WM6 8525 AT&T Release

Has anyone seen the official AT&T WM6 release for the 8525 that was made available this morning? I can't help but wonder if this release could be ported over to the 8125..... Any Ideas?

I haven't seen the release numbers for it, but some of the roms we have now are ports of the leaks of this rom (as I understand it).

I guess what I'm looking for is a ROM based on the official ROM, Then I can decide what to keep and add. I've tried a couple of ROM's (TNT 5.0, XDA6) and even the light versions seem to much and seem to slow down my 8125.. Any suggestions?

Can this "os.nb" extracted from the ROM, be used with the Wizard? It doesn't seem like it because it's huge! 72MB. Either there's a whole lot more to it than the Wizard ROMs that I'm used to or it's filled with an incredible amount of bloat? Is the 8525 that much different?

How do you get the .nbf out of the .exe??

well you won't get a .nbf file out of this exe, but a .nbh file as it's a FW for the 8525 ...
you can use WinZIP for example (2 times ).

I ported this rom this morning. Its an older build but I'm impressed with the speed. After soft reset it has approximately 30~31 mb free with a 6mb page pool. There's no windows live and no onenote mobile but this doesnt bother me in the slightest. I'm keeping this rom for a while.

There's an extended rom and a radio. These two increase the size of the rom.

How about maybe the Radio/GSM will actually work on AT&T unlike any other build other than the loon's 318 which does work.

I would like to see an official build as well. Much more stable in general.

I've attached a screen of the ROM ver and date.
It shows:
ROM version 3.62.502.3
ROM date 10/11/07
Radio version 1.54.07.00
Is this old? What versions are in the current ROM's on XDA?

The build number is 18128.4.4. Currently the latest build available to wizard users is 18533, so technically speaking the AT&T build is old. That being said, I'm not one of those people who have to have the latest rom, I like my roms quick and stable regardless of how old people might think they are.

Peter, if you have this ROM in kitchen form, would you be willing to share it? I could dump it, but my tools to dump Hermes ROM's are on another computer, and I'd like to simply take a look at the OEM folder of this ROM.

I have this in kitchen format on my work machine (won't have access to it till Monday), but how do you port from one device to another?
Is it as simple as replacing the device-specific files from a Wizard WM6? If so, I had found a list of device-specific files, but I don't know if this list is correct or comprehensive. Anyone know?

Look for the build numbers e.g. Build 21231 later number means later build. However and thi is a biggie later does not mean better. You need to decide what you want or just try a load of the roms and see what you like, loads of great stuff here and some great people to help out.

What software do you want? Be specific on what you need, and use the search link in my sign to search this forum and find what you need.

Maybe I am looking for the wrong thing then. What I need is the original ATT 6.1 upgrade rom. All HTC links are dead for this phone.
If someone has the ATT 6.1 release I would really appreciate it.

With the exception of the very first one, all links seem to be active. Also you can go to the threads that discuss each individual ROM.

Don't think your post helped at all since I had already checked there and
the link to the official final ATT ROM is dead. I had already checked and that is why I asked if someone here had it.
Seems to make the most sense to post here since people here probably have roms saved and maybe someone with more than 9 posts could upload it or has it archived online and would share the link.

can i install the following rom on my tilt2 (presently iam using NRGZ28 titanium rom with HardSPL_V2_00R3_185HSPL)
the rom is on htc uk site released on 18th march 2010 (i couldnt type the link as this site dint allow me to so pls check it out)
& i knw if i install this above mentioned rom my tilt2 keyboard will not work properly as the tilt2 doesnt have number rows on the top so will this cab help in making it fine "ATT Keyboard Fix.cab" this cab is made by NRGZ28 so will it work on the official rom too ?

You can install any rom to your device as long as:
a. Your device is unlocked (HSPL)
b. The rom you are trying to flash in meant for your device (don't change roms between CDMA and GSM phones)

Yes you can flash it. As long as you have hardspl on your phone, you can flash any Rhodium ( GSM ) rom you want.

yes exactly thats the rom,& but while downloading it,it asks for my serial number & when i enter my tilt2 serial number it gives me a message saying "this rom is not meant for ur device" & doesnt download,
but while i was finding a solution to this,i found a forum on wiki,which gave an other serial number to download official roms ( and again iam unable to post links as iam a junior member so below in red is wht exactly written on tht page)
Use this serial number HT95WLL03202 to download the official rom from htc.com if you have a branded Rhodium ie: Vodafone, O2,T-Mobile etc. If you have a branded Rhodium do not use your phone's serial number as HTC will not allow you to download because your operator wants you to get the rom update from them and not from HTC
so can i use that serial number & if yes then iam still left with my 1 unsolved question,regarding the keyboard layout at&t has,how to cope up wid it
P.S sorry if i asked many question & if its irritating

& also i live in india so on htc site for downloading rom which region shall i select asia1 or asia2, i have no idea wht differences it has

The reason that HTC requires a serial # is because if you do not have hardspl on your phone and you try to flash a rom not meant for your phone, you can brick it. So HTC tries to keep you from being able to even download it to begin with.
Most of the rom updates are all the same, whether you get it from the UK site or the Asian site. The difference is usually just branded operator stuff. So you can use that serial # to download that rom, or download thelatest official roms from here. WWE means world wide english. Just make sure that it is a GSM rom, Sprint or Verizon roms will harm your phone.
The AT$T keyboard fix, should fix your keyboard on a non AT$T rom. I have to ask however, how can you go back to a slow bloated official rom after using one of NRG's great custom roms ?

but in the energy rom,theirs no htc written no,windows written,ill tell u hw an energy rom starts,it shows a black screan with energy rom written on it & then a blackish red screen with Energy written on it & then it starts,no htc logo & no windows logo thts wht i dont like,
& do mean tht the official rom (i mean the unbranded rom from htc) is slower than NRGZ, if that then i might keep the NRG rom

I think all CM kernels are for old radio.

our phones will never support anything but flash from htc or whoever
you need a snapdragon processor for flash otherwise

I have Kernal version 2.6.33.3-cyanogenmod, build # EPE54B, have Aman-Ra recovery v1.6.2 In order to root the first time I had to down grade and use sappimg, is that what Im going to have to do again or...Thanks in advanced and again please forgive my noobness, I wasnt sure what Info you would need so I just gave what I knew.

not sure why your here or what your doing - you have a 32b radio which should be for mt3g and g1 which is the g1/dream forums
our radio is 3.22 ebi1 radio - this rom is not compatible for u

Oh man, HTC really did a number on the Espresso Sense UI, everything is more pimped out.
It's quite fast and I hope for more updates.
