Tmobile HTC my touch flashes?? - General Topics

I have done some time searching and reading but there seem a lack of info on the my touch from tmobile. I don't want to use the wrong flash and brick my phone. Is there a compatible phone to the my touch. I think the flashes for the G1 might work, but then again this is a newer phone so they may not. If anyone can point me in the right direction would be great thanks.

elf and vogue

What is the difference between ELF and Vogue ?
CDMA2000 vs. GSM
phone network
it is actually GSM V/S CDMA becoz Elf is GSM & Vogue is CDMA
what the hell have u written in chinese. dont you know it is a forum in English language
The guy writing in Chinese is a spammer
How to know which one I have
First of all, I'm new to this so please be patient.
This is the first HTC phone I put my hands on because I hate Windows, I want to install Android on it but I just don't know if this is an Elf or a Vogue.
All I know is that it looks like them it has the HTC logo in front and in the back cover it says Touch.
How do I know it this is an Elf or a Vogue?
Can I find out by serial number?
do you use a sim card? if so, its an elf
Other differences not mentioned here are that the Elf has Wifi, and the processor and memory available are different (higher for the Vogue).

Htc Fuze Unlock From At&t (usa) To Work In Europe

Hello everyone,
I am new to the phone tweaking world while I am an IT technician, I going to visit friends in the U.S and I am planning to buy an AT&T HTC FUZE.
As some of you probably know the prices in Europe are kind of outrageous so I want to buy it from there.
My question to anyone who can help is whether I can flash the AT&T software and put the native HTC on, or at least do something for the software that can make it fully function with my network (Cosmote) in Greece.
Thank you in advance for the help,
Yes assuming ur willing to buy the phone full price and then have a friend with ATT get the unlock code for you, or buy an unlock code. You do not need to reflash the radio because the Fuze has quadband EDGE and triband HSDPA unlike the European Touch Pro. You can however flash a custom ROM which will work with your carrier. (The stock ROM will work too but in my opinion, the ATT one is slow)
The fuze is the htc touch pro aka diamond which is what you will find it under in the forum
here is a link to the rom section if you are interested in flashing a new rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=430
but before flashing you may want to check here ...it a guide to flashing your first rom

EDIT- you may also want to sim unlock if you are going on a different network.....
here is more info on that

The box my phone came in says HTC621. When I do searches on it there is so many names that look the same. 620, dash, t-mobile, excaliber.......
Are all these referring to the exact same phone and I can rely that the comments will do the same for my phone?
Have a look on Excalibur section, that´s your device with all this names:
HTC S620 / HTC S621 / Rogers & HTC S621 / Dopod C720W / Dopod C720 / T-Mobile Dash / T-Mobile MDA Mail / O2 Xda Cosmo / Orange SPV E600

HELP Buying Touch Pro for Australia

I live in Australia and I'm thinking about buying a Touch Pro from USA since it seems cheaper. I was wondering is there anything I have to look out for that might stop it form working here. Eg. Network issues.
I'm thinking about this one
Hi,
The phone in the link operates on the CDMA network, you'll want the GSM version (the one that uses a simcard). It is also network locked and will need to be hacked/unlocked.
Very cheap though...
Thanks
Some of them say A & T service required for some of the features. What does that mean?
you don't really need to "hack" it. just get someone to create your unlock code for you. you can get it here on xda or even ebay. I believe olinex can provide you the unlock code for a price. I can gaurantee that these guys here at xda are very helpful so dont' worry about that too much.
you should think about what band your provider in aus is using.
Good luck!
EDIT: those "features" are ATT specific and you can make those disappear. check the links on "unbloating" your phone. It's pretty annoying but it does not do anything for your phone if you don't use ATT's network. Check out the thread on flashing for beginners. Read it carefully and if you have questions, be very specific.
Thanks for the help. I been using a jasjam (hermes) with a flashed rom but the hermes is in bad condition so thinking about getting a new phone.
Dood, I'm in Aus and also upgraded to Touch Pro from JasJam.
A warning. You will not get Telstra NextG video calls. The touch pro does not operate on Telstra's band. Just in case you were/are a Telstra man...
Also, you should be able to ebay a cheap as new unit in Australia... I've seen many go for under $300.
A brand new phone for less that $300???
What are you searching "HTC touch pro"?
Touch Pro or Fuze in Australia?
Mate, check the 3G/UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA frequencies used by your provider!!!
The TP AND the Fuze will work AS PHONE in almost any GSM network (beside some Asian countries i.e. Japan) since they are 4 band GSM devices. However, using the benefits of high speed data aka 3G you have to check which band your provider is using. AFAIK Telstra is using 850/1900 which matches the ATT US network while t-mobile and the std. TP use 900/2100. IF you are with Telstra get a Fuze and it will work. People here in the US buy the HD (not offered here in the US by ATT) in Australia to operate it in the US network.
Good luck and don't get screwed.

Telus battery compatibility

I have the telus TP2 (T7379). I want to order an extended battery or at the least a second standard battery. I am aware of the subtle differences between T-Mobile, Telus, AT&T, etc. but can't seem to find a compatibility chart for the batteries. Are all TP2 batteries cross compatible? If not, does anyone know of any that work with Telus (T7379)?
Thanks for any help.
Google is your friend, part number lookup reveals the following
HTC Dash 3G / Hero / HTC Snap S511 / Tilt 2 / Touch (CDMA) / HTC XV6900 / HTC P3450 / Touch Pro2 (CDMA) / XV6175 Ozone

Thanks cosmok. I did find that info, just wanted to be sure that the Telus TP2 (CDMA) is the same as the American versions. I know that Telus has the 3.5 headphone jack and the others don't. As well I need to order a different back cover because it's also a different layout then the American versions. Hence I wanted to be sure the battery was the same. My battery part # was worn off so I couldn't confirm that way, and Telus didn't list the battery number.
EDIT: Finally found it... rhod160.. and it is a standard. I feel silly now (I did assume as much) but wanted to know for sure before spending money and time to order it.
Thanks everyone.
