I've been trying to download youtube videos onto my pc and then Syncing them over to my omnia i910. When I do so, I get errors. What formats do the videos need to be in?
I've tried downloading them from my phone with apps, but they dont really work well.
So can anyone tell me how to download them from my pc to my phone without these errors?
I'm currently using Ask and Record toolbar to download the videos.
if you mean wmp then that only support very very very few formats
if you want to play various formats on pocketpc get a players like coreplayer
or TCPMP
wmp is a pretty poor player in general

please could somebody tell me which video files can be played on my XDA. i have tried a few but i can only get the sound. yes, they are video files because they play as videos on my PC
thanks
every type of media file can be played if you dont use windows media plyaer and use something like betaplayer
if you only want media player you can only view wmv files
Phone: HTC 6800
Provider:US Cellular
Windows Mobile 6.0
How do I play other video formats? Also i cannot go to youtube and view those videos either, or videos in general such as those from lorouchepac.com in the LPACTV sections.
Doesnt seem to want to play MP4s or anything.
Playing video on a 6800 mogul.
Harris,
Go on, search, download and install "TCPMP" media player. It will play lots of media types. There is an associations list so you can set what types of media you want it to work for. It will work before Windows Media player if you have one set for this. If you want WMP to work instead, uncheck the box for the particular file type. Also, you can download an application from Youtube to play the videos from the phone. Mine works quite well. hope this helps.

Been googling for a while now with no luck. Wondering if there are any media players out there that will play .rmvb files?
Not keen on converting these as they are daily dramas releases. Was thinking it would be great if i could download them and watch them straight on the phone.
Thanks
the cowon s9 player can handle .avi formats and its not as powerful as the nexus one so i dont see why we can't make it work... can't be as simple as installing a codec on linux i guess
I found this media player which claims to support many different formats, including rmvb. But I haven't tried it myself. Please give it a try and report back.

tested it with .mp4 and in landscape it crashes and soft resets my phone. tried it twice with same result.
EDIT: tested and it does play .rmvb in landscape but not fullscreen.
THanks
free rmvb player for Windows/PC
if you need a free rmvb player you can download one from link below
http:// www.iorgsoft.com/ RMVB-Converter/
this is for windows, if you have a Mac, doesn't matter, find one there
but the free rmvb player can only install on you rcomputer, rather than on your phone, so, the easiest way should be convert rmvb to your phone, hope this would be helpful.
download qqplayer.. although it has some chinese characters.. everything is in englsh and very easy to us.. no need to convert!!
Hello.
I'am currently looking for an application for my android phone that lets me download the mp3 directly of the videos on youtube. I'am well aware that there are tons of youtube rippers out there for android, but they all seem to only support video ripping. It seems odd to me that there are no such software, because it's so obviously pratical for people that just want the mp3's of the music videos and dont want to waste space on the video itself.
I know i get a standard audio ripper and rip the mp3 of my downloaded videos, but i would like to save that step and just get the mp3 directly.
Optimaly iam looking for a program that lets me choose wether i want to rip video or audio from youtube.
Thx in advance

I have an HTC Evo, and installed the "arcmedia" media player because I needed something that would play .wmv video files. I installed dropbox as well, which is where the videos live. When I initially tried to play the video via dropbox, it said I didnt have a media player installed that could play the file. After I installed arcmedia, it will play, but only sound, via the default media player. If I download the video to the phone, and browse to the video with the arcsoft media player it will, in fact, play. So my question would be, how do I tell my phone that arcsoft is now the default media player? Anyone know? Should be possible, yes? Thanks!
