Cannot Sync, Bad Radio, Help? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Hi everyone, my name is John.. I just got my Tilt today from someone off craigslist. Anyway, the Tilt is locked to ATT and I'm a T-Mobile subscriber.. I've been at these forums for hours and I came across
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835
for n00b flashing. I wanted to unlock the device so I could use it with my T-mobile sim card. I followed every step, I flashed the hardSPL 3.29. Everything was fine.
I then went to step 4 to unlock the sim, followed every step, until I got to the update radio step. It said the radio was updated and I got R 1.70. OliNex (my original was 1.27.12.11) so when the phone rebooted, there was no sound and the screen was black. I saw that it said that if that happened that meant the radio was bad. The problem is... I can't sync to my computer with ActiSync because like a total n00b I had set up an unlock code for my device.
Each time it tries to sync I get the message
"Your device is currently locked. To connect or synchronize with this PC, please authenticate your device."
I tried soft-resetting, and hard resetting, but it still asks for authentication before syncing.
Update: So the hard reset did work, but it still has a bad radio... which is why the screen is black and there's no sound at boot up. How can I reset the radio to regular factory settings?
I have another question, since I was running WM 6... how do I upgrade to 6.1?
Can someone help?

Update
Ok guys, haha. Thanks. I finally figured it out and I unlocked it for my T-Mobile account! Yay!
Well, this could be an introduction thread

Help Annoying ROM

1st things first complete noob i apologize for any stupidity in the following post. Right i have faria wm6 ROM on my phone it is unlocked and i did all the steps to installing as to the instructions on this forum. Now heres wots happening my device will not load past the boot screen where it says windows mobile unless i take the battery out, now i thought it might be because of the new american dst so i ran the microsoft cab to patch it up. Well no luck there i sync my time it lags so much so i take the battery out it resets to feb 2006 and it's fine. Also active sync is a pain when you click sync the bar comes up at the bottom and thats it no roatating arrows the softkey does not change to stop. Also when i configure my exchange it says message format and i can change to plain txt or html well wen i first used it i could change it to html but now its stuck on plain txt but i dont know whether thats a setting my exchange provider has to change on there sever - i dunno. But it all seems to revolve around active sync and the devices time. Please help or point me in the right direction because i would hate to go back to t-mobiles rom which is boring!
Any help much appreciated
P.S sorry if this has been posted many a time maybe looked in wrong place but plz post link.

This post makes no sense to me. First you say you can't boot past the 3rd splash screen (Windows MObile 6). Then you start talking about doing cab files and other stuff (which indicates you are past this screen and working on your device).
Please take a breath and give us more information and full details of exactly where you are at. You also have to tell us your current IPL, SPL, and OS versions that show when you boot the phone (we need exact numbers to be able to help). Is your phone a G3 or G4? What is the last / current ROM you have on your phone? Are you now able to get into your phone (ie: did you flash back)? Is your phone CID Unlocked?
Sorry for my confusing post. I am able to get past the boot screen if i take my battery out and put it back in but turning on normally It wont get past if you get what i mean. further explained below...
Heres my numbers: ipl is 2.21, spl 2.21 os 2.18 gsm 02.19.11 , it is CID unlocked, it was flashed to farias rom from t-mobiles latest rom. Ive flashed farias rom twice now going back to t-mobiles first in both instances.
The main problem i seem to get is with the devices time - i'll try to explain this as well as i can - if the devices time is set to now then it is really slow and active sync does not work and the today screen will only show the time and nothing else like messaging, live, tasks, calender etc. and if you reset the device it does not get past the boot screen. Taking the battery out therefore reseting the devices time it works great but changing the time back to now and it lags again. Hope you understand this
P.S. I have installed microsofts dst patch

I honestly don't know if this will help, but you might try flashing the latest TMobile US ROM to get you to 2.26 instead of 2.21
http://www.t-mobileapps.com/downloadcenter/Software_List.cfm?selDevice=24
Then flash Faria's over that. Note that the 2.26 ROM will put the 2.25 Radio on your phone. You may want to then get the 2.19 UK radio from the ftp site here and go back to that one (I find the 2.19 works better than the higher versions on WM6 for me).
Also (and maybe before doing what I just suggested) try either turning off BatteryStatus, or upgrading it to 1.04.201 Beta 3. There have been fixes and I had a lockup problem (I couldn't reboot my phone if the USB cord was plugged in and BatteryStatus 1.04.200 Beta 2 was running). I'll attach the cab to this post.

Are you overclocking or anything? Have you installed other apps, or does it work this way right after installing Faria's WM6 rom?
Faria's WM6 ROM is very good and I've never seen stuff like this reported so it seems its something with your setup. You could try flashing the fixed mUn's ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1172977&postcount=361 ) and see if it behaves the same way. If it does then you have an issue with your phone it would seem. If it doesn't then its an interaction with software on the device.
P.S. I have installed microsofts dst patch

You don't have to install this on WM6.

Vodafone Branded Upgrade - Crraaasshhhh!

Hi Everyone.
Having exhausted the official avenue of enquiry with Palm, I'm turning to you to help me upgrade my Treo 750V, locked to a Vodafone SIM, to Windows 6.0mobile because a) I'd like the speed, b) I'd like my ringer to work, c) I want the latest.
I got my updater off the Palm site, did I as was told to the letter. Upgrade stalled having copied files / just sat there at the "executing upgrade screen" then announced upgrade failed and advised soft reset and try again. I tried again. And again. And again. I have better things to do.
Contacted Palm support. I swear they didn't read the mail - only answered it. I worked with them though and, eventually, everything went quite for a few days. Today, I had a mail advising me to download another updater (they provided a new serial number. Got it. They also told me to run the recovery tool but, are you listening Palm, MY PHONE DOES NOT STALL! IT JUST DOESN'T GET TO THE END OF THE UPGRADE. YOUR WEBSITE TELLS ME ONLY TO RUN THE RECOVERY TOOL IF THE PHONE STALLS AFTER UPGRADE!!!!
I ran the new updater. Same issue. It copies files, sits there for twenty seconds doing nothing, then fails. Phone gets to the colour band screen but that's it. Game over after that.
I tried your flashing soloution off a FAT32 SD card - that doesn't work for me either. I'm not a dummy, honest - WTF I'm I doing wrong?
Vista Vaio with mobile device manager on the PC which connects and syncs fine. No hack or crap on the 'phone.
Help me please before I sledge my Treo to fragments and get a couple of cans and a bit of wet string!
Upgrade accomplished.
Sorry to be replying to my own post - I've sorted this issue out now. Please see my later post - CHEEIMG issue - Sorted

First post... and I think I already bricked it

I was following the nice little wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard Windows Mobile 6 for newbies) and got down to installing the button ROM to downgrade the IPL to 1.05. Started off fine, but it's stopped at 57%. For over an hour already. I wasn't running anything, but did have Firefox open the whole time (was reading ahead in the instructions).
I guess the question is, am I screwed, or will I be able to end task on this update and restart it? I haven't turned them off yet, but I'm guessing that if I do my phone will be a fancy paperweight.
I did notice that ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NOID.exe has maxed out one of my cores (13% utilization, 8-core computer--I.E one core is pegged at 100%), so I'd say it's crashed or in a loop.
I'm going to leave it running--overnight perhaps--and see what happens. Any other suggestions?
er.. if this is the wrong forum, I apologize. I forgot which forum I was reading before I hit 'new topic'.
First, don't use Vista to update if you can.
If the flashing stops, just reboot or use another computer to try again, your Wizard should enter bootloader automatically when you reset it. That should not brick the device (Unless you are installing Button's ROM to a G4 device).
If Wizard stuck at IPL boot screen (not bootloader), press camera+reset can let it enter bootloader directly.
Ok, I am on XP.
Well, I went ahead and killed the locked process and yanked the battery from the phone and was pleasantly surprised it came back up straight into the bootloader mode. These little phones are more resilient than I thought.
I also discovered my problem was that the ROM updater will freeze if activesync is running and connected to the phone. Knowing that, I was able to work around it and got everything on the phone updated, and am now running WM6 on it.
Thanks.
Now I can start using Visual studio.
Love Wizard
One thing that makes me love the wizard is it does rarely brick...
You must be joking...rarely does brick? Shoot, look at the Wizard wrong and BAM! Brick you shall have!

Omg i f***ed up!!! Ryan mogul i know you can help pretty please with a cherry on top!

Ok i was forum jumping and i tried a titan rom... I hate it !!!!!!!!! It changed my windows 6.1 to something i have no clue what it is now and i just want everything back to normal. I reinstalled my raphael cdma hard spl and my windows is still on the ugly a** blue and orange screen and i dont know what to do. My email is [email protected] if you can help me you may have to call me or email me direcxtly ill be here all weeek night and day trying to fix this!!!!!
If you flashed another device(htc titan) rom onto your cdma htc raphael, most likely you brick't it, can you see a tri colour screen? if you can it means your device its sitting on bootloader mode since the rom image it has flash is not compatible with it, just grap a OEM cdma rom and flash it, everything should be fine, that is if that screen your phone is stuck in is the bootloader screen, which i bet it is.
Good advice above, follow it. And ffs, read your device wiki before flashing next time, what were you thinking flashing another devices rom to ur Rap?
As said above, if you cant get into bootloader, ur fu##ed, so i hope you can.
Good luck.
Ok so i didnt brick my phone i got everything back to stock now from here any suggestions on getting my wap to work and also my incoming pix? I have tried all methods i have found online and i actually had the wap working at 1 point but i messed that up as you can tell.
Now that doesnt make sense.
I also tried an upgrade to my Mogul from ryans stuff. Started going through boot loader and all of a sudden the screen went to red green blue and white. Very patriotic. but lost windows mobile center. So I wasn't sync'd anymore. so I could proceed in the install until. Sync'd. I can syn' I assume because the phone in a bootloader mode. Tried a hard shut down and everything else. Just trying to get back my 6.1 now. can't until I can sync. Can't sync until I have an OS to sync to. Im a little lost.

Ozone SPL-0.44

So I recently went to vzw to check if my warranty would cover unresponsive buttons and it does, so they sent me a replacement ozone in the mail. I checked the multicolored screen and saw spl 0.44 and remembered that it couldnt be flashed to hardspl. So I said to myself, "ok, stock windows mobile 6.5 on the ozone can't be so bad" and booted it up. OMG I got used to the 3vo rom sooo much that the phone is crippled with the stock rom. So I want to send the replacement they sent me right back to them and just say f-ck it!! I would rather live with the phone the way it is now.
My question is.... Can I flash a Hardspl to it? has anyone tried and if so did it work. Is there going to be a Hardspl 0.44? Should I try to flash the replacement and if it bricks or fails just send it back? I'm going to send it back anyway if I know I can't install custom roms to it.
Yes, it can be done - apps unlock it first, then flash from 0.44 to .39.hard
Yes, it can be done and I've done it with mine. Read & print out the detailed steps, instructions & review the notes of errors/steps for recovering, etc. - backup your own data/contacts/settings, etc. on the phone - remove the sim card & microSD memory card. I used oem LG usb cable on Windows XPP SP3 desktop & do it without interruption (got a PM story of a ruined flash due to a dog jumping on the link & killed the process, for real ....)
Mine was originally running WM6.1 from VZW, did the HTC official upgrade via the link to WM6.5 and then decided to take a chance with the 3VO flash.
It's very important to do it carefully and get it apps unlocked first.
When that's done successfully & tricolor bootloader confirmed it, pull the battery out for a few moments to reset, and then re-insert & boot it up again before resuming the flash with the unzipped 3VO rom file.
When the HTC ROM Update Utility is finally connected & the phone screen is blank (black) and your pc has finished switching from Moto drivers (ActiveSync) to HTC drivers (re-establish active connections) - and you can see both your "current" version and 3VO version, you are ready to take the plunge & finalize the burn process - took less than 10 minutes at that point.
Then, it's a matter of watching the phone reboot, initialize & preparing the phone for 1st time use and waiting another 5 to 10 minutes, and wow, the 3VO startup & WM6.5 screen will greet you. Then, it's just of customizing the options, restoring the contacts/settings upon putting the sim card (used my owned sim, phone already unlocked) and memory card in the slots.
Good luck.
I tried everything. All directions as closely as possible. I had no errors happen to me on anything and everything flashed as it should have and still no hardspl 0.39. No big deal, I'll just send it back. This phone must be very very locked. Oh well. Thanks for the help.
Where do we find the drivers...after disconnecting. my device comes up as unknown
