If you just want to know the rate, you can use the stock application.
EURJPY=x gives you the rate from Euro to Yen, JPYPHP=x gives you the rate from Japanese Yen to Philippine Pesos.
But of course that is only the exchange rate, you cannot convert.
I use WorldMate, but that is not a free application.

SPB Traveller will give you currency info, flight details, world time and weather (+more).
It's a paid app but well and truely worth it.

thanks to everyone for the various suggestions.

I use Xchange R8 and is really nice (and good looking)

Handy converter is a nice program

Currency Convertor

I've searched the forums & the internet & now I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction...
I'm looking for a simple program or calculator for WM6, whereby I can have upto 6 custom rates, I need at least 2. We use set rates at the start of each year for the annual price lists. The one on my Nokia N73 phone allows you to name the currency & put a rate in against each one. All I have to do is put $250 in & it shows me the conversion in GBP or EUR against the rate we've set for the year. Internet updated rates would be no good.
It doesn't have to be a currency convertor, just something I can use to convert one figure to another based on my set rates..
This is my first post, please be gentle with me

Welcome to the forum
And why not use your internet mobile browser and enter form there here: http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic
This way you don´t even have to install anything else to your device
Good luck,
I'll have a look at the site afterwards, although, a web based program isn't something I was looking for really. I only get a 1MB a month free data so I use that for essentials, e-mail etc.
Thanks anyway...

[APP] myProfit - would like feedback on my app.

Hi,
I developed an app called "myProfit" that is already on the Android Market as a free ad supported version and a paid Adfree version. Its a financial calculator to figure Profit, margins, markups, price increase, price discounts and for good measure I threw in a tipping calculator.
Its been up for a couple of weeks now and my free version is up to 450 downloads with a active install of 75% and a whooping 6 download for the paid version.
I haven't gotten a lot of feedback on it yet. There has been three ratings one 5 stars, one 2 stars and one 1 star (with one comment of "Ads are annoying"). I use Flurry to track the analytics and out of the active users there is a large percentage that use it multiple times on a regular basis, but of coarse they haven't rated it.
I was wondering if any of you guys could go check it out and see if there are any bugs or issues that I haven't caught. Any advice/constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!!!
I can't post outside links since I'm a new user so to find my app in the Android Market simply search for myProfit. It's the only app that will pop up.
Thanks for the help.
**The images I've attached are slightly different then the current version that is on the Market. Tomorrow I'm release another update to the app and these images are the new screen shots. The only thing that looks different is the calculate button.**
I updated myProfit on the android market, so the above attached images are now correct.
Please let me know any of your thoughts.
Thank you
Kevin
looks well, going in!
Cool!!! I'm excited. Let me know what you think.
Thanks!!
i think its smooth. the ui is kind of boring. looks like the market. good app!
how about adding finance managment? maby a in app purchase feature.
something like the person enters an amount that they have and can add to it or subtract with bank statment style looks. an option to export it would also be cool. also maby even integrate this feature with printershare or sim. apps for printing straight from the device. so much you can do. looks good so far. what do you think?
I really appreciate your input! I like a lot of those ideas. Don't be surprised if you see them implemented in the app down the road.
Thanks for taking the time to check it out!!!

[APP][2.2+] Money Exchange 1.0

Hello Everyone!
I have developed another app for Android (this is my second one) and its called Money Exchange. And as the titles suggests, its about money exchange:
You can get always up-to-date conversion rates of 150+ currencies. Just type-in the amount in the currency you want and the converted amounts will be displayed below (in a list of your "favorites").
Here's the link: Money Exchange on Android Market.
Can anyone please give it a try and give your ideas and suggestions? It will really help me.
Thanks for your support!
PS: (Historical) graphs are still missing (as this is the first version), but its in development and will come out in version 1.1.

[FREE] Currency Exchange Rates – currency converter for Android

Hi folks,
I’ve released a free currency converter for Android called ‘Currency Exchange Rates’ and suggest it for your review.
The application converts to 180 world currencies and precious metals like platinum, palladium, gold and silver. Currency data is downloaded from Yahoo quickly and with minimal traffic. The converter can even work offline by storing the most recent exchange rates. You can change time format, language and currency sorting.
Here’s how it works. For example, if you want to know the equivalent for 200 US dollars in Russian rubles, simply click the dollar panel and enter "55". There’s also a separate window for viewing the conversion of the chosen currency to all added currencies. To open it, simply click the country flag of the desired currency.
Download Currency Exchange Rates here:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=easy.currency.lite
Let me know what you think about the app.
Cheers,
Paul Kataykin

Hi,
I am more interested in how the app will record the transactions as currently most of the financial apps have either Bank Sync or Manual entry and its one of the MAIN differentiate.
It looks like yours is Manual entry one, is that correct? If that is the case are you looking into the option of getting transaction details from SMS/Financial apps notifications, so that the app can populate the amount and other fields into app with user interactions?
I am currently using (PRO member) the app Bluecoins Finance app which can records transactions by reading the notifications from selected sms/app and populates most of the entries. By using this method the app dev is able to cut the cost of sync services and provide users with one-time app purchase instead of subscription service. I strongly recommend to have a look at the app.
I am willing to test your app and provide the feedback. Please PM the code instead of requesting email address, as the email Ids on open forum can be misused.
Thanks for your efforts and sharing.

Thank you for your suggestions.
Yes, our app requires recording expenses manually. But you can predefine items in home widget so that you can add expenses without opening app.

Really like how the screens were done in the Play Store. Was that done by a designer or through use of a screenshot tool generator?

Thanks for the code, I will install and provide you feedback. I think predefined items will not be helpful much as our day to day spending amount is most of the time random.

Hey! I'm willing to try out your app. I'm currently using 1Money, and was wondering if your app supports multiple currencies working together? I'm not able to find tht option. Thanks ✌?

Our app need to pick a default currency. But we have a currency convertor in the calculator. Is this going to help?
Hi. Thanks for your reply.
The currency converter in the app helps to keep everything neatly organized in one currency. That is true. But in some use cases it might be better to have an option to like "Do not convert" as some transaction might be made in a diff currency on a regular basis. N converting back and forth isn't ideal. But that is my 2 cents.
Just as a side note, from what I can see in the app. (Not currently using pro. If you're able to, send me a code in pm haha thanks)
Dark mode is a pro feature. Is it possible to make like a "greyish" colour free as there r many app and users who are able to utilize this. I might sound needy, but even without full dark mode, the grey version could help out when detailing your budget in a dim / dark area.
These are all just my opinions from using the app for a few hrs atm. Will update more ??

Sorry, I forgot and just sent you the code. And thanks for your suggestions. Multiple currency tracking seems to be a nice idea for improvement. I think the reason we set dark mode for pro is because our design team want more user to use the normal color mode for better UI experience. But you are right. We should consider another color combination for dim / dark area use
I really need a good budget app, I'll use it. Send me a code please
