Hi all. I'm cooking my own roms for my Opal using ervius visual kitchen and everything just cooks into the windows folder. That would be fine but I want to cook in Opera and Google Maps and those need to cook into specific folders or they don't work. Can someone help me fix this?

Hi all,
I have installed Visual studio 2005, and wanted to start building application for WM6 based pocket PCs...
in the VB.Net section, there is separate section, for smart devices but in the VC section there is nothing like, that, i want to improve my VC skill as VB i am using past 4 yrs, and developed nice applications..
Kindly suggest me that how can i start with VC in visual studio 2005.
If you are aware of some resource web site, where i can get some basic tutorials, and all, that will be appreciated..
Thanks a lot..
you have to install the wm6 stk then you get a smartdevice "dir" under visual c++

Attention..
to develop an app for WM6 you have to install SP1 for Visual Studio 2005 first.. then you can add the "feature" to dev WM6 Apps

hey everyone
first of all i would like to congratulate Dr. Martin Gonzo for his amazing ROM.
now, since i've seen that many people have already tried and are currently using his rom, you definitely have some of your other apps instaled
what i would like to know is:
wich apps do you think work best with the Windows Mobile 6.1 version
or that you find them practical or indespensable
if you can, put a thumbnail of you 6.1 screen
would like to see come cool backgrounds with the 6.1
please share the links if possible
cheers everyone
there is a best apps thread here for wm6.0.
i guess it should be pretty much the same applications for wm6.1 also.
Check out the CHome Configurator. It'll let you customize your sliding panel home screen easily. Here's the link to the excalibur thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393104
Total Commander, Its got to be the best Freeware File Manager for Windows Mobile. It allows you to work with files in ROM unlike File Explorer, allows you to edit the registry and even has an ftp client built in.
Roland
Based off WM6.1 Slim 3.1. Most of it has been cleaned up. All customizations are in OEM/Merlin's Customizations.
Release Notes:
Move Famewolf's Activesync fix to SYS and remove the "Bluetooth" folder in there.
Most of my apps included are in there. Post back to this thread with issues/fixes/anything of relevance to fellow cookers.
Please use the Hypercore kitchen, as it's the one I've used extensively.
Pagepool is set at 4 MiB.
Please post back to this thread with cooked ROMs and I'll put up links. As always, have fun cooking!

.NetCF 2.0 in this kitchen, does it work?
I have been having an issue with .NetCF 2.0 not working in WM6.1 ROMs (or at least .NetCF 2.0 reliant apps not working). I currently have a re-cooked 5.2.19588 ROM which is almost perfect for what I want, however I cannot get .NetCF 2.0 working. I have tried cooking it with 3.5 removed and replaced by 2.0, tried cooking it with 3.5 and adding the 2.0 .CAB after, tried cooking it with neither and adding just the 2.0 .CAB after and also tried cooking with neither and adding both after. All of which have been unsucessful.
I have three .NetCF 2.0 apps in my ROM - Schaps VoIP configuration tool, the NoData GPRS tool and a Threaded SMS disable/enable tool, all fail to start and it is because .NetCF 2.0 isn't there or there is a problem with it.
MobileCalculator and LiveSearch work and these are .NetCF applications but I think they work with .NetCF 3.5 without any issues.
I noticed in this Kitchen .NetCF 2.0 is included, so does it work? Can anyone confirm this with the apps I listed? Plus if anyone knows why .NetCF 2.0 fails to work with WM6.1 ROMs and if there is any resolution for it?
Cheers
Andy
