Forcing landscape mode on D2 apps

I know there are apps developed here to enable various programs to react to landscape mode. Does it work with the D2? If so, can you please post a link here?

Yes，it work well on my td2.

I've tried to install G-Config from the attached CAB file, however when I launch it i get an error saying it requires a newer version of the Microsoft .NET compact framework than I currently have. Does anyone know where i would get this.
I tried running windows update on my phone but it didn't find anything.

google for compact .net 3.5

I tried it, and it works - but some applications don't support it. The most surprising one is iGo 8.

igo8 either start in landscape or portrait. it can't be change with any rotation programm. and besides you can rotate igo8 in its own menu.

Even when I try to change it from the menu, it doesn't work. It makes iGo freeze...

maybe you are not using the right sys.txt. Mine works fine

According to iGo 8 website it doesn't support the td2 screen resolution.

Here's my IGO8 sys file, rotate works great for me, point to note I am using the HD Branding.zip and Data.zip also.

Hello... Im just to right install G-config, but, Im really dont understand how to add new apps... I press the button... and one layer apear in the bottom of display... and it say something like I put there the app i want to turn it... but how do it?Imvery confuse...thanks to anybody could help me...
Other point its I already change something in reg to can turn word and excell, but they dont do it... that when I install G-config, him recognize like word and excell can turn it screen into landscape mode, but in the fact they dont do it... very weird... thanks.

I have added MS Word and Excel. The main screen of these programs are viewable in landscape, however when viewing a document, it switches back to portrait mode. What's the clue?

I try use g-config with less alcohol in my blood... I understand how it work... I dont know inside the stylus pocket is one sensor... jajaja Now G-config is working... less with word and excel. I delete, and try put them isnide again, and softreset, but them dont want...
I could make touchflo do it... but i need activate manila in landscape to true... and it works... thanks.

Excel works with G-config but Word or YouTube are stubborn and stay in portrait mode

iGO8 and HTC HD2 aka LEO

I am starting this since there will be a lot of users of iGO8 on Leo,so there will be a lot of questions with system.txt and skins.
In the meantime for the lucky users of HD,Gurjon just released skin with 480x800 AND 800x480 resolution(yes,finaly it has PORTRAIT mode!) and it looks sooo good on HD.I can only imagine how great it will be on Leo

Where can i see this?

I do not want to promote anybody for any skins but I played a lot with skins since original iGo8 skin is a basic one witout to much customization and my experience is that Gurjon skin(www.gurjon.com) is the most advanced and best looking(compared to Kikker and Dimka) and now in portrait mode is easily the least crumped with data(you see the road clearly and without destruction but you have on the same time all information)

it looks like HTC made some universal zooming utility.. you can see, zooming is same like zooming in album while video playing...

I have it installed on my HD2, but no finger zooming!
Would not make any "sense" as it zooms the app.
Note: had to make a few changes in the sys.txt

This Gurjon skin is no good either. It just crashes every single time when previewing a route. It seems something is wrong with the lane change signs. Igo crashes as soon as they are supposed to pop up. Works fine with the standard skin though.

Gps is the real interest for me.
So I tried any type of Navigation soft on my HD.
But skins in iGO mostly have problems, you may understand these problems while using the soft.
So iGO is vey useful with its own skin..
I thinks that no extra skin is needed.
However these are good jobs..

igo8 portrait OK landscape in VGA ???

When i run igo8 i portait it is in WVGA but in landscape it runs in VGA with black space on the right ...any help? idea ?

have you tryed to rotate the screen in to landscape mode before you start IGO ?

I run IGO8 with script for Mortscript, its easy and rotates screen before run IGO8 and after end IGO8 rotates back.
Just install Mortscript and save these to file IGO.txt, copy to PDA and rename to IGO.mscr and run

sys.txt should have a line resolution_dir="320_240" to work in portrait mode and 240_320 for landscape

I have iGO8 ver-8.3.2.83157,and it work fine with touch 2,if some one want it i can give it but it is 600mb large file.
Only thing you must find some maps cause i got only for my country.

Keyboard problems
I'm no novice at this, and ahve installed IGO8 and Tomtom on several differetn windows mobile devices... but on my new touch2, I have a problem - the keyboard seems to work incorrectly, whenever I go to address input, there's alreads an accented 'A' at the start, that I can't delete. This happends on whatever version of IGO I try, versions that work fine on other devices.

Go to settings->device->and set "use device settings"

Sys.txt line for power settings...
Add
[power]
backlight_events = 3
to your sys.txt (in the device file inside the data.zip they changed this to 1,3,5,7 or so and this generates unwanted key events...)
It will work no matter what you set in power settings.

Igo 8.3.2.97313 + HD2 + auto-rotation/tilt + HIGH RESOLUTION - how to?...

Currently trying 9.3.2.97313 on Winmo 6.5 emulator (haven't got my hd2, yet) and I'm having difficulty configuring it to support both high-resolution landscape (800x480) and portrait (480x800) formats. inside the folder "ui_igo8" (located in data.zip) there are two sub-folders - "480_800" and "800_480", as well as some lower resolutions sub-folders, but they are irrelevant for us.
How do I set the "sys.txt" file?... I found out that "sys.txt" has to be configured correctly before installation. further changes to this file after the program is installed, won't apply in any case.
Did someone manage to make igo8 switch between the formats using the device's rotation-sensor (while maintaining the high resolution format), or its somewhat reinforced to support one format?...
Here's what I tried so far (pictures + "sys.txt" settings for each example) :

of course, I can switch between 800_480 to 480_800 inside sys.txt each time before I install the application, but it won't make the application do the switch automatically. I tried to set two individual "resolution_dir", won't change anything.
I read that htc HD users tend to add "autoconfig=1" under [rawdisplay], in order to make it switch (I doubt it'll maintain the correct resolution, it will probably use stretch/resize algorithms instead of using original files). as you can see, I tried that also, but it won't change anything.
I'll appreciate any suggestion...

I do not think iGO8 can switch the screen automatically. It need to be restarted each time for screen rotation.

That´s right. Unfortunately you have to restart iGO after manually setting your direction in the settings.
I hope in future it, just like CoPilot, rotates automatically and pinching will be available.

I instal the iGO 8.3.xx with 2009.02 europ maps ... but after I walk 1 km the device has blocked
if I instal iGO 8.0.xx with old maps ... the device function very well ... but iGO 8.0.xx dont sport the new maps 2009.02
i think the device Mio A501 dont have inought memory for iGO 8.3.xx ... in this case what can I do, what must to write or change in the sys.txt

On iPhone version, iGO MyWay 2009, it can rotate screen automatically using G-sensor, but not in Windows Mobile version. iGO should be restarted each time But may be in iGO 8.4 amigo (same as iGO myWay 2009 iphone version), but I can try it after 3 days.. (my leo comes)

I hate amigo's GUI, too simplified. I'd rather wait for the next navn'go.

You have it in the settings: Just go to Settings -> Device -> Set Screen Orientation.

iGo problem

Hi smart headz
I have igo 8.3.2.64873 everything is runnin on my hd2.
everything is fine except the fact that when i enter to search for a destination, somehow the character Å seems to be being pressed. That way, im not able to enter any text.....
anyone to help me?

Are you sure this isn't happening while turning your device from portrait to landscape or vice versa?
It happens at TomTom as well.
