card.
I tried the new recovery, a new sd card, still same problem. Is there something i can flash in bootloader? like the PG05IMG_MR1_Upgrade? or something else?

You could download an RUU http://dougpiston.com/ThunderBolt/R..._NV_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release_182727_signed.zip and rename it to PG05IMG.zip. That will do a factory restore from the bootloader. You would then need to root the phone again. It's possible the memory on your phone is damaged creating the reboots, Lets hope that's not the case.
Thanks! at least that worked.

Awesome, glad you're up and running again. Remember to delete or rename the PG05IMG.zip on your SD card or next time you go into your bootloader it will try to install the restore RUU again. I've done that before.

[Q] AndroidRevolution 5.2.6 Stopped Booting. CWM Stuck in Loop. Please help!

I have an Inspire 4G. I've been running AndroidRevolution 5.6.2 for awhile now, probably 6 months. It's been running great so I haven't had any reason to mess with it. Today it locked up for no reason (no changes, no new apps, etc). It wouldn't boot beyond the "HTC Quietly Brilliant" splash screen.
I jumped into HBoot and then into CWM (version 2.1.3 RC2). I tried wiping Cache and Dialvik cache and rebooting with the same results.
I then tried a "Fix Permissions" with the same results.
I then tried a "Factory Reset". This time it seemed to give the same results, but when I tried to go back into CWM it loops... it loads the file system list at the bottom below the menu, flashes black, then does it again over and over again. I can control the menus (vol up/down, power) for the split second that they are available but then CWM just restarts, over and over again.
I was going to try Gene Poole Factory Reset tool, but it states that the /cache need to be EXT3 and mine is EXT4.
Is there any hope for me? How can I either get back to stock or at least a working CWM (3.0.2.6 or newer) to load AndroidRevolution 6.3.1?
Please help!

Download the Ace hack kit and take the CWM image in the folder tools/recovery. Rename it PD98IMG.zip and then copy it to the root of your SD card. Boot into Hboot and when prompted press volumen up. That will flash a new recovery image. Then try flashing a new Rom from the CWM...
You shouldn't have made a factory reset without flashing a new Rom.

In the Inspire 4G General forum there is a thread right at the top that explains how to deal with this type of problem. Marsdta also provides links to a Recovery img already in PD98IMG.zip format as well as flashable stock RUUs. That should get you back up and running.
I got a good Recovery installed (CWM 5.0.2.6). From there I ran SuperWipe which completed fine. Next I tried installing the AndroidRevolution 6.3.1 ROM and it failed with "Insallation Aborted" and "Status 7". After that, trying to Super Wipe or install the ROM fails and reports "Status 1". I'm trying to re-format the SD card and re-download the ROM right now. Any other tips?
Thanks in advance!

Try flashing some other rom. Maybe the file is corrupted...try installing RCmix3D or Coredroid or maybe some other rom and see what happens.
I'm getting a lot of errors in CMW along the lines of "E:Can't Mount /cache/recover/log" and "E:Can't Open /cache/recovery/log". When I try to run Super Wipe I also get "(cache is unmounted alread)". Is there some problem with how my cache is formatted, mounted, or something like that? When I try to Mount /cache manualy I get "Error mounting /cache!".
Thanks again.

Don't run the superwipe....flash the recovery and don't wipe anything. Just flash the rom...
Tried that just now. Got as far as
>>> Flashing boot.img
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img" . "boot")
E:Error in /sdcard/Android_Revolution_HD-4G_6.3.1.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Is there anything special I need to do in regards to formatting the SD card beyond FAT32 and full format (not quick)?

Do the following....try to change SD card, and don't flash Android Revolution...try to flash this:
http://rcmix3d.blogspot.com/2011/11/rcmix3d-runny-v40.html
Flash that rom to see what happens. Two options, or the zip file you are trying to flash is corrupted or the SD card is having issues...try the rom I posted, if is not working then try with another SD card....that should solve the problem
Formatting the SD card is a possible way of solving corrupted patitions....
Tried this. Flash of the rom seems to have completed but wouldn't boot beyond white HTC screen. Rebooted and still wouldn't boot past white HTC screen. Re-entered CWM, cleared data, tried flash again. This time the flash seemed to load correctly but now I can't even power on... complete brick...
Is there any chance to save my phone?

Ummmm...things are not good. But I heard that if the partitons are corrupted then you are lost. Try leaving the phone with no battery for a while. Then try to boot it...and see what happens. If it boots butvis still stuck in hboot, then return to stock with Gene Pole's tool and make a warranty claim. If you cannot even turn it on...then do the same. But if your carrier finds out you jhave been messing with your cell then you won't get much...

Total brick. Had to be hardware failure that initiated the downward spiral. Luckily I have an ATT DCS Center nearby and the swapped the phone out with a new(ish) one within about 3 minutes of troubleshooting. Thanks again for all the help. Not sure what ROM to flash to the new phone, though all I really want is tethering... Is there anything else out there as "stock" as Android Revolution HD 6.3.1?

Well you can just root the phone and maintain the stock rom...or there is ERBUS ROM that is just stock but without ATT bloatware and some other stuff...anyway you can just check some other roms and decide by yourself...there is no correct answer for that!! glad u solved it.

[A510] Bootloop, can´t install any rom

hello there, i have a serious problem:
i had my a510 with unlocked bootloader and had the CM11 rom installed...so far, so good: all of a sudden when reading a PDF, it shut down, rebooted, went into a bootloop showing the acer logo.
i had also CWM installed, tried EVERYTHING there to erease cache and stuff like that..nothing worked it started flashing a different rom...no success...
i´ve already installed TWPR 2.7.0.0....worked until the point where i wanted to install a new rom...installing works, saying "successful" but in the lower left corner it says:
E: error opening ' /data/tf '
E: error: I/O error

can anybody help me please?! this is driving me insane!!
EDIT1:
i tried formatting DATA....after 5 minutes still no luck....it keeps "formatting data". could this be the reason for everything?!
EDIT2:
adb shell
recovery --wipe_data
did the trick!!!! i went back to TWRP, wiped DATA, no errors in /data/tf this time...clean installed CM11...and now it works again
Try to flash back CWM, format every partition (via the advanced menu)
and then flash a ROM like CM11
