Unlocking the HTC S620 - General Topics

I have a HTC S620 that is locked to T-mobile network.
I've purchased the unlock code from T-mobile and I want to unlock my device. But I have 3rd party security software on the phone so when I insert my Vodafone SIM an switch it on the screens flicks between the security software and the unlock code text box.
Is there any way to unlock the device with the T-mobile SIM still in the phone?
I have recently unlocked a Nokia device by inputting the +pw etc and the unlock code.
Is there a sequence I can follow like this for my S620?
Thank you

Please don't double post topics.

AT&T Subsidy Unlock directions

I bought the unlock code for my Fuze online. I do not have a non-AT&T sim and do not want to remove and re-insert my SIM.
Does anyone who's previously received an unlock code from AT&T provide me their instructions on how to apply the unlock code?
In my previous devices AT&T provide me a string of numbers/symbols plus the subsidy unlock code.
Thanks for the help.
the first step is to get the unlock code, easiest is to call them and tell them that you are travelling overseas and will need to use a local provider. you'll also need a sim card from another GSM provider, i don't think there is a way around this. you turn off the phone, then insert the other sim card, then start it, the phone will ask you to provide the unlock code.

I got my Fuze from AT&T before they made the mandatory 'data plan on ALL smartphones' went into effect. I bought my unlock code from eBay. I want to enter the code without having to use a non-AT&T sim card. From various boards it seems like taking the sim out, using a different sim, and then going back to the original sim would somehow tag the smartphone as needing the data plan. So bottom line is that I want to avoid AT&T's bullsh*t data requirements/policies.
On my Nokias I would enter a string of symbols with the unlock code on the dialpad and the phone is unlocked.
I wanted to get the instructions from Fuze users who called into AT&T and got the unlock code. What were the AT&T instructions? Would AT&T tell users to insert a non-AT&T sim just to unlock?
This board has been extremely helpful and I appreciate all the help.

AFAIK, the only reason you can need the unlock code, is to use such phone with another carrier, e.g. t-mobile, or overseas. don't see the relationship between the unlock code and att's new policy
anyway, i think you still have to find a sim card from another carrier to apply the unlock code.
Maybe there's a way to unlock the phone with the unlock code without using another sim card, but I've never heard of it. And what's the point, anyway? If you want to unlock the phone, you clearly want to use another sim card (and presumably have/will have one). I really doubt that unlocking that way is going to alert ATT that you don't have a data plan (how will they know when their sim isn't even in the phone??). You're going to put the other sim card in there sooner or later. This sounds like the type of crap that an ATT rep would say.
The only other way to unlock the phone is with Olipro's unlocker. That does not require another sim card, but it does flash/hack the phone.
Yes. I agree that the line you gave would be AT&T-ish. I'm on the fence right now about switching away from AT&T but have a decent deal via a family plan. I wanted to unlock my Fuze just in case that day came.
Just find someone who's on t-mobile, borrow their card, and get it over with. I unlocked my fuze (non-contract variety) the day I got it and have used it on t-mobile (cheapo pre-paid card) ever since. I also have an Orange UK card that I've used a couple times. ATT hasn't called me yet to tell me I need a data plan, lol.

[Q] how unlock my Trophy(VERIZON)?

Hello everyone:
I am a chinese,I bought a Trophy(Verizon) from Ebay,but it is locking,and I can not use the GSM function.
The I contact sellers on Ebay who can unlock the HTC phone, but they said my phone's IMEI can not be found from htc unlock code's datebase ,so they can't find the unlock code.
It mean the IMEI was Not Found On Database or it is Not Available.
Have any methods can unlock my phone's GSM network?
I hope someone can give me a help.
Best regards.
TKS.
Does the phone not have the option to toggle to GSM mode, or does it just not work? It should be under Settings -> Cellular.
I don't think the Verizon Trophy is even SIM-locked in the first place. At least, not in the usual sense. However, I have heard a rumor that they block it from being used on the USA GSM carriers, T-Mobile (US) and AT&T.
If you're able to take it to a Verizon store, they can probably remove any unlocks on the device. They may or may not be willing to do so for free, but they probably *can*.
Out of curiosity, why in the world buy a predominantly CDMA phone (even if it has a GSM mode in addition) if you're a GSM user? There are plenty of GSM Windows Phones, most of which are arguably better designs too. Verizon users around here hate that the Trophy is the only phone available to them, and I truly sympathize.
when I select the GSM model and put in a SIM card of CMCC,It display:
This SIM card can only be used on specific networks.Contact your customer service center for the unlock code.
So it's should be a GSM network lock.
You only have 2 options first you need to find the way to bring it back to Verizon to unlock the phone but if you're in China right now that probably impossible.
Now the second option is to buy the unlock code on eBay. I have no idea why you phone couldn't unlock did you ask the right seller? Because HTC Trophy actually have 2 version one is European and the other one is US (CDMA and GSM) You may need to try other sellers if you can find them.
I have HTC Trophy Verizon and my brother also has one he went back home and unlock the phone before left US and it works fine with GSM/UMT.

Other carrier SIM with rooted D850?

Is it possible to use other carrier SIM cards with an unlocked D850? I am currently traveling and don't want to pay the usury ATT rates on international data and voice. Bought a SIM from a local carrier but am getting asked for SIM network unlock code. I am assuming that until the bootloader is unlocked there is nothing that can be done about this.
Bootloader lock has nothing to do with sim lock or network lock. In order to sim unlock your device you could go ebay and search after lg g3 unlock code, follow the instructions provided and then you could use any sim, any network you want with your device.
Yup, unlocked for use on other networks and an unlocked bootloader are two completely separate things.
If you need an unlock code, I don't have personal experience, but I have friends who have reported success with imei-unlocker.com

SIM unlock S+

Hi,
Looking in this forum but can't see how to SIM unlock my S+. Phone was locked so I re-flashed with Odin but can't find guide to unlock SIM.
Phone is locked to UK Vodafone.
Can you send me please guide if there is some? Thanks
What is the message your phone displays when you insert a SIM card other than Vodafone UK (ie, a non-accepted SIM card) and try to place a phone call?
If the phone is locked, it will ask you for unlocking codes.
Yes, it's asking for unlock code. I could fix this with odin and some flash on my S7 Edge but how can I do this on S8+?
As far as I know you should buy the unlock code on eBay. Actually it depends on operator (each operator has its own way to lock it). For example Verizon doesn't lock GSM part on the modem for their phones at all. Sometimes remote unlock procedure is required (you will pay to third party and they will do it through the Teamview). The price depends on operator. There are 99% that you will not do it for free by yourself.
There is one chance to do it yourself only if your provider made some calling time lock. For example you have to insert Vodafone SIM card and make a phone call for some 5-10 minutes (but it shlould be done inside the country of phone's origin, UK in your case). Try to ask someone with a same Vodafone UK phone.
You can do it with Odin only if it was not really locked from the beginning but just had some carriers bloat, that was asking for that unlock.
What is exact model of your S8+? What does it says in Bootloader mode?
But actually I could do this with S7 edge. So S8 has some protection?

Based on other operators experience I would say you cannot do it by yourself as usually simple flashing will not unlock the phone. You will really need one of paid methods to unlock it. It is still better to ask someone with a same Vodafone phone. As unlockers on ebay etc. make money with those methods I don't really believe that someone here will tell you how to do that by your own.
There was a thread where the guy was discussing unlock for his Austrian locked phone. Finally he paid twice as first seller sold him some wrong unlock code and phone became network blocked completely. However he bought some "unfreeze" code from different seller and that worked for him. If it would be so easy to unlock operators phones they will never sell them cheaper than unlocked.
Another option is still to perform call with original Verizon UK SIM card for 10 minutes. After that you should reboot your phone and it should be unlocked. If it will not work you can approach Vodafone UK and ask them for unlock code. If there was no any financial issues for that phone and it is registered more than 6 months in the network they should provide you with unlock code for free.
Sorry if I didn't help you too much.

Network unlock by flashing?

Hi,
I have a Sony XA 73111 which is an ex-business phone and therefor EE wont unlock it unless the original account holder requests it. As i'm not in contact with the original account holder my only option is to buy a direct unlock which is about £25 - Would like to avoid this if possible.
My question is, if I unlock the bootloader and flash another rom such as from another network or a generic rom, will this unlock the phone so it can be used on other carriers?
Please note the phone currently works on EE, and has not been blacklisted.
Thanks
You cant unlock without box or unlock code
