Any success with SDHC? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hi,
Did anyone get success in using SDHC (mini SD cards >2GB)?

nope tried em all, no good

The hardware does not support SDHC.
The best you can do is a 4G MiniSD. They are hard to find, but search for "MDA 4G" and you can find them. I have one and it works well.

SDHC driver from VOX

Is it possible to use the SDHC driver from VOX platform on Tornado? I guess the question is whether they share the same SD hardware?
Thanks.
Has anyone tried whether SDHC works with any of the latest WM6 releases? Didn't read no posts in that direction...
Would sure be sweet to get SDHC running on the Tornado. In fact, the option to use HC is what's pushing me towards buying a new device since I'm using my phone (C600) as a digital audio player every day.
Its a no go so far
I just tried (i have 2x4gb miniSDhc cards) and Tornado with WM6 v6 does not see any card installed :-/
Thanks for the info man! To bad it doesn't work yet.

[Q] Share your NFC SD CARD experience!

Update/edit :
I contacted Moneto on Facebook whether their NFC mirco SD card works with the HTC Sensation and their response was :
[T]he HTC Sensation is compatible with moneto. All the phones listed on our site have been tested thoroughly to work with our product. There other phone models that work with moneto but are not officially supported because we have not tested them.

original post:
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has tried a NFC micro sd card in the HTC Sensation. Or any other phone without internal nfc capabilities?
Did it work well?
Any problems with connectivity?
Limitations vs internal NFC?
Experience with NFC tags?
Please share your thoughts, so I know what to expect before I buy
Pretty sure we can't use NFC SD cards because we have a metallic SD slot.
Sent from my DKOS using Tapatalk 2
This is true, the drawback of the NFC SD card is it can NOT be used in metal card slot. Therefore, we can NOT use the NFC SD card due to our metallic card holder slot. You can google this and it will explain. Hope this helps!

Ok! Thanks for clearing that out!
Now you mention the metal card slot, I remember reading something about it...
I was starting to doubt because I read things like these :
The new moneto mobile wallet for Android also includes support for several additional devices, including the Samsung Galaxy SII, Samsung Infuse 4G and the HTC Sensation 4G

so I thought there was a way of making it possible to work...
Sorry, can't post url because I have so little posts
Yes, if you google the NFC SD card it states right away that it can not be used with metal card slot. Check it out, you will see what I'm saying. Not sure at all why it would state clearly that it can NOT be used with metal card holder, then turn around and recommend use with HTC sensation? Do google the NFC SD card so you can read for yourself that it says it won't work with metal card slot. Kinda crazy they recommend use with HTC sensation after making the comment it's not compatible with metal slot?? Someone should ask them about this?? Best wishes!

Update :
I asked Moneto on facebook
Hi!
I was wondering if the HTC Sensation is compatible with Moneto? According to moneto.com/getmoneto/product.php?productid=17684 it does.
However, I read "[Phones] with a metallic SD card slot won’t work" (nearfieldcommunication.org/sd-sim-cards.html) and the HTC Sensation has a metallic slot.
Can you please help me?

Thank this might be a cool holidays-gift :victory:
I will also update the opening-post, so people won't have to read the whole thread.
Apparently, Moneto uses an extra sticker on the inside of the back cover to improve the NFC signal.
video of this : vimeo.com/32297042
Anyone who knows another manufacturer?
Moneto is mainly for USA and recently UK also, but I'm from Europe (Belgium) + I'm more interrested in the NFC tags (for tasks), than the 'mobile wallet'-feature...
Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Em what an uSD? because google wasn't very helpful. If it acts as a flash drive then it should work with JB roms and AOSP roms.

uSD: micro SD, Storage card. HTC One S doesnt have uSD and HTC Sensation (and much more other phones) yes.
USB OTG + cardreader is your only option. Well, except cloud storage of course.
Never heard the term "uSD" before. The closest I can think of is "USD" (United states dollars)

lol sorry for the confusion. micro are said with the latin prefix "µ", and in electronics, is commonly used "u" (because is difficult to write "µ" in a capacitor or inductor).
