all the new 6.5 Rom require to flash stock rom before use it normally....but I am confuse that wat is stock rom??? is it original 6.5 rom or any others type of rom...sorry for asking noob question...but i really facing problem of understanding...hopefully can get help from anyone who concern...

Hi everyone.
I started this thread, because i rly wanna try to build my own ROM.
I ll base it to O2 German XDA neo ROM and just remove the useless stuff.
As informatik i think i will manage this, just need any person who tells me how to beginn.
Here are my current questions for beginning:
- ROM includes ext rom also?
- How to "backup" my ROM (cause i want to save and need the files to edit them)
- How about OS Rom? I also need to edit it? (dont think so, only wanted to ask
- Wich tools i ll need to edit the ROM (extract/modify/repack)
- Its a G4 model, i need to unlock it before i can backup the roms? (tried with aWizard without unlock, only ext ROM was backuped)
- What else i need to know!?
Would be really nice, if any person who already made a own ROM could give me some start advise/information. Would prefer a German guy, cause its more complicated in a forgein language, but dont have to. Also it would be really nice if he could communicate over ts2, or jus ICQ/MSN etc to me, cause its just faster as over forum.
If i done, i ll write an enlish+german howto thread about this.

ok i cooked my first rom to night, i cooked two roms but my start menus , on programs and settings expands and does not open in the the menus we all love.
i have looked and search for the answer myself but i am down to my last can lager, so i am asking very nice for help how to fix this

Theres no way anyone can help unless you specify:
a) what rom you're cooking with
b) what editing you have done to the rom

i have cooked from alex`s 3.03 WM6.1 ROM.
i have not done any mods yet to the rom as i am still leaning how, one thing at a time thou..
i have just noticed alex uses this menu system in he cooked roms, so i am thinking i need a new rom build base to cook from.
any one know where i can get ?
I don't understand how to tell if the ROM i downloaded, for example: who can i tell that http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=67&act=sd is a WM 6.1 OS without actually flashing it on my kaiser?

First of all, virtually every new rom that has come out in the last few months has been WM6.1. Some of the roms actually say that they are. You can also look the rom versions up in the wiki, and last but not least...you could just ask that question in the thread for the ROM you're looking at.
What you should not do is start a thread like this in the ROM developoment section. I know it's tempting to start threads here because it is the busiest of the Kaiser Forums, but it's very frustrating when new users don't follow the rules here. It's not that we don't understand that people just don't know where to put their question sometimes, it's just frustrating cause all these threads that have nothing to do with rom develoopment clutter this forum and push much more relevant topics back several pages sometimes.
So in the future, please observe the forum policies by reading, searching, and posting in EXISTING threads first. Hope your question is answered completely, and happy flashing!

i did a hardspl and i am using microlabs newest rom and despite what everyone else says its really glitchy and has frozen up soo many times on me and i wanna just use ivanmmj's justme clean rom and install touchflo 2d (if there is even a way to do that). anyway do i need to go back to an orginal tmobile rom or can i just flash another rom over the microlab one? sorry i just dont wanna brick my fone
You can flash over it. Just remember: JustMe requires that you flash through an SD card formatted as FAT32.
Also, installing TouchFLO2D is possible on ANY ROM. (TouchFLO2D itself is VERY buggy, though.)
On a different note: You may get a warning from the MOD for posting this here. Please remember that the Development subforum is to talk about Developing ROMs. Normally, you'd want to post in one of the other Herald subforums.

Hey thanks for the help folks. Just finished flashin Dualtouch Dutty series Awesome. Is there any Way yo get the touch keyboard feature on this rom. Cuz the regular dutty series had it in the message menu.

Firstly, starting new threads in this forum that don't have to do with Rom Development , will not make you very many friends. It really clutters the forum, and frankly it is against the rules.
Secondly, that rom is well over a year old, and Duttythroy is long gone from this forum, off to the HD. So even if you did post the question in the correct place ( the rom thread ) I doubt there would be very many people still using that rom to help you.
Why don't you flash one of the newer roms, faster, flashier, more up to date programs and plenty of people to help.
