how can i listen to music on my touch pro through my car speakers?
i have a 98 honda, it cant play mp3 cds and doesnt have a headphone port ...
Your stereo would have to have an Audio Input of some kind, unless you can find an FM transmitter with a 3.5mm input.
I can use my FM transmitter to stream anything from my guitar amp to my Fuze through my car stereo....

you can buy an htc connector to 3.5 mm adapter on ebay for like 2 bucks (but it shipd from china so youll have to wait a couple of weeks to get it).. then go to cvs and buy a coby 3.5 mm to tape deck adapter for 9.99. (im sure if your car is that old it has a tape deck)
I use a Satechi BLUETOOTH to FM transmitter. It receives the music output from my phone via A2DP and re-transmitts it via FM to the car radio. It also answers calls and serves as a handsfree for the car. Bought it in Amazon.

Is there a car stereo (or an adapter) that will let me stream audio from my phone to my car stereo? I have bluetooth on my phone (with the stereo A2DP protocol) and have tons of music on it. I have a stereo bluetooth headset that I use all the time. I was just thinking it would be awesome if I could have the output play thru my car stereo instead of my headset.
Does anyone know of a car stereo that does this? Or does anyone know of an adapter you can put on a car stereo to make it do this?
On that note- what are the best car stereos out there that have built in bluetooth for talking on the phone?
Sony has at least 2 model for this but I think the sound quality is not that good. Finally brought a JVC BT-1 and it's very good in sound quality.
Another route is to have a A2DP adapter w/ 3.5mm. Sony DS-205 is one of the best I tried in sound quality. Unlike others, the A2DP still work while charging.

I have one of those sony xplode that have the built in bluetooth, it works great!
Alot of the new car head units you have to buy adaptors to enable bluetooth on them though. But like mentioned earlier there are some sonys that have it built in.

I was just wandering if there is anything I could buy out here that would let me play my music stored on my phone through my car's stereo. I have a 2002 Honda Accord without bluetooth. So If there a cord or something (similar to like an Ipod adaptor used in car steroes).
Just wandering cause right now my Car's CD player isn't working properly and not really wanting to buy a new Radio for my car.

If you gat an fm transmitter, get one with smart scan. Smart scan will find the best frequency and set it for you. It saves a lot of head ache and frustration

Link would be beautiful! I know what you talking about tho, because I had an original Ipod back in the early 2000's and the FM Transmiter was a headache with it.
Just use Y cable with audio out and plug into the aux in of the car stereo... that is what I do! I have a cradle (in my '97 Honda Civic 1.8VTi) and I set the phone with g-profile to automatically start/close Mortplayer when I plug it in/off... awesome!

Recently upgraded from a Touch Pro to a Desire and im looking at rigging it up in my car. I have a cradle and and a 3.5mm audio cable to connect to my car stereo.
What I also have lying around is an old external mic (i think from an old tomtom) which also has a 3.5mm jack.
Is there an adater that anyone has spotted that would allow me to connect both 3.5mm jacks - one for the mic input (ie handsfree input) and one for the audio out (music, satnav and hands free audio) ?
Ideally it would just be a cheap and cheerful splitter i guess ?
Thoughts anyone ?

Edit: nvm i checked on the net and it seems i have neither of those inputs. Just a simple CD player and fm radio.

so, do you not have a cigarette lighter input? you really should do lol. what car do you have?
you have a few options though.
if you don't have an aux input or anything like a headphone jack sort of input then you can get Belkin FM transmitter. I've just done a quick amazon search and one has come up specifically for desire, which could be good - one good review on amazon. However, I've never tried it.

If not, try the Belkin FM transmitters. There's a few different types, mainly for iPod/iPhone which are called iTrips. But obviously, don't get that if its for your Desire. Just search for Belkin FM Transmitter and make sure it has a headphone jack not an iPhone/iPod connection.
Word of warning, FM Transmitters work on the principle that you set the frequency on the 'gadget' then tune your FM Radio into that frequency on the car. Best way to do it, out of past use, is to have it right next to the radio and use the volume controls on the phone more than on the radio itself.
If you don't have a cigarette lighter, you can get one without it which will work, but not as well.

Bluetooth carkit with aux inputs is the way to go mate (3.5mm plug and iphone plug are pretty much standard these days), whilst you're at it get a suction screen mount too. Permanent handsfree!!
Buy anew stereo that's got Bluetooth streaming.

A stereo with aux-in slot should be more than enough tho (bt ones are a little more expensive), you can grab one with less than 80$.
cheap solution
my car player has AUX in therefore i just connect a 3.5mm Stereo Audio Cable Male-Male (1-Meter) cable and connect the player and my HTC Desire. Its so far good and clear.
I had a Peugeot 307 and it had an AUX in 3.5 socket, it was in the center of the car between the seats on the back of the console bit not on the stereo it's self.

FM wireless transmitter
Hi there
Depending in which country you are you could by a small FM transmitter that you plug into the Desire and listen through your car FM radio.
They are permitted in the UK, but not in many other countries. I got mine from TK Maxx... (hahaa!) for £9.99 and the sound in my car is almost as good as my cd player!
Go to Amazon, Ebay... theres plenty there!
My head unit unit syncs with my phone via bluetooth so I play music that way.
On previous phones/stereos I had an rca to 3.5mm cable that I ran from the phone to thee aux input on the back of the head unit.

I am thinking about picking up the Atrix 2 AT&T car charging dock but I would also like to have the phone be able to transmit music etc to my car stereo. My car stereo does not have bluetooth or an aux jack on it so I am thinking of also getting a Roadster or TC505 FM transmitter.
What I am worried about is how my bluetooth headset will function with this setup. If I'm driving in the car, listening to music coming from my phone, going through an FM transmitter to my car stereo, and I get a call, I want to be able to answer the call on my bluetooth headset and NOT on the FM transmitter device because I may need to exit the vehicle before the call is over.
Does anyone have any experience with a setup like this or something similar? Any thoughts?

I would honestly either A) have an aux jack installed or B) get a head unit that has aux/usb. For the amount you spend on an fm transmitter these days it is more than half the cost of either of those options. About 6 years ago the fcc said the fm trasnmitters were putting too many radio waves out so they tuned them down and ever since they are not as good of quality. Finding the old ones is hard and expensive but would work better. If you went the aux/usb route your bluetooth should know to pick up and use the headset and not speakers. This is what I have done for my last 2 cars
+1 you can find a cheap head unit with an aux jack for less than $100. You won't be happy with the sound quality from a transmitter.
