Is it possible to get this officially to update a HTC Touch 3g?

As far as I know the only HTC devices that will recieve an official update to 6.5 are from Diamond 2 and Touch Pro 2 in forwards, that means not any older than this ones will be having it.
But I´m sure you´ll find a great cooked ROM by our fantastic Devs here

I won a new touch cruise but am told it was originally from Australia and it still has WM 6.0 on it. I would really love to upgrade to a 6.1 ROM with some nice touchscreen menus, etc but cannto find one that works on either the HTC site or AT&T site. (I am in the US). Can anyone direct me?

hi pal, doesnt matter wheres came from that phone, u can upgrade it to 6.1 rom , there are a lot roms updates in this forum that u can access for free and they have nice screen configurations than original... just look around and read a bit more..

i hope i am posting in the right area. i am interested in buying an HTC HD and i would like too know if it will be compatible with winMo 6.5 & 7. i don't want to buy a phone an stay with the old OS. And also if they will be compatible with the HTC Diamond.

WM6.5 can be ported to any HTC device by the chefs on here
I havn't seen enough info about WM7. MS might be enforcing HW requirements, we'll have to see what they do in the fullness of time...

Hi there, first time post here. I noticed there are all kinds of builds of Windows Mobile 6.5 floating around, and the screenshots look awesome. I just recently got an HTC Ozone and was wondering if there exists yet a 6.5 build for it that can be found. Also, are there mainly the same enhancements on Standard edition phones? I really like what I have seen of the screenshots.
Me too ! Just got the ozone and loving it ... anyone try upgrading it to 6.5? Also would the 6.5 builds for the htc pro or diamond work on the ozone? ozone isn't touchscreen is one thing that makes me think it wont ...

I recently upgraded to a T-Mobile MDA Compact V and having spent a few hours playing around with a customised version of the HTC Touch Diamond2 interface I used the Hard-SPL to flash the ROM with an original ROM, which I would like to add is much better.
I then starting thinking whether it is possible to replace the Windows based OS with the latest version of Andriod packaged with the HTC Hero. The HTC Touch Diamond2 and the HTC Hero appear to have quite a few similarities in terms of specifications so would it really be difficult to install Andriod...???
If any one knows then please enlighten the rest of us.

A lot of people are working on Android ports for WM devices. Having said that, I would wait (unless you are a programmer, someone with the knowledge to do this, or simply an adventurer with high chances of getting an expensive paperweight )
Look in the threads (or Google) for Android port +WM or something like that. Good luck

I'm a little confused I have a German HTC Touch Pro and I asked HTC-support if it is possible to upgrade my WM 6.1 to 6.5 They denied it.
Is it possible?

If You mean original WM6.5 OS, for Raphael, then it isn't possible right now, but...if You use cooked ROM (non-official) then it's possible, HTC support wouldn't recommend You this.
almost all the cooked roms are WM 6.5, the official one won't work but the cooked versions are better anyway imo......
Who wants official rom? only if my tp is broken& i need guarantee ;-)
