Doesanyone know where i could get the new manilla 2.5 rom for verizon touch pro 2. I keep seeing new roms out on www.thewingster.com but they are for gsm only. They might add a cdma section but they havent yet. Are there any similar sites for cdma touch pro 2.
Thank you in Advance.
Yes, there are technically roms available but we can't install them yet because we need the Hard SPL (unlocker) to be released which is not yet done. Here is a great website to find roms and updates on what's going on - http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=98
Thank you for your help. If anyone else has any other sites fell free to post it.

First post so here it goes!
I've recently bought a second hand HTC Diamond (P3700) with windows mobile 6.1 from HTC in Taiwan. They were awesome with the price and giving me loads of extras for this great phone. The phone was originally in Chinese mandarin but the nice people at HTC converted it to English.
So after a few weeks of playing with the phone and doing some online searching I've found XDA-Developers and people modding, tweaking, upgrading their phones. I thought to myself that this site is like the Holy Grail! So now I'm wanting to to upgrade my ROM but I don't want to do it at the cost of my phone not working based on my location.
So I would like to know my options. I've already seen some excellent looking ROM's but Im not sure if they will make or break my HTC Touch Diamond so any guidance would be very much appreciated.
My current Phone Stats are as follows:
ROM Version: 2.03.707.2
ROM Date: 12/26/08
Radio Version: 1.09.25.23
Protocol Vesion: 52.51.25.26U
Please note the phone is Unlocked using a TaiwanMobile (TWM) Sim card. If any more information is required please let me know I would love to start flashing right away! Thanks again in advance.
Welcome to forum
As long as you follow instructions you´ll be fine upgrading your ROM
read here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Diamond
Then go to Diamond section, select your desired ROM and enjoy!
Good luck,
Thanks for the reply! I'm looking forward to flashing away. I also wanted to know if there is a performance difference when flashing from a 6.1 to a 6.5? I know a lot of people doing it but is there a trade off in doing so.
As 6.5 UI is more " highly graphic" it will be a little bit slower, but nothing too much to worry
I am using it on a 2005 Universal with 64mb of RAM
So it´s ok!
Thanks for your 2 cents, I hope flashing a new ROM will save me time modding my diamond

If you take a look in the diamond rom forum you will find several guides on upgrading a rom and radio. This is probably the best place to start.
Im using a 6.5 rom on my diamond (BSB 6.5 M) at the moment and it is very good. as fast as some 6.1 roms i have used. The 6.5 builds do have some bugs and issues as they are all still beta test versions but im find my current one ok.
I was also curious to what does the radio do. Like i get updating the ROM but why is there a need to update the radio? Im assuming it has something to do with the phone and how it handles reception. My phone at the moment is running great on stock 6.1 but if i upgrade to 6.5 would i need to change my radio?
I got a new tpro 2 october 2009 edition(10-01-2009)wm6.5. I would like to know how too see versions of applications that the phone uses.I want too change themes and things like that. what is the newst wm6.5 rom and radio rom? And can someone tell me the other name for the touch pro 2. I see alot of different versions of touch pro 2's. I bought mine through MTN in south africa. Thank u.

OK, now, I've searched the forum, but can't find the exact answer to my question. I have flashed multiple ROMs for my HTC Touch Pro2, but I was wondering. If the Manila leaks and tweaks for the HTC HD2 can be used for the TP2, would it also be possible to, for a say, port the Sony Ericsson X2's ROM to the TP2? Because Manila is tweaked more and more, but I would like to experience what the X2 feel on a TP2 would be like. I'm thinking WM to WM should be possible, but have no idea of the amount of work involved. I'm also curious for the speed it will or won't have on my device.
I know there's some .cab to get the panels item working a bit, but I'm looking for 'everything'..
Maybe the X2 is the wrong example, because the hardspl isn't fixed yet, but the packages are, right? Else: take the X1 for example.
Thanks in advance for any answers!
Hello,
I have HTC Touch pro that i got from my sister in Australia (3). The phone has:
os 5.2.21916
I am using this in Canada on Fido.
Now the question I have is:
- Is there any official upgrade i can do to this phone? WM 6, 6.1, 6.5??
- As you see I am using a Australian phone in Canada.. I dont really need data. I do use WiFi.. What would be a good ROM for the following criteria:
- FAST
- Bug Free
- Do not care as much for a lot of apps except MS office
- Will be installing Garmin XT
I am a total noob to this whole ROM thingi.. Please help...
no 6.5 official roms exist, official 6.1 and below exist. you can install garmin on any version. NATF (not a treo fan) used to make v. good roms, some versions include stripped down roms for max performance.
some people complain that the sense interface slows down that phone, so check and if you don't like it, you can disable it.
double post, plz delete.
Thanks for the reply..
So I guess the next question is how do I get the official 6.1 ROM (not a cooked one) for this phone.
I checked the HTC site but they don't have anything that I can find....I tried the HTC australia site and the last release is:2008-12-04
From the HTC www site I see there is: 2009-08-30
htc.com/www/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=140&act=sd&cat=2
Can someone confirm that i can put this on my phone which has OS5.1 currently?
Sorry for spammin.. but I guess my confusion is from the fact that..
After I installed the ENERGY 6.5 ROM, the Settings>about tells me that OS is 6.5
but when i do settings>Phone info>SW info: It says Os version is: 5.2.21916
So I guess the question is how do I updated my phone's base OS to 6.1
You should do a little more research before posting
I'm not trying to be rude, but you're going to run people down really quick with this line of questioning. Most of the answers to your questions could be answered by just reading more threads, maybe even a little wikipedia. I'll give you one hint: your phone does not have (nor did it ever have) Windows Mobile 5, and there is no such thing as WinMo 5.1 or 5.2. Unless your sister installed a new ROM, you've got Windows Mobile 6.1.
Now, go back and do some more research and decide for yourself: what ROM do you want to install? Is there a reason you don't want a cooked ROM? (is it because you believe that the "official" ROMs somehow are better?)
Good luck!
You can test what rom you like by flashing different ones rather than ask "what rom is the best?" I have no idea what your tastes are. It doesn't hurt to flash different roms as long as you back up your data
In my opinion, the custom roms blow away official roms in terms of performance and cosmetics. (All my opinion, you choose for yourself)
Hey this is my first visit to the TP2 forums, (i'm always browsing the EVO forums). The last windows phone i had was a Touch Pro (Raphael).
I flash custom ROM's for my EVO all the time but I have really lost touch with the windows scene. My brother has a TP2 (CDMA - Sprint) and he would like to flash a ROM (first time).
Any recommendations on some good, stable, fast ROM's. And do the Windows phones need to be "unlocked" like an Android phone?
Sorry for all the questions, but some info would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance.
Theres a post in the beggining of this forum called "{ROMS} Links to all CDMA ROMS..." theres a variety of ROMS you could browse to choose the one that fits your (or your brother needs. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686903)
Anyways my personal selection has always been the EnergyROM series http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/cdma-tp2-...gy-may-14-21916-29020-sense-2021-flavors.html
Ive found them to be fast, SUPER stable, fully costumizable and they are regulary improved and updated.
Unlocker (idk if this is what you mean): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578642
Remember to run the HARD-spl before flashing a custom ROM on the TP2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578660
Hope it helps
