Diamond Capacitive launcher? - General Questions and Answers

Hi all, I'm searching for a program I had on my Diamond when I was running windows mobile 6.1. It allows you to swipe your finger, from up to down or vice versa, on either side of the touchpad to launch an assigned program.
I have no idea what it's called and can not for some reason find any information about it at all. If someone out there knows what it is called (or better yet a link to it), I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you for your time and please don't tell me that I have been using this program in my imagination for the last six or so months. ;-)

I knew I wasn't crazy (completely)
Amazingly no one relpied with in almost 24hrs. I guess no one likes me here . On the plus side I found the application . It's name is Butler and can be found here
Code:

Thanks anyway people. I hope at least one person finds this useful.

iphone finger menu scrolling

Basically I wasn't overly impressed when I saw the iphone in terms of what it did, because it doesn't do anything my WM5 doesn't. the only thing I was impressed at was the interface, the total touch screen etc(altho it is missing a qwerty key board which I couldn't live with out). One part of the touch screen interface that I was the most impressed with was the finger dragging, scrolling! But this can be done on WM5 devices because I've already downloaded Sygic's .mobile which allows you to do it through your contacts.
So Basically I'm sure that one of the many clever programmers on here could write a little program that allows you to use finger scrolling where ever a scroll bar is needed? I.e. file emplorer, music menu(windows media player), text message list, photos, etc.
Or if someone knows where I could get such a program from?
Thanks
this would be sweet because we windows fans wouldn't have to convert to the darkside.
just like the early dayds of apple.....microsoft swoops in and reinvents the game. but only thing it aint microsoft doing this.
why buy a new phone when u can take the guts of it and dump it into your own
good job on the programers you guys rock.
Check this video out, the guy has done just that!
http://techdigest.tv/2007/02/watch_the_iphon.html
I've seen that video already, but thanks. it was that and the program .mobile that made me hope that someone on here would be able to do it for the rest of the windows mobile platform! if I was talented enough I'd do it myself but this is way beyond me. i just think it would be a great to be able to navigate menus and list and make life a lot easier.
Can we download it from somewhere?
Download What?
that GUI seen on that video.
the best program to make it look like that is wisbar desktop but it costs! has for the menu scrolling i haven't got a clue thats why i was hoping someone may be able to write a program on here for it

Agree, i used the wisbar advance, but the scrolling gui was amazing!
I am wondering how he did it?
it was, but i don't know how he did it! i know you can down load a program called .mobile and that allows you to scroll through your contact like that, so it clearly can be done! so someone must be able to do it for the rest of the phone?!??!
What is it that can or can't be done guys?
Picsel Browser uses momentum based full screen drag scrolling, amongst other apps. It's not a difficult thing to do. The implementation in the video is particularly nice (if not particularly useful IMHO), but it's not some kind of mystical voodoo. It's just programming.
V
vijay,
I don't think you would be capable of doing this, no way....
(ps: please, please rise to the challenge!)
On a serious note the Universal lacks a scroll wheel which I have always had on my previous PDAs. To be able to have a generic touchscreen based scrolling mechanism would be very useful (ie not just for tracks and contacts, but for everything).
Can anyone post a link to the download of this?
slider lock feature.....
Guys,
According to his website, before it was suspended...
He says he was using
PPL1.20. PPL which can be downloaded for free from http://arianesoft.ca
I downoaded this but have no idea on how to use it to get the same results?
Anyone interested in getting the slider lock portion of that video working?

As explained by Vijay this is just programming. If you dont have programming skills, just forget it. If you do then the technical part is not that difficult. The whole point is more about doinga nice design
Anyway let's hope he will make is work public (The scrolling bar is one thing, but the whole setup is actually nice...)
If anyone has this (doubt the guy gave it out before he got shut down) but in case he did... i would like to get my hands on this...
the point of me starting this thread was to see if anyone on here knew where I could get a program that would allow me to scroll all the menus and lists in my WM5 by dragging my finger across the screen, if there wasn't already a program out there then I wondered if someone could write a program for it? as my skills in this area are nowhere near good enough! I think a program like this with look great but more importantly be really useful, as I use my finger to navigate through most of my phone.
if this is just programing, please can someone with the skills do it????
Thanks
the m600-iphone clon demovideo is no longer available at youtube....
the apple tentacles are very lengths...
INTERESTINGLY.. this guy is a Malaysian (Chinese). . and I would have thought such geeky move ought to be from the States.
well i have a spare wizard to try this on if some one can direct me on what software to use. i have some spare time lol

I'm searching for a voice-notetaking program ??

Hello together
I try to explain what I'm looking for:
During the day there is often the need to make a short voicenotice of an idea or an task. For that there a several progs on the market.
But I want to use the left and right softkey for two diff. additional things:
one Softkey in a way to bring up the voicenotice in 5 or 15 or whatever minutes or in an hourback as a reminder with alarm.
the second softkey to bring the voicenotice as a task or date in my calander for the next day or next week. Selection on the softkeys by dropdowns.
I think these efforts are useful in the daily work of my Treo and perhaps also for some other people here in the forum.
Who knows a proggy or better a person to create such a proggy.
Thx in advance.
I think BugMe might do something similar to this.

V
Thx for response
Yes, it's a little bit on the way, but the calenderinput isn't effective.
Is there nobody than me how's really interrested in such a proggy. I'm the only one, who needs this fuction ??
I'm still hoping ;-)

In got my VOX today and I have some questions about it..

Well, I bought my vox today.
And it is really cool.
There are a couple of Questions I couldnt fix with the Help File.
For example, at the Home Screen on the Bottum you see: Start and Contacts.
Is there a way to change Contacts to Message or Send Text Message or something like that?
Also, I installed:
http://www.trianglepowers.com/PPC/ViewApp.aspx?ID=56
The install was alright but it doesnt work.
I don't see the Memory Bars on my screen? Do I have to enable that somewhere?
Also I've got a couple of questions about Specific software that I seem not to be able to find.
I think I should post this in a Separate Topic but I dont want to spam the Entire forums full, so i'll ask here
Has anyone made Scapy work on there Smartphone? Using PythonCE?
Also has anyone tried Super Puzzle Turbo Fighter ][ Java on there VOX System?
Since its not meant for it. But I think It should work. Though if it doesn't and I bought it. Well thats just a waste of money..
Is there anyone who used MiniStumbler on a SmartPhone? Since I can only find it for Windows Pocket PC?
And my last Software Question is:
MARS - [Memory Array Redcode Simulator, a machine that simulates a Corewar battle]
is a Programming game?
Is there a port for it in SmartPhone? Since else I should make it myself ^^
Well, I asked a LOT of questions. I hope nobody thinks I am a Leecher
Thanks already!
Cheers,
Robin
I'll answer the questions I know answers to and tell you that if you search you will find an answer, so here goes;
1). Yes. Search XDA for "Soft key changer"
2). That application is for PocketPC, it will not work properly on your Vox which is Smartphone/Standard.
3). Scapy does not work, as far as I am concerned PythonCE for Smartphones is a kludge.
4). There is a Java VM called Esmertec jBed. It should be able to run Super Puzzle Turbo Fighter just fine provided the resolution is within the Vox limits.
5). MiniStumbler does not work on the Vox, however WiFiFoFum does, it is completely free and has the same features.
6). MARS, there is no Windows Mobile or even CE port/release of this.
1). Yes. Search XDA for "Soft key changer"
Thank you!, I didnt know what to look for but now I do ^^
2). That application is for PocketPC, it will not work properly on your Vox which is Smartphone/Standard.
Ah, ok thats why I didnt work. But ofc tht is quite logical. I thought that didnt make a Difference if it was the Home Today Screen..
3). Scapy does not work, as far as I am concerned PythonCE for Smartphones is a kludge.
Ok, well thanks.
I am going to write something like this myself then. If it's done I'll post it here.
4). There is a Java VM called Esmertec jBed. It should be able to run Super Puzzle Turbo Fighter just fine provided the resolution is within the Vox limits.
Ok, thats GREAT! I am going to get myself a Copy right away!
5). MiniStumbler does not work on the Vox, however WiFiFoFum does, it is completely free and has the same features.
That other program is fine aswell. Just wanted to find WifiNetworks. ^^
6). MARS, there is no Windows Mobile or even CE port/release of this.
I found a fix. PocketDOS!! ^^ I just run it on Dos.
Thanks for all this, your a great help =)
Cheers,
Robin
You can also use Smarttweak v.1.07. It can modify alot in your vox and removes the message sent notification after sending an sms. There is a crack version here in one of the topics here. just look for it. ciao!

Got a HTC Touch Pro today

...and I'm finding it laggy and contemplating taking it back and getting an N95 8GB.
Anyone have advice on how I can speed up the device? Its driving me bat**** nuts.
Also what imbecile decided to have an unimportant keyboard pop up center bottom but have something important like close/okay in the top right.
Also the scroll bar being on the right hand side? Terrible, I keep missing the bar and hitting the vodaphone logo.

I know that you are new here so I won't flame you too much.
You really need to read these forum rules
You should not have created a new thread for this as there are already threads talking about these things
You posted this in the Touch Elf Forum rather then the Touch Pro forum.
This will have to be moved to the correct forum.
Hm I did search the main page for a touch pro forum but didn't see one.
I don't see any reason to flame me, I'm just being honest, I'm alittle pissed off myself that I've put my name to a contract for a phone that isn't as pleasing as I was hoping.

The above link takes you to the Rapheal forum AKA Touch Pro
Edit - Don't create a new thread in the Rapheal forum either : Mods have been notified and they will move this one (Or delete it) whatever it is they decide to do. You will see once they do whatever they do
You might not be that pleased with your device the way you got it (Stock); however, there is lots to learn in these forums (read the Rapheal forums) and Development and Hacking forums for cool apps and tweaks for your phone that should make you happier.
A Touch Pro should definitely be fast right out the box. I don't know how much experience you have with Windows Mobile but you should probably check your ROM version under START-SETTINGS-SYSTEM-DEVICE INFORMATION. If it's a really old one you should update it.
ROMeOS is a custom ROM which I found faster than the stock one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426099
And DCS is another light and fast ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421609
You can also use some other Registry edits to speed up your system: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413562&highlight=tweaks
A more drastic measure would be to disable TF3D...
However, I wouldn't even conside changing my Touch Pro with a Nokia N95...
Indeed, I'm finding alot of useful apps.
One thing though, I know I should search, but can you tell me how to find out what rom I have?
Edit beat me to it lol
I forgot to mention something about the scrolling bars, you don't really need it. Your phone reacts in gestures (like an iPhone) just use your finger to move a list up or down...
other than that, I can't say that you are an average Windows Mobile user.
If you continue having problems... maybe you should consider a Nokia 3310. I hear Nokia N95 has also a lot of problems... It also has the scroll bar on the right hand side, but you can't even use it...
lol I have an N95, if I trade this in I'll be trading it in for the 8GB version.
One thing I found tricky with the HTC is figuring out the status of the GPS. It came with Telnet Navigator...well a link to the web page saying it wasnt supported, downloaded the Vodaphone version on the links list, and when I try "where am i" it says it cannot locate me.
How exactly would I diagnose that my GPS signal is non-existant. I do live in the middle of nowhere.
The things you complained about are not HTC's fault. That's the operating system Windows Mobile. All other Windows Mobile devices work the same way with the little OK key in the top right and a keyboard popping out in the bottom, scroll bar in the right, etc. Changing the rom may speed it up, but it's still Windows Mobile.

I didn't really understant the question or the problem, but I am guessing you are looking for a simple GPS program to check your position and signal.

TouchPad in Raphael as Mouse-Control?

Hi everyone.
I have my new Touch Pro and i saw it have a "full" TouchPad under the Screen.
My question is, might it be possible to display a Mouse-courser and control it with this TouchPad?
I dont know if this is usefull.
Badly i never coded for Windows Mobile, so is someone thinking this would be a nice application and want to code something like this?
Maybe if i get this damn Microsoft Visual Express Edition running, i will try something myself.
//Edit: just like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpKQOP9LJRU
It's a good idea, the touchpad is even multi-touch capable...
hate it on i900...
could be more interesting on touch pro/diamond, since the surface is larger
Hi everyone Im using remote touch for this. take a look at that freeware on this site here. as it is a beta there is no further guide on how to use this tool. anyway figure it out for yourself. it works for me, not always but it does most of the time.
have fun
hm.
maybe you did not understand me or i dont know if remote touch can control a mouse on your PocketPC and not on your Desktop PC.
best look at the movie in my first post to get a impression how i was thinking for a use of this touchPad.
Yes, like Samsung-i900 (Omnia). It's possible?
i think it is possible (but i am really new in WinCE developing).
I have finaly succesfully installed an IDE on my Work-PC.
And i think i also found somethink to move the "mouse".
Now i only need to install the IDE on my Home PC, loading DLLs into the program and i need to look into the SDK for the TouchPad. (Badly i have read that it has only one event that reads the rotations? this would be bad.)
Of course it would be faster if someone that is a lot more experienced in WinCE developing would try it.
Hello, I was the first one to come up with this idea. Check it out here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431522
Is it possible to make the area around the Dpad as touch buttons (touching the up button = pressing the up button, etc)? Since the Dpad is hard to press, it makes some games kinda unplayable...
