Does anyone know if the camera app from the TP2 will work on the Fuze? Since I've read the two devices share the same camera, I was hoping the Fuze might be capable of recording video at VGA resolution. Has anyone tested it?
I don't know if it would be compatible without some tweaking to it, since it has onscreen controls, especially since the TP2 is missing the hardware buttons. I'd like to see someone port it though, the ability to touch where you want to focus is really nice.
i briefly looked for a touch pro 2 camera app and couldn't find one extracted.
I wonder if the one from the HD doesn't work.
I thought I had the cab somewhere.

Ok i've been reading how a few of you guys have both devices and have been doing some comparisons. I want to purchase one of these two devices, as i feel that Tv-out is pretty cool feature i definetely want my next ppc to have. I've seen posts showing the omnia has better video playback with less choppiness then the touch pro aka fuze.. But how do these phones perform when both hooked up to a big screen? How do the quality/clarity compare? Do either have any lag while using the TV-out function? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance..

let me just add that i currently own an ATT tilt. I have skyfire installed and i watch hulu videos all the time and the quality is pretty good. I was hoping to be able to install the new VGA version of skyfire on the touch pro and watch it on the big screen. Hence my original question.. Same goes for my mobile slingplayer... anybody use their devices for this?
I was wondering,
do you think it is possible to add a front camera to the fuze?
Not worth it if you ask me, i'm sure it could be done with a lot of headaches
But really, the AT&T keyboard just ticks me off (What happened to the tab key and the control key????)
Just buy a Touch pro and sell the fuze, thats what i'm planning to do
Camera
The european version had a front and back camera.
I'm not sure why you would do that. Video calling isn't supported by any of the carriers (unless I'm mistaken). But if you want one to use as a webcam, then I see where it's going.

This. I have an EDGE touch pro because I bought the euro one.. not too bad for me since I dont do much that absolutely requires a 3g connection but it'd be nice to have...
trust me, stick with the FUZE
Video calling is supported via internet though and a front camera would have been a great addition.
att supports video calls, and you can use the regular camera as a webcam so theres no need for the front facing camera.

I have the European Touch Pro with the front camera, and can't find any software that allows me to use it (except the "Camera" program that came with it).
Also, I can't do 3G, and I think that's something you'd use more often.
Im currently using an Elfin, which ive used for quite a while and have no plans of giving up just yet.
But...
I have been thinking about the future of mobiles from HTC.
Several of their most recent ones have no directional pad
(the 4 way thing with a button in the middle)
I was wondering (as the title says) if you feel you loose some functionality because you dont have a dpad.
I know they have bigger screens, and UI improvements, but the ability to navigate with a nice and simple up/down/left/right/enter seems too good to loose. Its one of those basics that i fall back to.
One major issue i would have is I like a few games and apps which require the use of a D Pad. On PPCs without D Pads, is there a way around this?
Ive just been wondering about this for a while.
Anyone else had similar thoughts?
Do you have a phone without a DPad?
If yes, please write something. Im intrigued.
Cris
Yeah I have a touch HD which doesnt have a Dpad, but the functionality is absolutely awesome with the virtual keys, no issues at all. and for games there is a dedicated gamepad developed already. look around for that in here...
I have an HD: only for games you could feel the missing of DPad, for all other programs I use fingers or Keyboard virtual DPad.
I think the big display makes the difference.

Hi, I note (and it is being projected as such too) that Touch Flo responsiveness is better on D2 or TP2 compared to HD. The HD is sluggish to respond to the finger while scrolling between the apps. This isn't that 5 sec lag/freeze issue which was corrected with the newer official ROM. But general sluggishness or jerky behavior when you scroll apps. I wanted to ask, is that a hardware or design thing that they took care of on the 2's or can the HD also resolve the issue by some custom ROM upgradation?
Would highly appreciate your help/info..
you can resolve the issue on HD with a custom rom upgrade!!
Thanks so much Kristaps for the quick reply. I'm new here, so don't know how to get to a suitable ROM fast. I'm buying the HD, as the responsiveness issue was the only thing holding me back from it.
Could you plz point me to a stable ROM thats nearest that of TP2, with the newer version of TF3d and opera and push int.net and the whole people-centric contacts module thing? Also, does the landscape orientation work exactly the same way for all apps as it does for the 2's? I understand it was limited to certain apps only on the official HD ROM. I also heard there was a simulation of the zoom bar over the flush hardware buttons of the HD, any info on that? If all of this is given, then i'd go for the HD any day..
I realize thats a plethora of questions, thanks for help on these. I can't seem to get to this info on this forum on my own
try Dutty or Laurentius.
You'll not be disappointed.
Hello, do you know a soft whitch can be used to talk via the front cam of the HD2 like the ibouze 4?
there is no front cam on the hd2
HD2 doesn't have a front camera.
I'm not sure...
But I think he means the only camera it has..
I don't believe there are any video chat apps for the HD2, sorry..
There is no way of doing it, because people never used it!
Why does everyone want it since crapple got it!?
Lemme tell You my experience with videotalk on my HTC Touch HD (which I staill have) and my LG GD900-Wristwatch-Handy (which I wear every day):
Tried it once to see if it works, NEVER USED IT AGAIN !!!!!!!!! ´cause only few people You call will even know that maybe they have a feature like this on their own cellphones. Doesn´t work when I call friends in other countries since provider don´t support it or have dirfferent protocols etc. etc.
Nobody needs it.
To proof that also YOU don´t need it: get a one month VZOChat account and see that also You won´t use it .............
