Check the thread in Q&A (which is where this thread belongs) right now that is titled SD CARD. I think it'll give you information to get you up and running quickly.
Once you get your SD card partitioned properly, you can mount it in Recovery and transfer your ROM file over and flash it.

i am trying to flash thyrough my memory card....i have a 1gb sandisk sd card.....i hear something about partition but have no idea what to do please help
PC Partitioning.
The first to do is understand what it is. Then we can actually do it. Other than that, this is NOT a development post. It needs to be moved to the proper sub forum.
Your SD card needs to be FAT32. (Right click on the card while using a card reason and choose partition (if you're in windows.)
Please forgive me if this has been covered before, I am a noob. can apps be moved to the sd card using cyanogen, and if so, how?
I'm assuming you got a bigger sd card and want to take them off the new one there is a thread on this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572737&highlight=apps+sd+card, and if your talking about apps2sd is done automatically just need to partition your sd card. Hope this helps. If you need more help just ask.
Is the sd partitioned in the recovery console?
Ok yes this is very noob. I am trying to flash for the first time with my GS3.
Droidstyles guide says to copy ROM (in my case cleanrom) to "internal storage" all over the place. When I look at the phone connected to my computer, i get an option for "Phone" and "Card".
I would assume that phone was internal and card is external SD card.
But in all the times I flashed on my Samsung Moment it was always a Zip from the external SD card.
I have searched and not coming up with it, sorry for the noob question. Just want to get it right...

Phone is internal and card is external. That being said you can flash from external as long as it is formatted to Fat32. The recoveries do not support extFat on external card and do not see it. Once Fat32 can flash as you always have.
Thanks! One more successful root for a Noob! Running cleanrom:victory:
Prdog is correct and thats the reason why i say to use internal sd in my guide...not everybody has a external sd and/or has it formatted to fat32.
Hello,
I have installed TWRP 2.3.3 on my LG G2x (rooted Android 2.3.4 OS) per the instructions on the teamwin website http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2/63. I can backup to the internal SD but the external SD backups disappear upon reboot after backup. I can see the external SD backups after backup but before reboot via file manager (although the dates are wrong....they say 2007). But, when I reboot, all that was written to the external SD is lost. If I copy the internal SD backup over to the external SD, then TWRP sees it on both the internal and external SD (it is not lost or deleted). My external SD card is a 32gb class 10 card formatted with FAT 32. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can get TWRP backup to external SD working? Thanks.
I would have posted to the appropriate developers forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749678&page=9 , but I am not allowed as I am a noob with less than 10 posts . Thanks.
Best Regards,
Jon

Never mind . I ran H2testw software on my SD card and determined that is is a fake. Sold to me on ebay as a 32gb card and it is actually only a 2gb card!! Filing a dispute with the seller right now!!
so I selected "internal use only" for my microSD card in CM13, and now that I went back to stock ROM, I can't use the SD card anymore and Windows nor tools will allow me to format it. Do I have to throw it away or can I still use it somehow?
