If anyone has already asked about any of these questions i apologize in advance, i have however been trying to find an answer to this problem for a week now. I'm not sure if anyone else has been having these problems but i've searched everywhere and couldn't find an answer. I have a g1 with cyanogen 4.1.999 and the newest recovery just in case that helps.
I have apps to SD so all of my market downloads were saved there, however i had to remove the partition and make a new one and all the apps were deleted, but on the market download list they still all show up and it won't let me uninstall or open the apps, which leaves me without the apps that i always use everyday.
I was thinking a factory reset might work, but i don't have the data plan either, and the way to get around the sign in screen with adb i've tried before with no success.
I've tried signing in with another account name but the download list is cleared but when i search for the apps they still are shown as installed.
When i go to the manage applications in settings i find all the files for the old supposed "deleted" apps, as in "com.bgh.goalkicker" but when i selet any of them it says "application not found" i have no idea how to delete these files!
I was thinking maybe that if i did a factory resent and then flashed a hero rom, since the set up screen lets you set up your wifi before signing into your google account, maybe that could work and i could still sign in with no data plan?
Anyone, please help it would be VERY appreciated, and if this has already been answered somewhere else and i haven't found it, i apologize greatly!

Why would you buy such a nice, expensive smartphone, go through the trouble of putting cyanogenmod on it, and NOT have a data plan?

I posted this in the original rooted rc30 thread, but its still an issue
After updating to the test keys with rc30 1.0 and 1.1, myfaves reports it is not installed and google calander, google reader, and my contacts won't sync with my google account, however my gmail still does.
This sounds like the same lissue people were having when they would uninstall the myfaves.obex and myfaves.apk from the /systemn/app file, as per the "uninstall/rtemove MyFaves" thread, but those files are still there.
I use myfaves a fair amount, and online managment of the contacts is up for the g1 for some reason, so I have to use my sim card in someone elses phone to change them.
Not to mention my calander isnt syncing, which is a problem.
I have dug through all the of the files I can think of, and come up with nothing. I even redownloaded the update.zip and rechecked the md5 on the old and new, and both are perfect
If anyone cant verify this issue, or help in any way, Id be very appreciative

Have you tried re-installing the modified RC30 v1.1 update? It's possible one of the files might have got corrupted as it was copying to the /system folder.
It might be a pain, but you could also try reseting the phone (alt+w in recovery mode). You'll lose all the data on your phone, but it will stay at the same version you have installed - modified RC30v1.1
If that doesn't work, run adb shell logcat > logcat.txt and post it here. You might mess with the sync settings a bit while logcat is running - turn on and off syncing for contacts/calendar/etc.

I take this to mean you have myfaves installed and I am an isloted incident?

I've never had myfaves installed actually. The myfaves apk is in my /system/app folder of course, but I don't have the actual myfaves functionality. Isn't it an extra service you have to pay monthly for? I don't have the service, and I assume it has someway of checking that and not exposing the myfaves functionality when that is the case.
So it's a bit hard for me to test, because I would have to way to know whether any changes I try work or not
I'll take a look at the logcat file, and see if it sheds any light on the problem, thanks.
Is there anyone out there with modified RC30 that still *does* have the actual myfaves functionality on their phone?
I notice an error with the timezone in your logcat file.

Concerning my faves. I clears the cache or tried to uninstall it after I updated to your modified rc30. I lost all my contacts .
Normally, when you add a contact, it looks through your gmail contacts but those are all gone. How do I get all that back?

oh i just synced the contacts and got everything back
moral of story: i think everytime you clear myFaves, it deletes all your contacts

the myfaves icon should have been on teh home screen by deault, if it is still there, when you try to tap it, it should either open or say that the applicaiton is not installed
the proper time zone

Yes, I have had 3 american phones. The first was RC19 when I got it, and I honestly can't remember if it had a myfaves icon on it or not. That particular phone is currently on official RC30 and it does not have a myfaves icon.
The other two phones were RC28 when I bought them, and I'm sure neither of them had a myfaves icon.
That's why I'm guessing it somehow checks if you are signed up for the myfaves service with t-mobile. If not, then it doesn't show the icon. Who knows though..

The myFaves app is installed on all US phones but not displayed. The myFaves app is the one that has to do with contacts. Deleting myFaves or erasing the cache deletes your contacts and you will not be able to add any.

i need some advice as this facebk login problem is driving me insane
previously i could click the save login and password details and i would automatically login too my facebk account if i pressed the facebk icon.
but now everytime i click on it from my quicklinks its keeps asking me too enter my login details and password everytime i load the app!!
this wasnt a problem in the past and i am wondering if theres a REG EDIT ineed inplace for this app too save my details and log me in automatically like before

Anyone have a fix? I tried the other version I have 1.0 (I forget the exact version #) and that doesnt save the info either.. both versions do create the registry keys for the login info and also the save login key is set to "1" but it doesnt pick it up when I run the program again..
any additional help would be appreciated...

so i was having the same problem, with facebook app not saving my login info. i just kept installing dif. verisons til i went to 1.17 (which i got from open market) and it worked. im a new user so it wont let me post the link to open market but its on freewarepocketpc. so u can find it there.

I dont use the MYPHONE APP so I dont think that is my issue.. ALSO, I already had the same version 1.1.0.17 which someone said resolved the issue. I reinstalled the one from the freewarePPC and same ISSUE.. in fact I get an issue CAN NOT UNINSTALL THE PREVIOUS VERSION and then a ERROR INSTALLING but it did install everything
exact same issue here, have also updated to latest version from MarketPlace, still doesn't save login. Highly irritating!
It happened to me before, end up have to do a hard reset to fix it.

i think thats the fastest alternative now...
i did the same cycle as most of you here, still no luck in solving the issue. then, one hard reset solve the login issue....

this happened to me too after installing swype so I guess it doesn't only delete wlan and email login data but also keeps deleting facebook login...
but now it works...I have the newest version from market place.
ive done this:
linked my personal telephone data with facebook and also changed the key
HKLM/SOFTWARE/HTC/HTCAccountManager/
and change the key
FacebookSavePassword to 1
maybe you dint need to link your profile to your phone and just change the key, just try it, but for me it worked like this, hope for you all too...

I had the same problem after installing the wrong version of Swype. All my login/password settings were disappeared. The facebook logins also disappeared. After an hard-reset all went back to normal behavior.

Im not doing a hard reset just for ONE APP. I have set keys (not that there are that many) to enter my login name and password when I press them. Its that easy!

Hi there, I got a free account for APP Hub because im a student, however I cant seem to unlock my device? It wont let me? I verified my e-mail however it still wont let me unlock when I use the windows phone tools. Please help
Just found out that i need to make a dummy app, thanks anyway! However can i sideload as many apps as i want to or is there a limit? If there is a limit how many? As I might just use chevron!
With the student account you can only side load 5 apps, how ever there is a tool somewhere that can fix this problem.

I've been having this problem for months now. I notice that there are times when I am unable to be invisible on Gchat.. I get the error message saying that I'm signed in else where.
Anyway, I've tried all tricked in the book, change passwords, sign out of all sessions (via my inbox all the way at the bottom), stopped using 3rd party IM programs (e.g. iChat and Trillian)... still no luck. I only use Gchat in browsers or on my phone.
I've created a dummy account to see if I'm still signed in.. sure enough, I get the green globe (minus webcam abilities)... so that's how I can tell if I'm really signed on..
A search on google isn't helpful either. Most threads are dated or don't give any useful information.
Trying my luck on this forum. Anyone else have this issue and figured out what to do?

hello, looking setup, applications google talk stop, delete data and uninstall, then located in the web goo.im/gapps the latest package for your phone, unpacking talk.apk and put it in SD and install it. remember to backup before you do it if you could have problems either.
Hi I am new to xda and I hope I am posting this in the correct place. If not just let me know. If this has been addressed elsewhere on this forum I could not find it.
Well my issue is that I have installed Mavrom 4.5 on my Motorola Milestone/Droid 3 XT861. I have the radio flashed to the XT883 version with the build.prop. There seems to be issues with the toolbox that I can't figure out. For example. I am trying to install the theme RipperRed and it does nothing. It shows "installing null" then reboots. Starts back up and nothing. No changes. I read somewhere to go online and download the zip file online and manually install through bootstrap. I am not really familiar with how to do that but I can figure it out. If I only had the freaking red ripper theme zip file. I have googled like crazy and have found only one place where the zip resides and that's droidforums .net
Problem is the link sends me to minus .com and no matter what I click the page just refreshes. I assumed I needed to sign up for an account with minus but I don't want to do that. I'm not into tracking and location software for many reasons. And it seems I could not set up an account on my pc with minus because the same deal upon clicking the register link. Refresh, telling me to go to google store on my phone and install it. Well I love mavrom but these issues are killing me. Does anyone have the ripperred theme to send me and/or any info on how to install? Or how I can fix the mavrom toolbox. There are other issues with the mavrom 4.5 toolbox as well but I'll just deal with this right now. Thanks in advance!!!
