I think is should be the correct forum for this. If any of you use core player, nitrogen, pocket music, or whatever, you'll notice that windows media player often hijacks your bluetooth controls. I've noticed this in quite a few pre cooked roms, but not when I cook my own using the kitchen. Is this a bug or a feature of the chefs and can it be disabled?
What you want is a stock "BTHCI.DLL", if i recall correctly

the stock BTHCI.DLL for WM 6.1/Raphael does as you describe. WMP is always controlled by AVRCP, no matter what player you're using (unless it's HTC Music Player). The modified BTHCI.DLL that Da_G provided for WM6.5 corrects that "issue" by allowing other media players to access AVRCP control. However, this breaks the AVRCP functionality of HTC Music Player.
If you prefer to use the 6.5 BTHCI.DLL file, I made a cab install of it:
T-Back 6.5 BT Driver.cab
Thanks to Da_G for providing the updated driver!
P.S. The reason you don't have the issue when cooking in Da_G's 6.5 Kitchen is because Da_G included it in the "Mods" folder.
wow man, you guys rock. Thanks G and thank you captain for the cab. You guys and this community just make every visit fantastic. Thanks a lot for this. Windows media player was driving me nuts.
I have a Sprint Touch Pro and was a little frustrated that I couldn't use the AVRCP controls from my BT8010 with my favorite mp3 player Pocket Music. When I found this thread, I was excited to use the T-Back 6.5 BT Driver and it worked very well! The play/pause and skip/next features work well within PocketMusic! However, now in order to get the audio to play through my bluetooth headset, I need to go to my Bluetooth settings and disconnect then connect my BT8010 before it works.
Has anyone run into this problem too?
Caption_Throwback, You are my Hero!!!!! I have been without AVRCP controls since last May. I use Pocket Player, as it has many controls that I need, but I've been frustrated by their lack of support on this problem.
I will be sending you $$ tomorrow morning.

I'm on an at&t fuze, WM6.1, works like a charm. I mean, all the time, everytime. I use Pocket Player from Conduits for my media player. I have Forward xx seconds and Pause/play again. Life is Good! ps, I don't use Windows Media player, so can't say if it works or not.
you are so right - thank you so much
Thanks for this cab file - I've been looking for an answer for this for ages!
I've installed the cab and bt headset no longer starts up wmp, but still cannot get it to control Coreplayer - do I need to set it up somehow elsewhere, like ACRCP app, and if so, what settings should I use?
Many thanks

It works fine with CorePlayer for me without doing anything. Did you soft reset after installing the cab and/or restart CorePlayer?
Yes mate - done all that. I am using Energy rom 6.5
Maybe I'll try reinstalling Coreplayer or something
Just found this thread and wondering if it will help me. I am presently using NRG's energy ROM for the touch diamond 2 (6.5)
Since going to the 6.5 ROM, BT control only links to WMP but I want it to link to HTC Audio Manager. Will this cab have the desired effect?

Sorry, dont know too much about this but you say it breaks the functunality for htc audio player - it is already not responding to this program. My aim is to disable windows media player funtionality and then somehow create a link to htc audio manager. It probably cant be done but this is one of the few posts I have found that offered a glimmer of hope.
hope they resolve the issue on future ROMs

Unfortunately, you can't have it both ways .
The BT driver included in the ROM you're using is the same one posted in this thread as a cab. It enables AVRCP for all other players (and prevents WMP from launching when trying to use AVRCP controls with another app), but doesn't work with the HTC Music Player. The "stock" BT driver will restore the AVRCP functionality of HTC Music Player, but if you want to use a player other than that one or WMP, then AVRCP won't work at all; it'll simply launch WMP.
P.S. Just to clarify - with the stock BT driver, WMP does NOT override HTC Music Player AVRCP control. So if that's all you're trying to accomplish (for it to behave as the stock ROM), that is doable.

What is the use of this plugin ?
I think they want to see if that is what allows the hardware buttons to control the WMPlayer software. With WM6 I think they are having problems getting the buttons to work right.
actualy no this plug in does not do that. this is already ben talked about in the vox forums. this plug in lets u control media player from the homescreen, nothin to do with the media buttons

WMP is so primitive that it doesnt have an equalizer. I bought a pair of Shure I2Ct headset for my smartphone and with TCPMP's equalizer the sound is amazingly better. I can tweak the low frequencies and it feels like I have subwoofers right in my ears. The difference is so radical.
Also, the memory footprint is so much more lightweight with TCPMP. WMP mobile is a huge memory hog.
PlusPoints for WMP
OK, guys, but what about AVRC (AV RemoteControl)? Does TCMP have it? And what about the Ringtone-Subroutine?May it based on the WMP-Core? And a big plus; Only the WMPlayer got a Homescreen-Plugin, nice for all the Users without Extra-Player-Buttons.
And what about the Star-rating, Playlist-Sync or the other little bits around WMP?
Sure, the missed Equalizer and some others...I use both Players,TCMP sometimes have probs with Radio-streaming, but better for my Videos...

Hello just a quick question that should be answered quickly the many experienced members of this forum.
I am after a today plugin that controls Windows Media Player? or similar, for a WM6
i know there used to be a program called spd toplay, however it would appear as if they have stopped this.
however i have read that if i have a Kaiser with WM6, then it is already included as one of the many options. Is this true?
i wish i could upgrade from my N73 now!!!!!!!!
cheers.

Also, by any chance do you know of a similar app but with better looking icons?

Does that only work with Audio Manager or can it be made to work with Media Player as well?
it says on the site that mortplayer has a today plugin. i have mortplayer, and i dont have a today plugin. where can i find that?
I have finally gotten myself a TouchPro (my last device was TytnII), but have an "unusual" problem (one I never have experienced in any of my other WM devices).
When using A2DP (stereo bluetooth), it seems that the AVRCP-button-presses I do on my stereo headphones does not send to MortPlayer (my favorite) but to WindowsMedia player (if it is not is started it will start when I press one of the buttons on the headphones), it seems that on the TouchPro all AVRCP-button-calls goes to WMP and not MortPlayer.
...and I suspect this also is a problem for other people using other musicplayers on the TouchPro with StereoBluetooth!?
Is there some setting on the HTC Diamond (noticed the same on my girlfriends Diamond earlier) and HTC Touch Pro that oversteers other music apps in this area? If so, does anyone know how to get around it, with some registry key perhaps?
I have used A2DP for many years, and with several devices and headsets, so I not a total rookie in that area...and have gone though many issues with A2DP and AVRCP...but the last 2 years or so, everything has worked fine with all devices I have had...so it was a bit unexpected to get any issues with this. So any hint or tip is appreciated!
And yes, this might be a specific issue with MortPlayer and HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro...but this version of MortPlayer works fine in this area on all other WM phones I have tested it on (and that has been quite a few...HP's, Samsungs, and a lot of HTC models). ...so there probably is "something" special on the TouchPro...and hopefully something that can fairly easily be oversteered?
...cause starting to use "wired headphones" would be a bummer...it's so 80's! :-D
So I try to post a question in my beloved XDA-forum! Maybe some smart dude/gal has the answer?
Love the TouchPro though...especially the keyboard!
BTW, I checked the latest version (3.2) of Schaps Advanced Config, in case there was some trick there, and also looked a little through the registry, but did not find any answers there.
Same problem here, using Conduits Pocket Player. As far as I know, there's no solution yet, but the folks at Conduits are working on one.
Robrecht, thanks for info!
Then I at least know it is an general issue with TouchPro and Diamond, and not just specifically for MortPlayer on those...and that means more people have the issue...and gives more hope for a fix!
...and that Conduits might have an fix for their player...and hopefully that might help for MortPlayer too...og I might just have to convert!
OK...that is not very nice of me...hoping an issue afflicts MANY people, so it get fixed for me! :-D
Well, Pocket Player is really good and it works extremely well on a device with as much RAM as the Touch Pro. But with a little luck the Conduits guys will find a general solution that benefits users of all players.

it effects me too, if media player isn't opened then it will just open music from the music tab on touch flo 3d. but I play stuff in coreplayer (mainly vids, but would like to be able to pause them more effectively.
Is there a solution yet for PocketPlayer and AVRCP?

From what I've read on the Conduits forum HTC has somehow hardcoded the AVRCP mapping to the TF3D-buildin player. And the developers from Conduits had to do some tricks to find a workaround - here is a small statment from the conduits team:
We had to use some undocumented tricks to get this to work.

What I'm trying to say is, that there is no simple solution to get AVRCP running on an 3rd-party player. Thankfully Conduits has found a way but the developers from CorePlayer still have to work on this.

Breaking news!:
Well, I never gave up, so I kept investigating how to use Pocket Player with E100/W100 RC and know what? Now all keys works wonderful without a glitch, but only if the the E100/W100 device is linked to Windows MediaPlayer, here's how:
1.Install Attached MP_HTCWMPPlug_061031.CAB
2.Install PocketMusic
3.Install Conduits WMP Plugin Adapter (get it in Conduits webpage)
4.Inside Pocket Player, go to Options - Plugins, enter Configure WM Adapter, and check "Close WMP before loading" and "Intercept/Override WMP", also check "HTC WMP Control Plugin", checking both workarounds inside seems to do nothing so I kept them unchecked.
5. Close/Reopen App
That's it, all keys work now, remember if your default player is HTC Audiomanager, you must first need to change it to Windows MediaPlayer (use AdvancedConfig or your favorite tool).
I've tried also Coreplayer, but the plugin system is not well implemented, it tries to work, but fails, let's hope CoreCodec fix it.
There are other players that support WM Plugins, I'll try to test them, share your experiences.
If you use WM6.5, you might need to change Windows Media Player to an earlier version that supports E100/W100.
I've tested it in several ROMs, works fine.
Note: For user of other platforms that use E100/W100 RC, this solution should also work for you.
Link to a Windows Media Player that support E100/W100 (for WinMo6.5):

Great work so far.
I installed your cab. I am using MORT PLAYER and what should I say....
following buttons are working now:
play/paused
forward/backward
green/red phone button
not working
volume
Thats for me nearly perfect
Just to be in the clear, this is for PocketMusic of PocketMinds and not for Pocket Player of Conduits?
*edit: apparently it was for Pocket Player of conduits
now i have 1 small problem, i have Touch Pro2 and it seems i can't change the default audio player =\
*edit 2: that was not necessary apparently
nice work, will be using this one asap.. again great find mate!
I'm using HTC Touch Diamond 2 (Topaz) with WM 6.1.
Volume Control with RC E100 on Pocket Player does not work! By pressing the butten nothing happens (good news is, WMP does not opens, but volume can not be controlled by PP, too).
Any additional settings I have to consider?

Just tested this on a Touch Diamond and it works almost perfectly! the only problem is that when adjusting the volume, it wakes the screen up. a little annoying if the phone is in ya pocket. havent been able to find a way around this. suggestions anyone?
btw, very nice work Drakh for finding this one out. since HTC Audio manager doesnt support songs downloaded from iTunes I have had to use Coreplayer for listening to music from iTunes, well not anymore. and to think i was almost going to throw away my e100 cos it never worked in coreplayer. glad i didnt now

Same problem, if someone has the solution to make E100 work with CorePlayer ?
I don'i know if this helps anyone but I write it anyway...
I have just disabled HTC Audio Manager using Diamonf TF3D Config.
Whenever I want to use Pocket PLayer I need to first start it manually and as long as it is started I have no problems what-so-ever using the RC-W100 remote. If I close Pocket Player manually or restart the phone I need to restart Pocket Player...
Sorry to bump this but havent found the solution.
The e100 plays well with Pocket Player after installing the WMP plugins.
However, you need to start Pocket Player manually as the previous author posted too. If Pocket Player is not running and you press the PLAY button, then the Audio Manager starts.
Although it is not the biggest problem in the world, I'd like to know if there is a solution to it.
Probably making WMP default player over Audio Manager? (although .mp3 files open by default with Pocket Player)
Anyone that found a solution?
Why there is no interest in this Thread??
I can´t figure out why there is so little interest in this topic, I use the remote a lot, and still have not found any way to fully integrate with other appz but WMp and Manila Player. Whith the time I learned to love the HTC audio manager (Newest cookie home screen integrated) But now I can´t make my W100 to open the HTC audio manager it only controls WMP.
Please, we need the expert to pay some attention here.
Thanks
I agree - the remote is so (potentially) useful for listening to music when the phone is in a pocket etc, which I do alot.
To all cooks, in all of the most resent roms with WM6.5 or WM6.1 running TF3D 2.0/2.1 or higher the audiomanager doesn't work with avcrp (bluetooth remote control) so I have to get my phone out of my jacket when I want to go to the next song, my remote control doesn't work. I'm aware that this is a bug in the audiomanger, but is there anyone who have fixed this yet? I'm absolutely not a fan of wmp or other players, and I'm stuck with some old wm6.1 version where avcrp still works.
Does anyone has a solution for this?
Edit; CR192 Touch HD™ V6.5.0.0.2 has a new engine `Audio Manager Engine ( LEO )´ which works, maybe other rom cooks can use this aswell to get avcrp up and running
Hello!
I have same problem, i think the bug is in wich program has to answer to remote button presses. I think wmp and manilla audio manager are both answering to buttons on remote and all music playback goes to hell
Usualy when i press play/pause button audio manager starts to play song and wmp is starting in the background, then music starts to shater and in while all comes to hold
To listen to the music via bluetooth i disabled music tab in manilla, and im using wmp
BHole
I believe this should solve your issue. Except, if you Plan on using MSVC, make sure you install that first then the cab, that's only if you don't have it already in the ROM.
AVCRP fix
Here is a cab that i been using. and it works like a charm
Thanks for your reply's, I'll try to flash a new rom when I'm home with one (or booth) of the cabs. I'll let you know if it worked
