How to turn off displaying new sms on today screen? - General Questions and Answers

I think new windows mobile operating systems (6.0, 6.1, 6.5,...) go down in some segments.
I cant turn off sms chat (threated messages) without installing registry editor or displaying sms messages on today screen.
Lock-screen unavalable from Button configuration.
I dont know but i see same story as UIQ vs. UIQ3 OS.
UIQ3 is visually atractive but soooo limited.

SMS with Pocket Outlook NOT with built-in Palm App

This is something many people would like to have the choice and should not be that difficult to find out (registry?), but I'm not the big reg-hacker
The idea is how to set the Treo to write, show, send and receive SMS text messages with the standard pocket Outlook application of WM5.
Why?
Because I like to have emails and SMS collected within one application AND I want to sync SMS using Jeyo with my desktop Outlook.
Ideas?
hi, i always wondered, how it would be possible to save sms on my pc. with my vpa i used jeyo mobile extender, too. with the treo it doesnt work.
did you find a solution?
unfortunately not. sometimes I wonder how is it possible that only I do see such important things (from my point of view) but nobody else
Im using the Excalibur now and I am very happy with it, but still I ned to touch my Treo every evening, its just too sexy.

Kaiser Windows Mobile 6.1

Hi Guys,
Anyone knows when HTC will make it available?
Copy / Paste (finally!)
Domain Enroll in Settings (Enrolling in a domain will connect your device with company resources.)
New home screen (pan left and right to check out missed calls, notifications like email, sms, etc.)
Change Master Security Code
Added text input settings
Recent Programs when pressing Start menu
Threaded SMS!
When you compose an email, or SMS, and start typing the name of the contact in the "To:" field, the contact names finally pop up like Windows Mobile Professional!
Internet Explorer now lets you define a homepage, and also zoom in and out using a nice and clean interface
Task Manager now shows CPU usage as a whole, and also lists it by process
Internet Explorer offers 6 zoom modes and copy / paste functionality
IE also uses a new font, which looks worlds better
ActiveSync will now try to automatically configure your Exchange settings once you enter an email address
Wi-Fi indicator in the status bar, just as in Windows Mobile Professional
New "Vista" home screen and theme

Our WM Pro 6 has some of those features already.
We have to wait for MS to put out WM Pro 6.1 first.
slow slow people.. :/
This released update is for windows mobile standard and not pro, alot of people are missing this point (it's mainly for smartphones and not touch screen).
My sources tell me that WM6.1 will be released in 1Q08. Our Kaisers will be one of the first devices to receive this update too. A large part of this will be the integration with Mobile Device Manager 2K8 which was announced at EOM Oct. AT&T was lock-step with Balmer in announcing their support for MDM which is one of the reasons that HTC has prioritized the update (Tilt).
Look out RIM.... MDM provides the centralized security management and OTA provisioning features that have traditionally differentiated WM from BB and so limited WM adoption in US business environments.
Yeah, I think Q1 '08 is the tentative date at the moment although I saw an item somwehere (can't remember where now) that some Motorola phone already has this update at present...

Would be nice to be able to hook up Pocket Outlook to work's Exchange without a VPN, if possible, and work cared.
Threaded SMS, eh? Wonder if Microsoft realizes they're going to need to change their PIM setup to record the timestamp of the SMS when it is received ON THE PHONE, rather than when it is sent through the carrier network. Otherwise, there's going to be plenty of SMS threads completely out of order.
It does

My pocket outlook syncs up with my companies Email without VPN. All you need to do is have you exchange server confirued correctly. It uses push and pull and is extremly easy to use.
There is a video walk through on engagent if you want to see the smart phone version.

.NET CF: Syncing with OutlookSession without opening Outlook

I'm currently working on a program that will trigger Outlook to send/receive new messages on every email box. So far, it's working perfectly, except for one small issue: Every time it syncs, turns the screen on (if it was off) and opens Outlook.
I'd rather have it done in the background, so that the phone's screen doesn't come on and the Outlook inbox doesn't pop up. Is this possible at all? I'm ONLY using OutlookSession to synchronize, nothing else, so I'm interested in any solution you may have.
For reference, I'm using VB.NET with a smart device application targeted towards Windows Mobile 6.0 and .NET Compact Framework 3.5. If you have a C# solution, I don't mind that either, I can translate it.
Thanks!

WM 6.5 Text Messaging Client Lacking Subfolder Support?

I have recently upgraded my Touch HD to RTT'S Leet R5 (WM 6.5) and had to find out the hard way that the messaging client in WM 6.5 doesn't seem to support user-defined subfolders. Text messages backed up with SPB Backup can be restored on the device (well, apparently, at least - see below), however, messages located in user-defined subfolders (in inbox as well as sent items) cannot be accessed.
As for "apparently": PIM Backup does show the additional folders and the number of messages in them, however, the few text messages which still resided in the inbox and haven't been filed away prior to backup don't show up either in the WM 6.5 text messaging client. They do show up briefly in TF3D but disappear as soon as the messaging client is launched.
I'm a bit lost here. The problem doesn't seem to be just the lacking support of user-defined subfolders in the messaging client but something more - after all, why then would even the text messages NOT in subfolders disappear as well?
I'd appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this. The backup file itself is intact.

Changing sms compose to basic in WM 6.5 ppc

Hello,
I've done this before but don't know how once I hard resetted my phone.
How do you change sms compose to the old basic way instead of the new way with "Tap for recipients", etc?
