Hello!I have a question i`m new around here and i do not know to much about this device but i want to buy this days one and do not know what to do the device is locked to vodafone and i`m a Orange user my question is,is there a way to sim unlocked if i reflash a new ROM on it or it will stay locked on vodafone forever?please help me

First of all welcome to this part of the forums, second of all wrong section.
There is no such thing as free sim unlock for this device, you will have to pay for it. Though most operators leave it open there are only a few that locks it.
Flashing a new ROM will not unlock it.

From what I have read if I understand correctly if I root the verizon droid 2 global, then install a custom rom the phone will be unlocked and I can use any provider outside the usa.
Can you confirm if this is in fact correct?
Also I live in Florida but have a german cell phone with a german chip that I use here in Florida. If the above does unlock the phone, when I put my german chip in the phone will it work in the usa or do I need to also do the band unlock first?

No. Custom ROMs don't support the SIM unlocking mechanism of the D2G, nor they disengage the SIM lock.
You have to unlock the device with an unlock code to use it with SIM cards that aren't Verizon-issued.

The unlock code is specific to each handset, so no-one has one that they can give you.

I would like to unlock the bootloader and unlock SIM Card.
The bootloader says that is not possible in the normal way, then I would know of no way to do this?
And if there is some reliable website to unlock the SIM card?

theres only the official way at the moment and thats not for branded phones with =no in the service menu. devs are working on a way to unlock for us but no sucsess yet
How can i unlock my Alcatel OT6012X(California) permanently for all networks? I search on forum but i dont find anything for my phone.
PS: The phone is Orange Hiro.
You'd have to contact the Carrier or look for unlock codes on Ebay.

My phone was unlocked but I changed the ROM and is blocked again.
Kindly follow How To Unlock HTC Hero (especially the Orange UK) and in case of issues, post in that thread someone familiar with the device may be of assistance.
Flashing Roms does not lock the phone. Flashing full firmware including baseband and bootloader may do so.
I was thinking about buying this phone through T-Mobile and wondering if the bootloader was unlockable without breaking anything thank you a head of time

Not yet. The bootloader is locked on T-Mobile.

Hi there, I have CleanROM on my trusty evita device on Rogers Wireless and needed to unlock it to use in Asia. Can anyone confirm that the SIM unlock would work regardless of the ROM?
Also, is there a way to use the code provided without a foreign SIM? My entire household has Rogers...
