I have an Xda running TouchFlo. I downloaded Diamond TF3D Config Setup and used it to modify Touchflo. It's great up to a point in that it lets me remove tabs that I don't use and change the order of the others. What it doesn't do is to allow me to create my own tabs, so that, for example, my diary and to-do lists have their own. Is there a piece of software available that will allow me to do this please?
The other thing that would be useful is a small utility that locks the keys when the stylus is inserted and unlocks them when it's removed - it would be so useful, particularly in conjunction with a very useful program that I use a lot called ListPro.

Two small tools I made for WM5:
NewTray adds a menu with all "New" entries (like the New menu in PPC2000 to WM2003SE) to the system tray. The icon's a small yellow star...
(Sadly, not all entries work fine on all devices, since WM5 has no native New menu, nobody seems to check them. For example, new message doesn't work on P525...)
RemapSoftkeys allows to modify the softkey allocation on the Today screen. It only modifies registry entries, so you don't need to keep it installed after you set your new values...
Both ZIP files contain the PPC executeable, i.e. you have to copy the contained file to the PPC and execute it there. For NewTray, it'd be usefull to create a shortcut in the startup folder. To do this, run the file explorer on your PPC, tap&hold on NewTray.exe, select Copy, then go to \Windows\Startup (or localized name, e.g. \Windows\Autostart for German Windows), right softkey, Edit > Paste shortcut.
I plan to show the menu if NewTray.exe is executed again, so you could open the menu with a softkey, currently this is not possible.

I know that, but it's got a quite different approach. It has its own menu, while I read everything from the registry.
This means, that WM5NewMenu has some better features, like sending SMS to given users, but on the other hand requires more memory, isn't international (labels like "Appointment" are read from the registry, too), and (afaik) doesn't realize new/modified "New" entries (e.g. TextMaker or PocketInformant).
Its a matter of taste and needs what you prefer. Some people wished for s.th. like that in another board, and it was only about half an hour to write it, so here it is...

OK, didn't know of that one. I just read some queries about how to modify the softkeys in the Today screen, and most of the times the answer was either WM5NewMenu or AE buttons. Since it's not too hard to modify a couple of registry entries, I wrote this small tool...

Does anyone know of any software that would allow me to lock 'private' entries such as contacts, calendar, notes, etc...?
I am looking for similar functionality as in PalmPilot PDA's (palm has this by default and can get extra software called TealLock that enhances this feature.
I am not looking for the option to use a pass code to access the PDA/Phone as whole. I know that it is available on all PDA'a.
I want the phone to be open for general entries without a passcode. But require a passcode to see 'private' data and entries.
Also, not looking for software that creates a hidden file. I/we need specific actual enteries in contacts/calendar/notes to be inaccessible to the casual user. The rest of the device can be open/used without a password (or if chosen, to use the regular build-in pda software.
I found one software: PocketPrivacy. Have not had the chance to use it yet. I am surprised that I could not find any other software so far... would appreciate having the option to choose between softwares and functionalities.

Hi Everyone,
I, like many of you, spend way to much time setting phones up over and over again. Since a big part of this is registry edits, I have built a web site that allows you to check off the registry options you want, which it then uses to create a downloadable CAB file to install that will contain all of those registry tweaks. This makes things completely reversible by uninstalling the CAB file.
Notes:
This is Beta. While I have used it, and it's a very basic process, it isn't commercial software by any means.
If you would like to add a new feature, post in this thread.
You may install more than one cab file created with this tool. Just use different names at the bottom of the form.

What's the registry entries for that? Happy to add them, or you can add them yourself now through the site.
What happens if you tweak a registry entry that does not exist on your specific device or rom?
Good question. For the most part, I would guess nothing. If there is nothing on your system looking for the registry entry, then it won't effect anything. That being said, that doesn't mean WM doesn't look for registry entries that aren't there. For instance, the following tweak:
Enable Vision Duration/Disconnect Popup
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\Flags2=16
Flags2 doesn't exist by default on most any WM6 phone. Adding it in, enables the disconnect.
Who added the "Mighty" tweaks? Is that a phone? Many of those seem like they should go in Misc. I might clean that up if those aren't specific to a phone.
Would it be possible to have a wiki of descriptions for each of these options? I know I could Google them one by one but I'm sure users would appreciate a single source.
Hmm, not a bad idea. I wonder if there was a spot on the xda wiki I could use for it since I don't have my own. I may end up integrating a detailed description field for each item with a question mark next to it. Unfortunatly I won't be able to define them all since people have added one's I've never used.
OK I have a request. I don't' so much mind tweaking the settings when I flash. However what does drive me nuts and keeps me from flashing is knowing I will have to reconfigure all my email accounts. I just use the default mail program, but what a pain going through and adding my 7 yes Seven email accounts every time I flash my phone. Is there a way to make a cab that would auto input all my account settings? The reason for so many accounts, is I have personal accounts, business accounts, email list accounts, car club accounts, and forum subscription accounts.
It would be awesome to be able to go to a site, or run an app where I could plunk in all my account settings, then create a cab store it to my SD card and whenever I flash, just run the cab and POOF all my accounts are setup.
Unfortunately, probably wouldn't be easy to make a cab. However, programs like Sprite Backup will do this for you. You can selectively restore your mail using SB, however I generally back up my phone once I get things the way I like it, then if anything goes sour, I hard reset, then restore.
any1 made an ultimate tweak.cab? maybe make your diamond seem as fast as a custom rom?????????????

I suggest a field to make a *.cab regarding to any registry path/setting the user wishes (if the user is more technical).
without having to actually add to the public entry list.
This will allow the ability to:
1. not have to wait for the admin to add the specific entry
2. allows the author of the new *.cab to distribute their new edit on the fly.
3. give the admin to log & analyze the entries in the custom field to and determine more of the common *custom* entries the ppl may want. Thus not having to depend on explicit user input and emails all the time.

Quick question - I had it "enable" GPS coded photos...but I don't think it did? Shouldn't I have an option somewhere in my camera menu to activate this once I've installed the .cab? Additionally, I don't believe "enable landscape pictures" and "sport mode" worked - how do I know?

I upgraded from the “Tilt” to the “Fuze” a couple of months ago. The changes are significant and I’m still learning the new device. I rely heavily on third-party software applications. Getting all of these to operate on the Fuze was a big job but persistence has paid-off. I’m enjoying the new device and I’ve learned a great deal.
One of the issues I battled for a significant amount of time was the incompatibility of several of my third-party applications with the Opera Browser. I have been successful in selecting the IE browser as the default browser on the Fuze. This solved the compatibility issues with third-party programs and I can now utilize all of them………….except one.
I have been using the eSkyguide timetable program for a number of years on two different WM devices (WM2003, and WM6.0 “Tilt”). I travel constantly. This program has been a huge benefit to me over the years and I have grown to rely on it.
I have not been able to get the eSkyguide operational on the Fuze. My specific symptoms with the program are: I am able to open the program. I can see that it was updated 28 February 2009. When I attempt to pull up a schedule, I enter the desired info and click on the red “Search” button. When I do, a thin line is drawn around the bottom of the page which includes the four options buttons. Nothing else happens, and none of the other functions work.
Q: Have any WM6.1 users been able to use eSkyguide? I would appreciate hearing from any WM6.1 users (especially “Fuze” users) who could share any information on this issue. I am wondering if perhaps there is a compatibility issue between eSkyguide and WM6.1. Any information at all would be appreciated. I have been attempting to get help from the developer for over a month. To date they have not provided any real help.
Q: Is there any way to get the “Internet” function on the TouchFLO 3D system to open IE instead of Opera?
Q: Do any of the cooked ROM’s use the IE browser as opposed to Opera? Because of my dependence (well, OK – addiction) to certain third-party software applications, the Opera Browser is not working for me. It wouldn’t bother me to lose it completely, but I would like to be able to access the internet from the TouchFLO 3D system.
Q: I became dependent on the “Task” functionality in previous WM devices. I have made peace with TouchFLO 3D and now very much like the system – it’s a benefit to be able to select all of the different functions so quickly. I miss having the “Tasks” function on the today screen. Are there any custom today screens available that might include this function that are compatible with TouchFLO 3D? This appears to be a simple “real estate” issue. I would gladly give up the huge clock on the present today screen for items more useful. I’ve got a watch.

As everyone who has been trying the new ROM (or even looking at the screen captures) knows, the UI has been changed significantly. Since most of the providers don't plan on making 6.5 backwards compatible, this isn't a major problem for most users. We aren't most users: So THANK YOU to our chefs.
Anyway, there are a number of UI changes. Some I've figured out, some I have questions on. I'd love to keep a running list, if that makes sense. I'm also happy to move this post elsewhere or acknowledge someone else's work. (I did search.)
So, here is my list thus far. I'm happy to have links to additional information on any of these topics.
Touch. The touch-based actions feel much better. (I get the impression from reading XDA and other forums that AT&T limited access to some of these touch actions. With the "cooked" rom's, this goes away.) The faster I slide my finger, the faster the scrolling in long pages or lists of contacts. It's not perfect, as I sometimes find myself intending to scroll and getting a click instead. (This is not different from before.) On the browser (and other apps?), flick-scrolling gives you any angle, rather than strickly up/down or left/right. I would like a tutorial for all the touch actions, though.
Home page. This is quite variable. The default seems to be CHome, which has large text/graphic bars for each element on CHome. I like that each gives underlying status when they are the selected bar, and then you can go into them further of course: email, friends, weather, etc. Many of the CHome apps have a scrolling functionality that give you additional access without having to open the underlying application. CHome is modifiable with a special editor, called CHome Editor and located in various locations, depending on the build. This lets you set which bars show up on the list and where they are located. (It would be nice if this linked to the Today settings editor and visa versa.) As usual, there are many home page options, and one more graphical option is Manila2D / TouchFLO2D (possibly a standard option). It also takes some getting used to.
Start list. Rather than a simple list, this is now the hexagonal grid of icons. I've seen a number of people say this is a direct response to the iPhone icon / application list. While it may be easier to view, I don't like the UI and lack of flexibility here. I keep forgetting where things like the Photo Album are. My current ROM has three different places to find "settings" type of tools, and there is no way (that I can see) to move things between groupings and explicitly set what icons I want where.
Internet Explorer has a much better experience - mostly. It operates full screen, and a double-tap will zoom into a readable area. (I think it actually zooms into an underlying html section, which I find comforting.) I don't understand why IE seems to shut down when I have only OK'd out to the home screen (not closed it). Big question: on a web page with a data entry field, why won't the text entry area scroll with my typing? Other question: Should I use a different browser?
FYI: The keyboard map for function keys is different than the default for the AT&T Tilt. This can be fixed by following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334911
Camera: The camera has never been anything to write home about, but it seems to have gotten worse. I see a thread on the main section for the Kaiser that talks about a new camera app that looks a lot like the one that comes with WM6.5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355587). Question: Is there any chance to improve the the options and operation of the camera?
