I'm new to Windows Mobile and having installed quite a few applications, I would like to know where the programs are installed to. Is it installed into the phone's internal memory or on the memory card? It's not like installing a program on the desktop where you can select which location to install to. Please enlighten me on this.
Thanks in advance for the help!
Whenever I install a programme I always get the choice of location , "device" or "storage card", always assumed this was a standard process
it is depending on which phone you have. A diamond doesnt have sd card slot so will automatically be installed on internal memory. If you dont have an sd card installed in your device at the time of installation, you wont get a choice
Also some apps can only be installed to device memory and you wont be given a choice then.

Does any friend knows how to install a program to a desired place on a htc diamond. E.g. I want to install a prog, but not in device section of the phone as is in low space, but in sd card. When i tried to install it, it always installed in the divice area, not in sd card. If any can help, i will be very much appreciate that.
Thank u
Some applications will not install anywhere other than device memory. Try installing one of your other apps to the storage card first. Personally I install everything to card if i am given the choice.

As far as I am aware, the HTC Diamond does not have an SD card. There is Internal Storage and Device Memory, right?
I have a medical app that requires me to install it directly to my storage card. Then when I plug my storage card back into my Fuze, the cab for the program is supposed to automatically begin installation. But no matter what I do, this is not happening, but I know the program install correctly. Where would this cab be hiding?

I could not understand why it should start automatically? If you are talking about Skyscape, once it is installed then it will not install again and again.
Let me explain. The program I am installing is called UptoDate. It copies all of it's files to your microSD card, and then when you insert your card into your Fuze, the phone is supposed to automatically detect the program, and ask if you want to install it. This is what is missing for me. My phone is not detecting the program, and it has in the past.
nevermind, I found the installation cab buried into the installation disk.
anyone know a way this works properly,
basically the registry has been tweaked to save mail to storage card, but when you reboot the phone the storage card changes to storage card2,
ive disabled sense/touch flo,
nothing else is is booting up in windows mobile
before i reboot though the mail does store on storage card, but when i reboot it makes a folder on the phone memory
how can i stop this once and for all??
manny questions on this but nowhere answers
+1
I have same problem.... no solution ... still working
I don't think there is a fix for this, its due to the way the hardware works on newer HTC devices.
Problem is when booting the phone, the registry is read before the the SD card is ready.
So when the phone reads "storage card" as a location and the card is not ready the phone will make a folder called storage card.
Now when the SD card is finally ready it want to call itself "storage card" but the name is allready taken, so now it names itself "storage card2"
ive sorted this when i had this problem
open up resco file explorer and you'll see that it sees the device memory, storage card and storage card 2. 'storage card' will be empty, so just delete it, then reboot. (dont rename storagecard 2).
when you turn it back on, everythings in order again
Old problem requires new solution
Hi,
This problem is happening in the old WM5 and previous.
The say to avoid the creation of Storage Card before the mounting of the real SD was simply removing the "messaging" application from the Today Screen.
Now, the solution seems to be different.
I hope we can find it soon.

All working now
thanks
Can you confirm that you have all mails in the storage card?
Please note that only attachments can be moved to Scard without this problem, and it is when you try to move all mails that after a reset the Store card 2 issue happens.

FOUND THE ANSWER!!
After many reboots etc.,
1.Delete the storage card on the device!
2.Eject the storage card on the phone and reinsert (while phone is still on). (check filemanager shows Storage Card Only)
3.Hit Windows Start, go to email, then menu, then options, then storage.
4. Tick "When available, use storage card to store attachments", Click OK.
5.Restart HTC Sense and Voilla all is fixed!
Are you sure your have now all maiLs in Sdcard, or only the attachments?
Hi all,
i found the solution! (actually all post help me find out).
SOLUTION:
1- remove your SD-Card from phone.
2- open file manager, you should see "STORAGE CARD". if you open it, you can see there are some folders for email (inobx.********).
3- delete all. "STORAGE CARD" & "STORAGE CARD2" &...
4- now insert your SC-Card. it will be "STORAGE CARD" :cyclops:
good luck
Hi,
I have a weird problem that only happened days after I installed App2SD. I used GOT Open Recovery to format my SDcard and installed App2SD, but not knowing which version to install, i installed both the normal one and the symlink one.
I proceed to install all my apps and such and everything is into the SD card. Then just today, I found that my apps cannot access the SD card. Such as the camera, even titanium reports that no card is mounted. Under settings>SD card, there used to be a value but now its shown unavailable. But if I used astro, i can access the sdcard and launch stuff from it with no problems.
I can even connect my phone to my PC and see the SD card contents using SD Share.
I tried to reinstall App2SD using the GOT Open Recovery, but unable to. It'll hang there. for both versions, with and without symlink.
May I know what is happening or what can I do to enable my phone to see my card? Can I issue commands using terminal on my phone? If so, may I know what commands?
Hello, I just got a new A20 and I downloaded all the apps that I had on my previous phone to my new one. However for some reason, even though the phone does detect my SD Card (I can access the files there without problem) it doesn't let me move apps to the SD card. I always do this with every app I can to liberate space so I'd like to do it on my new phone too. Does anyone know if you have to activate it somewhere?
I guess you could try the " Force allow apps on external " in developer options.
You can install App2sd and link app data to sd card
Bouth answers are true ringers theres nothing technical to it i suggest a top grade sd card
Now i see what you ment its imposible dor some reason or other well not imposible but highly complicated to move apps and obb data to sd card
