i've been recently trying out several wm6.5 roms for my phone. all of them were pretty okay. but all of them had the VERY ANNOYING bug on ezinput, that if you type in a letter, which is still marked, and remove it, it will appear again! i've been playing out with ezinput 1.5 cabs... i got one to work, however it takes hours for me to get it installed properly. is there any other way to get this fixed? its so annoying, please help!!
Try a newer version of EZInput. Older versions are not compatible with wm6.5.

I have created my first ROM using Alex's tutorial and after several attempts, there a number of recurring problems that I cannot seem to solve. First, everytime the Kaiser performs a reset, it never starts back and I end up having to do a soft reset. A notable example of this is after windows does the initial customization or when the Kaiser attempts to reset after installing a .cab that requires it. Secondly, the bluetooth explorer never seems to work. I'll tap the icon and I see the wait screen icon but nothing happens. Next, I cannot get two cabs properly configured into package, the Vista Cube (made by Poorly Duck) and the second being HTC Action Screen. The Package Builder gives a registry error for the Vista Cube and a .DHM error for the latter. If it would help, I can post up the exact messages given for the aforementioned programs.

Might be easier to compare your packages with a known good one, or just replace the "broken" one with the working one, if you'd prefer.
I've attached the Bluetooth Explorer and HTC New Action packages from Alex's kitchen below. I've used both and they definitely work. I've also attached the HTC New Action package with the graphics modified to PoorlyDuck's Vista theme, again I've used this and I know it works too.

Thanks, Ill download these and post the results back soon. BTW, is there anything I could do for the problem of the kaiser not wanting to turn back on after it is reset. For example, after windows does the "3 second customization thing" after a fresh install and then resets, my kaiser never turns back on. (I end up having to do a soft reset) I noticed that I never had this problem with the original stock ATT ROM but experience this problem with HTC based ROMs or many cooked ROMs.

There was one ROM released that had a reset-bug which sounds like the one you're referring to - look out for any ROM based on the 3.03 WM6.1 ROM (all others should be OK - such as 3.02 and 3.08).

Upon spending some time analyzing why the Vista Cube wont work, I narrowed it down to the registry file (.rgu) I looked at the errors and pinpointed them down to "Param"="-service """Activesync" and "Param"="-service """SMS". I removed the -service with a "NULL" and the package worked fine. Is there anyway to correct it without changing the paramaters to NULL. The only solution that I could think of was to create the packages using the "NULL" paramater and then after flashing, going into the registry and changing them back to their original settings. But as many others have cooked the Cube into their ROM, I'm sure there's another solution. Can anyone guide me in the right way. Sorry for all the questions X_X
Hi all,
Since I upgraded to the official WM6.1 from HTC my device has become unusable and I need to get help with this.
After I flashed it and when I begin to use it the device dials random numbers like crazy in the phone application and the device becomes almost unresponsive.
I did not have htis problem in WM6.0
I installed a different keyboard layout some time ago, but that should be removed when flashing to 6.1 I suppose.
Any solution to this?

A simple question.
How can one tell what kind of a unit he has, is it WWE or is it ASIA or maybe another, I have bought my unit 2nd hand and since then had problems with the softwares and radio roms.
I have used WWE rom, and I just can not get all my contacts in, I have used ASIA and for a few days all was working fine, till something happens I reset the unit and either data is lost or the radio has no signal etc.
Another question, is it possible to stop the Automatic Customization after a hard reset???
Your help would be much appreciated.
WWE or Asia depends on installed ROM. Type can be Polaris 100 or Polaris 200, AFAIK, and is visible during hard reset.
What ROM are you using now? Looks like trouble with ROM or bad device.

For the moment I am using a cooked rom Khanx 1.6 Pro.
I was really fed up with the Original Rom as I said it was fine for a few days, working smoothly, even backups by SPB were fine, and suddenly one day the unit froze and I had to reset after the rest nothing worked, all data lost.
Even after Hardreseting I was having problems with 'VDDemon' each time, only after re-installing the rom for a few times I was able to go back to working with it.
I mainly use the unit for telephone (ofcourse), mail, notes and sms.
By the way when I enter bootloader, I can see POLA100 MFG, and the SPL-2.20.Olinex, CPLD-2.
And what I meant about the Automatic ..., when you hard reset the unit you get a windows saying that in 3 seconds and automatic instal is beginning, how can one stop this instal????????
So really I am not even having fun with it at all.

Could you try device for few days with "bare" ROM, meaning no other software installed? Maybe it's software incompatibility.
For stoping customization check thread I mentioned, think it's described there. But I might be wrong, it could be some another thread. In any case, I remember reading about it here and a way how it can be stopped.

What do you mean SPL is original HTC?

I am repeatedly facing the following problem.
When a call arrives, the contact pops up on the screen almost immediately, but it takes around 5 or 6 rings from the callers end for me to hear the ring on my phone.
Eg. You call me and i will see your name on my screen but it will seem for you as if i picked your call only after 6 rings, but only then my phone rings!! HELP me a lot of people are complaining that i am not picking the call immediately due to this...
Never faced this problem in wm 6.1 or earlier versions.

I had the same problem. I think it happened when the screen was locked.
It got better after upgrading to a 23001 build.
Which build do you have on your phone?

Weird... I use the same ROM and this is the FIRST ROM where I don't have this problem.
(I tried many 6.5 ROMs before and with all of them I had this Problem)

Hey it aint fair, nobody answers my question anywhere (( If only anyone can answer this.
Maybe it's becoz you are running some software that is not compatible with WM65. Like some builds of MS Voice Command. But you have to sort it out by yourself.
Edit: The way to find problem apps for your ROM:
Backup all your data;
Hard reset;
Install your apps one by one;
Every time after installed a new soft, soft reset, and check the problem occurs or not, if not, install next one, soft reset and check again, until you got the problem occured again.
Then you know it's the last installed app crashes with something. (Maybe not crash with the ROM, but other apps installed before it. To sort this out, you have to change the sequence of cab install and test again. For example, after already know the probs app, hard reset and only install this see what happen.)
What if you did not find it until installed last app? Congratulations, you already solved the problem.
This is the most foolish(time consuming) way, but it works on most cases for probs sorting.
Edit2: BTW, last time when I have similiar probs as yours, by using above-mentioned method, I sorted it out that it was caused by MSVC. (Edit3: Also if my memory is still correct, another badass for WM6.5 maybe the WM6.5 lockscreen,)
What radio are you using? Did you change radios and see if that makes a difference?

i searched the forum and didn't find this problem having been posted. if it already has i apologize. anyhows so here's the deal
i have a nice fuze. i had to hard reset last week. as i was installing the new programs i noticed something, my favorites tab all the sudden dissappeared. so what'd i do? i fired up tf3d config and made sure that the favorites/people tab was checked....sure enuf it was. so i checked in the advanced config program....same thing. so i hard reset again.
the tab showed up again and i went thru installing my programs one by one again. but this time, i waited a day after each program....well guess what....same problem showed up. what i had installed before the glitch:
.net 3.5 (er whatever the newest one is, im pretty sure its 3.5)
advanced config (hadn't tweaked anything yet)
diamond tweak (hadn't tweaked anything yet)
tf3d config (hadn't tweaked anything yet)
galarm
after glaram i noticed it was gone...so i uninstalled galarm...but it didn't fix the problem. so i hard reset again and went thru the same process but stoped after tf3d config...sure enuf a day or so later it dissappeared again :s
so i contined my installs and set everything else up. sure i can live w/out the favorites tab but i like it...so does anyone have any suggestions? (i think i may search the different themes for tf3d that i can install via tf3d config an see if that helps)
i have the stock rom from at&t.

there's plenty of free memory too
