u need to force it into bootloader mode then flash it from an sd card or comp dont know how to get into it on sprint one, if its same u hold volume down button, and soft reset it should show up with a tri colored screen, then conect it to your comp or flash a compatible rom withan sd card more on that in forums and make sure u have hrad spl for cdma devices before u do anything else. if u need a video or something tell me lol.

Where's the link to the ROM you downloaded?
Energy Rom's are for GSM carriers. Sprint is a CDMA carrier. Follow Reaverclan's advice.
I've tried to boot it into the bootloader screen by holding the volume down button and pressing the reset button with the stylus, it does the same thing.. it just boots into first splash screen that says HTC Touch Pro, it stays like that for about 20 seconds and restarts, then it vibrates and turns on with the same logo. It repeats this process.
Need the link or the file name you d/l for use. Raph or herman it should say. that will tell us immediately.
I found out i actually have to hold both power and volume down, i'm now in the bootloader screen. Thanks everyone who helped.

sorry u have to do this to get to it in cdma phones i guess: NOTE: you will not see the SPL version during normal boot, that is the OS version, not SPL!
to enter bootloader mode to see version: with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button along with the power button, then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the volume down and power buttons when bootloader tricolour screen appears. MAKE SURE U HAVE THE RIGHT HARD SPL FOR YOUR PHONE NOT GSM OR IT WILL BRICK. make sure u have this one.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3673632&postcount=2

So... I've tried to update my rom and I've done it. Didn't like the ROM and tried to change it.
soooo. I messed everything up. My magic can't boot (it stalls on the boot screen showing "HTC Magic") and most important, I can't enter fastboot to restore a working ROM
Any ideas on this one before I go to HTC Support?

can you not get to the mode pressing home and power.
from there you should be able to use adb push to send new update to sd card

nope. Every key combined with the power button just boots the device and show the "htc magic" logo. nothing more.
I had the same sort of thing once. I removed the battery and before I put it back, I already pressed the home-key as well. Then it went into fastboot mode after I put it back in. With this way I could sent a new update.zip to the phone, flash it and then it was working again
Hope this helps

Well, it's not hard to send the update.zip. I can use a microSD 2 USB and copied it that way.
By the way I think it's the "return" key to enter fastboot. Not "home".
Tried the battery-removal trick. Didn't work.
Take out your battery, hold the volume down button and put the battery back in whilst you're holding the volume down. This in theory should bring you to fastboot. Just keep holding the volume down until you reach the fastboot screen. If after you put the battery in, nothing happens, keep holding the volume down and press the power button...
Should work...

One other thing to try is to hold the two left most keys on the front of the phone (these are different depending on your phone brand) whilst holding power, this will take you to a recovery screen where perhaps you can do something from there?
I'm assuming you get to see a splash screen first and then you see the HTC Magic logo...

the 2 most left keys are the "answer" and "home" buttons. tried it. still getting the logo.
the phone vibrates and shows the logo...
Turn it in for repairs.

Well, I am exlcuding the green call button and the red end button (which you use to run on your phone), but if it's freezing at the logo where it vibrates, then there is a problem.
I had a similar thing, but I was able to boot my phone into fastboot/recovery with the battery trick.
My two left buttons on my device are the home button and the menu button. Try holding this down when you put the battery back in. Unfortunately, the situation doesn't sound too hopeful.

did you try powering on while holding only the home button?
im running the mighty war rom and my phone has hard reset itself 5 times now and now this morning it is frozen at the first screen where it says touch pro2 and has the red letters at the bottom left of the screen. I am looking for a way to get it to connect to the computer so i can relock it and reflash the orignal rom and send it back so please help. Davey
Put phone in bootloader and then flash away. With phone off hold volume down and end keys for a few seconds.
do I need to hold the button on top down the black light one. or just the red end key and volume down key? thanks
got it flashed to mr. x rom and it is working fine now. thanks for the help
Hello, I got hold of an HTC G1 but it seems like it's bricked. When I turn on the phone it shows the T-Mobile G1 screen then boots into recovery every time, even though I never press the home button. Looks like this phone boots into hboot by holding the return button instead of the photo one, is that normal? I tried restoring the phone with the DREAIMG.nbh but when it instructs me to press the send button or any other key to cancel nothing happens. When I am in the recovery mode the keys seem to work as I can alt+s and alt+w. Is there some way I can fix this or might this be a bad keys/buttons case?
Thanks for reading.
EDIT: Sorry, I just noticed I posted in the wrong section. Mods please move/delete the thread, thanks.
I wanted to install cynagoenmod so
1. I unlocked bootloader using HTC dev
2. I flashed cwm recovery
3. I flashed boot.img extracted from the cynagoenmod release
it was stuck in the boot-up at the HTC logo with the disclaimer text "this build is meant for developers....."
I had to run an errand so I left it as is.
when I got back it wouldn't turn on
wont blink the soft-keys after holding the power button for 10 seconds
wont boot into bootloader when holding both the vol- and power button
when connected to the charger the LED stays on orange for about a minute and turns off
only response it does a flash of white (like this like when u close the TV effect ) after holding the power button for 20 seconds
any advice would be welcome
Just keep holding the power button and also the volume down button for 20-30 seconds. It should pop into HBOOT.
If you see the screen flashing white that should mean it isn't hard bricked.

That's strange. Does your PC detect it when you connect via USB?
Plug it in and if nothing happens, press/hold all three buttons in different combinations and sequences and hopefully something should happen.

Hello Everyone. I recently got this HTC One S from a friend but it won't boot. If I want to boot it , I have to plug it in and press the power button even tho the battery is working. Sometimes before the phone even shows the HTC screen, the touch buttons blink then it boots into this screen. It's stuck like this forever. I tried accessing recovery/hboot through the power+volume buttons but it did not work. Any help to make it boot into android?

Hi, i hope i can help you.
Hold the Power and the Volume down button. When the Phone is starting and the touch buttons are blinking DO NOT let go the buttons until the screen turns black. Now let go the buttons and press them again immedeatly (up to 15 seconds) until the screen turns on again. Now you should be in fastboot/hboot.
If you need further help, I'm around.
Good luck

It doesn't work since the phone auto startsup for some reason even if I unplug the battery, and replug it.

So you tried the procedure with plugged and unplugged battery and non of the hardware buttons is responding?
If so, and the computer doesn't recognize the device in any way, you need someone smarter than me. I'm sorry.
My next tip would be to disassemble the device and check for hardware problems.
I hope you find a solution

My computer detects it as an android device but can't mount it and adb/fastboot wont recognise it
