Hi everyone,
From last few weeks i have been having some battery issues.
Today I found something amazing which is worth sharing with you all.
I know that my battery was almost dead, but i was not ready to believe untill i found that the indiacator present in the battery indicated it to be dead.
There is a small white sticker near the terminals. it is not just a sticker, infact it is a batter life indicator.
Few months ago it was white as you can see in the picture. from past few weeks i have started experiencing some battery issues. WHen I saw the battery the sticker had turned pink.
I did'nt notice much, untill today, when my battery stopped working at all and when I saw the sticker it had turned dark red, indicating that my battery is dead completely.
So guys u can also check your battery life status and post your results in this thread.
I have the white one... its mean my batery still good, even not sustained a day..
It not the battery life indicator. It is the indicator for service. He specifies, whether there was a battery in water or not. Today has wetted its saliva (there was a white indicator), and it has reddened. So it not the indicator of survivability of the battery.

I was told by one of the guys at HTC the service center, that it indicates that the battery is dead because it is red.
i got a dead old battery right here with a white sticker. i rubbed some water on the sticker and it turned red. it is really just a water indicator
Yup, the white sticker aint an indicator of battery life atleast. My battery, which will not work for more than an hour inspite of showing full charge, is a virgin white even now....
i bought a new one... working great. when rubbed water turned red.
Even the guy at the htc service center has appologised!
He said that "he idiot thought so"!!!

I invested in a spare battery for my N1.. the model number of the battery is identical to that that came with the phone.
The issue I have is that even though the battery works, the N1 displays a question mark in the notification bar, rather than a battery status reading.
I've tried running the battery dead, then recharging fully but it stays as a question mark. Is there anything else I need to do to get the reading to work, or is this a faulty or dodgy battery?
I have an extra battery from google and 2 exras from ebay with wall chargers.. all work fine.. no issues.. return the battery
I installed a Gorilla Gadgets 3500 mAh extended life battery in my Evo Shift. When I plugged it in the led light started flashing red, green, red, green. Doesn't that indicate overheating or something? It is cool to the touch. Or is this normal?
I believe its cause the battery is overheating, I could be wrong though.
I turned it on and checked the battery widget and it said it was overheating and discharging but it was cool to the touch. I guess there is a problem with the battery itself.
Yeah I don't know if thats a regular occurrence for extended batteries to overheat like that due to the increase capacity but if its just yours, I'd return it and get a new one before it screws up your phone somehow.
Sometimes battery's can be faulty, if it swells throw it away, no good, I use to have RC electric cars and used li-po battery's (same as phone) it can get warm but not hot, once it gets hot it can swell and start a fire (burst). I'm not trying to scare you, just letting you no what happens, if you use the phone and it gets warm just pull the battery out till it cools

Device:
VZW Blue SGS3 32GB, original battery
The issue:
This only happens when the device turns itself off due to low battery. When I try to turn on the phone it shows am empty battery icon (i.e., no green or red) with a huge grey recycle type symbol in the center of the battery (a circular grey version of the green recycle symbol, with two half circles instead of three corners of a triangle). This image flashes on screen for maybe 3 seconds and then immediately powers off.
At this point the phone doesn't respond to normal reboot measures (hold power button, hold power + volume, etc). The only way to get the phone to respond is to re-seat the battery. Then, when you plug the power cord in, it will vibrate once then show the battery icon again and turn off.
At some random point in time the phone "revives" itself. Here's where the fun begins. When it "revives" itself (can be anywhere from 10 mins to 10 hours later) the battery looks like it was charging the entire time (i.e., after 2 hours it has a 40% charge)! One time when it revived it was fully charged!
Background:
This happens on the stock ROM as well as Slim Bean (2.6 & 2.7). That's half the reason I went with Slim Bean...exceptional battery life. And, it has worked, as it's only happened twice since switching to Slim Bean. It was happening once a week with the stock ROM because the battery would frequently go below 15% without my knowledge. Now, sure, I can control this by making sure the battery never gets down to 15%. However, a $600 device shouldn't lock up just because the battery gets low!
I did call VZW about this and they were pretty much clueless. They didn't seem to be familiar with that symbol. Their only suggestion was a new battery. I will take them up on the offer, just to get a free battery, but I really don't think it's the battery. If it was the battery then you would imagine this should happen randomly and not just when the battery was low. To me it sounds like the battery charge/protection circuit flaking out. Here's the real thing to consider to discount the battery: the grey icon remains even when the battery itself is at 100%.
Has anyone else seen this problem? I'm at a loss because I can't even google for it...the search terms are too common. So if anyone knows a specific name for this problem, do share!

Lol, same exact thing that is happening to my phone. Ive learned to deal with it because my phone has physical damage was tl buy a stronger charger or keep the one I already had and not let the phone die. The things you described is 100% my phone lol.

So basically about 3 Weeks ago i managed to drop my Xperia J in water, After dropping it in water i noticed the touchscreen wasn't working so i decided to take the battery out and dry it first of all i noticed a sticker ontop of the battery had gone red, after wiping the phone and battery i placed it in some rice for one night in the morning the touchscreen started working again but whenever i turned the phone off/ took the battery out and put it in the illumination bar lights up red (Does this indicate my battery is damaged?) Second of all My Battery is showing 100% & charged whenever i place it on charge but realistically it's on about 50% and i don't know when my phones about to die, Surely it's not the Rom is have as this morning some reason it was working normally until i rebooted the device
So what do i do now, I need to know is my device damaged or is my battery, because i'll be willing to purchase a new battery
Thanks for yuor help

When you drop your device, is it in on/off position?
If it in on position, it should be the battery :fingers-crossed:
Otherwise, try to go to service center

My phone was on but it was locked
Hi there!
My honor 6 is fallen in water a couple of months ago. Hardware and software is ok but after charging the battery (to 100%) the phone thinks it's still under charge showing the message "under charge" and the led light stays swiched on for a lot of hours. But when the battery indicator decreases the value ( about 58%) it suddenly switch off the phone.
Do you think is the battery damaged of can i "calibrate" it again?
The battery quality seems to be ok, i use the phone all the day without problems ex pet this indicator fail.
Thanks for our help!!!

It seems like a hardware problem. Try a factory reset and see if it persists.
You can also give light manager a try if you are rooted...
bad battery probably from short circuit
if it under warranty dont try to do any . just go service make them try to know where exactly the issue !.
