Streaming CNN Live TV - General Questions and Answers

Is anyone able to stream CNN Live TV on there phone? I used to be able to catch the news here using Sprint TV but they removed it from their list along with most other stations (thats whole other thread though). I am trying to find a working stream I can plug into Media Player or the like. I wish I could use Orb or something similar but its just not in the budget.
If anyone has any solutions here I would appreciate it...I have been looking for this answer since May and have had no luck. All the streams that I could find did not work anymore and the TV apps I have pulled down didn't seem to work either. I appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks!

streaming media

hey guys, just wondering if there are any good media streaming apps out there, an app kinda like orb for the iphone where i can stream movies and songs from my pc to my phone. obviously there will be some apps out there that will do it but i just wanna see your recomendations, preferably freeware but if its paid i dont mind. i have a hd2 aswell so im not sure about compatability issues, resolution, touchscreen etc so hopefully someone with a hd2 has an app like the one i have described and can point me in the right direction
seriously no one knows of anything like im asking?
Have you tried Kinoma?
I use Kinoma to stream Audible content and Youtube daily. It has an Orb client built in as well. I haven't had great success with the Orb though. I think my library is so large that it takes a while for each screen of the library to appear. Once a file is selected the streaming works fine.
Well, for Windows Mobile I have written a widget with a streams database. The only negative point of the widget is that you can't stream from your computer, however you will have access to a database with over 11.000 television, webcam and radio streams.

A paid version (and another demo version) can be found in the MarketPlace, the full version has quite some options.
But since you want to stream from your pc, you could try myStreams from the MarketPlace. You can add stream urls to the application, so if you setup your computer to stream the music (for example as radio or another setup) you can add the url to myStreams and play it from your mobile phone with your favorite player (and myStreams has also quite a huge database). However, only a paid version is available.
Kind regards,

Streaming video from DLNA/uPNP or SMB

I have a Popcorn Hour which acts as DLNA/uPnP as well as a samba server. is there an app that allows video/audio/whatever to be streamed from such a source?
try "twonky" from the marketplace
This looks like it does the opposite, streams FROM the phone. I want to stream TO the phone.
If you put a ? at the end of your question, you would get a lot more answers and waste a lot less of other people's time.
ORB is what you are looking for..
got it, and it works
You have to have ORB running back at home. Kind of defeats the whole DLNA/PNP thing. If you already have a media streamer, why can't we hook up to that?
I think this is what your looking for. Being able to access your DLNA library from your phone.

[APP Request] DivX over WiFi/LAN

Looking for something similar to Rock Payer, or DemoPlayer (another DivX player).
Ive found two Apps that will play DivX, and I've found an app that allows me to explore my Desktop via WiFi from my phone (ES Explorer), and play (compatable) video, but DivX is not compatible.
What I'm looking for is a way to play my DivX movies i have on my desktop, over wifi, to my phone, directly. Without using something like ORB.
What would be ideal would be something like RockPlayer, with a LAN/WiFi explorer built in. Anyone know of such an app?
Both demoPlayer, and Rockplayer, play my DivX stored on my phone GREAT, screen stretch works flawlessly, it plays very good quality etc... But id like to be able to not have to keep the DivX's ON my phone. I have hundreds of movies etc on my computer, and would like to just browse to what i want to watch, and play.
And yes, just over local Lan/WiFi. I don't care about 3G etc... I'm strictly looking for an app that will do this over my local home network. If it in addition to that has 3G or cel streaming fine, but then i think we get into that "Orb" category.

THANK YOU!
That was exactly what i was looking for!
And flowing those directions (and simply copy/pasting the example code) worked flawlessly and simply (i already had samba share setup on the PC to stream to my Wii)... Was pretty simple...
THANK YOU.

MMS:// Streaming Video Player for Android?

Hello. Can anyone recommend a video player that will play mms:// video streams other than yxplayer? yxplayer just locks up on my stream. I am trying to hit a surveillance stream that I have going at my house. The only way I can currently pick up audio is off of my mms:// stream. I'm on wifi when I'm trying to view it, but yxplayer will not play it for anything.
Hi,
I am using xperia x10. But not able to play all video formats on it. Pls help me by providing which player to be downloaded??????
I use Vplayer Alpha for most videos that the default player won't play.
No one has any other option for mms:// video streams other than yxplayer?

Real Player for Android supposedly can do it, I am getting the info from a CSR now.

I see no option in real player to load a stream. Also myplayer...I can't find it in the android market place. It just says not found.

Well, after following this link (couldn't find it in the android market), searching and downloading myplayer's apk from another location, and side loading it.... it is not what I am looking for. It only streams from some BBC feeds and other live TV stations.
What I need is a program that will let me play live streamed mms:// asf video streams and actually let me select the url for the stream. yxplayer lets me start it, but then it just totally locks up If yxplayer actually worked I would buy that, but I am not having any luck getting it to work with my stream. It's a valid address and the stream works on Windows PCs. I've seen other requests out there too for something that does this, but I haven't found anything that actually works.
hi,
can you find any solution for your problem
I search everywhere I can, but not able to find a real solution
yx player is not stable i guess
Nope. I still have not found anything out there that works to stream mms:// streams. It is amazing to me that there is nothing out there that does this. I was hoping Vplayer beta would do it as they just put out an update with the ability to open a URL, but nope. I am still waiting and looking. If anybody figures out a way to do this let me know. None of the above suggestions work.
Hallo I have an IP camera that does not stream mjpeg but streams only .asf video. the camera is a Linksys WVC54GC.
I've tried about 10 players but the only one that let me stream the video from everywhere (means both from lan and from internet: i.e. 192.168.1.115/img/video.asf and my-ddns:115/img/video.asf[/url])
is VPlayer.
hope it helps...i've fighted a lot before find it...
the only one 'compromise' that I had to do is to make a free access to the camera (no username / no password) because the player is unable to manage usr/pwd access...I hope they will add this feature in next updates...
Hi,
Have you found something what can able play mms streaming ?
Hi, as I wrote before, the only one i've found Is Vplayer...
Have you tried it?

Question about MiraStick lag?

I'm not sure if this Is the right area, but I'll ask and see...
I just purchased this mirastick off of groupon and it is titled mirastick tv cast for android, iOS, and windows devices. (Can't post urls)
I'm trying to use it to stream movies off of sites like putlocker and also Xbmc. Also, I want to use it to stream sports using acestream.
I tried using Xbmc to stream movies and it's pretty scratchy and laggy when I use the mirror mode.
Any suggestions on how to resolve the lag?
Thanks
Bump...
