How to show media file name in Windows Media Player Mobile 10? - General Questions and Answers

Hello everyone, does anyone know how to show media file name in Windows Media Player Mobile 10, while not file title?
When I import some mp3 file, it shows the file name in the list at first. When I play some files, all the file name turned to Title name.
I wanna keep the file name in the list. But how?
Thanks!

How to create Media Player PLAYLISTS?

Hi all,
I'm trying to create or to copy my playlist from the computer to my Magician, but I couldn't! I don't know how to do it.
If I copy the .WPL from my PC to Magician, it doesn't open. When I'm using the Pocket Microsoft Media Player 10, my library have a lists of Playlists, but it's always empty and I don't know how to create one.
Can anyone help me please?
The playlists hold a definitive list of where a file is stored. If you have the stuff in "my music" then the files will be in c:\Documents And Settins\ (Username)\My Documents\My Music, and as such all files in the playlist will be listed in this location, and as this location does not exist in the device, it cannot find the files. You also need to copy the actual music files across, not just the wma files (Music files are mp3, wma, etc.)
If you want to use the device as an MP3 player, you should really get a storage card to store the music on.

I think you got me wrong. I already have a Storage Card and about 100 WMA files. The Library on MP is OK, but I have no Customized Playlists. That's what I want.
Got it?
Thanks!
Ok as to making playlists in Pocket Windows Media Player, i have no idea. i just had a look at my universal and i cant see the option.
Hoiwever, in the program that i use instead of WMP (Pocket music from pocketmind.com), you can make, view and edit playlist easily, plus it has a nice today screen plugin.
so one can not make new playlists in windows media player
The Pocket PC version of Windows Media Player does not allow you to create or edit playlists. But there is a freeware program for it!

"My TV" in Media Player

How do you get files to show up in the "My TV" area in media player? I've tried renaming video files with all kinds of extensions but nothing works.
Answer
Your need windows media center edition then you can transfer your recorded tv. You might be able to convert mpg or avi to either dvr-ms or wtv then use Windows media player to sync it with your phone.
Thanks sandrobber. So are you saying that I can't just change the extension to say "wtv or dvr-ms" and have media player update the library and have it be in there? I would have to use Media center to transfer the files over? Lets say I did that and the file is transferred to the phone and everything is okay. Lets say the file is named "conan.wtv". If I reset my phone or wanted to move that file to another phone can't I just copy that file to the new phone and have media player do a library update and it be in there?

unwanted files in hd2 audio manager

hi, someone knows how to disable folder from adding o audio manager?
like .nomedia on android, or something else.
because i have all ringtones, and phone records on the list.
Good question.
Found this:
"Do not use the "Update Library" function in Windows Media Player on your Windows Mobile Device. This will add all sorts of audio files and sound effects to your media library from both your main device and storage card."
and this:
"Mobile Windows Media Player, when launched, defaults to showing the "My Device" library. You probably want it to open the "Storage Card" library by default. You can remove the "My Device" library listing option completely by deleting the following file: "Mobile Device\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\XMEMediaLibrary.mlb." This way, only the files in your Storage Card library will show up in Windows Media Player Mobile."

check here,
the registry trick does not work for everybody - maybe depends on the ROM version(?)
Simply hide the folders / files you don't want using Resco File Explorer or similar.
I was able to attch my HD2 to my pc and use windows file system properties to make the file folders hidden on my sd card that i do not want audio pulled from.

[Feature Request] SMB Share / Network Folders

Hello,
I have a few questions, I hope some one can answer them.
I would like to know if it is possible to set a video folder that is on a network or a web site. I have all my DVDs copied onto my server and would like to access them from my devices.
When I try to add a folder, via settings, it will not show me a network. If I go to Network stream I have to type in the complete url to the file its self for it to play.
Example: 13.125.44.133:4040/movies/61/video_ts/vts_01_1.vob
I would like to be able to see the directory with the list of folders that the movies are in and then select the folder and have the app play the movie.
Example:
Movies/
61
2012
After Earth
....
Maybe the only way to access to this folders its using a file explorer with the capabilities of accessing to network folders.
I was able to locate the file, like you suggested. I am using ES File Explore, it allowed me to save the path and also associate the vob files with MX Player. So now I have one more question. When I ripped my DVD's, they are just like on the DVD. There is 4 or 5 vob files numbered 1, 2, 3... When I select the first vob file and it plays to the end it goes back to the ES File Explore app and does not continue on to the second vob file. Is there a switch so that it will do this or will it just not do this?
MX Player currently has no built-in SMB share support. External apps like ES File Explorer only pass 1 file URI at a time to MX.
This has been previously requested before. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mx-videoplayer/nYpihpAVJq0/discussion
It's already on the feature requests list. http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/sticky-running-list-feature-requests-t2718297
i see that there is a "back to list" i uncheck this and it went to the next file, seam to work.
Interesting, I didn't think that they would have changed so quickly to passing all the URIs in the folder. Well, good to see that you found a solution.

An amendment to what I said above; MX still doesn't receive all the URIs, but rather does predictive requests based on filename, as a quickfix to this issue.
I use ES file explorer to do this, you can 'save' the location as a shortcut to the desktop of your device (long press on the folder, select save to desktop)
There are currently a few bugs with this in the latest version which i have my own thread about, subtitles dont load and some videos require software playback to prevent audio going out of sync but it works and works well in general.
Anyone using this feature could tell me how it works when there are 2 files - video and subtitles?

If the directory listing is enabled on the host, MX Player can get the list of files. So, it will automatically load the subtitle as we. Else, MX Player will try to get the subtitle by assumption (by just replacing video extension with subtitle extensions). But, it doesn't work everywhere.
So, it's better to enable directory listing if you are using a local server.
