falsh and multi touch without Hero - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

Hi,
Is it possible to flash magic to enable multitouch and flash in browser without using one of the Hero ROMs?
The problem with all ROMs they are not stable or fast enough for 32B
Any idea ?

CyanogenMod has multitouch, not too sure how he got it working though. but I'd say yes, it's possible..

Multitouch on CyanogenMod? Not on my CyanogenMod it haven't!!

if you dont want to use rosie you can clear home defaults and use normal launcher, it should speed things up but you wont be able to use htc hero widgets. though flash and all other apps will still works just fine!
settings>application>Manage apps>touch Flo(open it) scroll down and tehn clear defaults...
press home key and choose "home" option

Do you have any preferred ROM in mind? for vodafone of course.

CyanogenMod has multi-touch browser, I'm sure of that . Not too sure about the Magic ports though.

Taking some experience from porting Villain roms,
i decided to make a maxmix based on a new SPRINT LEAK Damagecontroll 2.05, thanks damageless
I stripped it from all, i think at least, sprint stuff,
which is at no use outside sprint network.
It is running on .29 kernel with sanpeis patches, thanks sanpei
It is a GSM rom, but based on CDMA, so it is problem with locals,
i turned on languages, but very little things are translated.
If someone have a sollution on that, please let me know.

live wallpapers works, in launcher or launcher2, you choose it with home switcher...
this FC, is strange it is there but just at the begining... and not always.
any way gonna check it later.
If this includes the Sense UI Launcher.. does That launcher have live wallpapers?

I used the home switcher and still livewallpapers is buggy (for example the grass wallpaper close when the phone is locked)
The force close has appeared in first and second boot about 2 times but its not appearing now
The 3d gallery is awesome and works perfectly (no crashes till now )
wifi works fine
still testing
This rom is very fast
Thanks

It has but livewallpapers only work in the home and nexus launcher
in sense launcher you can only preview them but they won't apply (at least for me).

SenseUI launcher doesn't work with live wallpapers. As robocik said, you MUST use Launcher2(Nexus launcher) or the normal launcher.
Anyway....I also got a FC with this OMADM, but it continued to FC every time I restarted the phone(4 times total from first boot) so I just removed it and it's ok for now. Does anyone even know what is this app and what is it for? I never saw it in any other ROM so far...maybe it's some sprint app? Also what is this Device Self Service app...when I start it, it just closes on me(guess another sprint leftover? ). Also bugs from 5 v04 experimental are still there regarding camera. Still same bug with shutter sound and no possibility to zoom. Still, this rom is BLAZING fast One question tho...is there a possibility to replace this phone.apk with the one in 5 v04 because I liked the darkened theme :$
Hi Robocik,
Great Rom buddy. Fast and no problems with camera til now. The only problem I have is brightness full after close camera. I think is because this rom is based on Droid Eris (who has a light sensor). I turned off the automatic brightness change and now it's ok. Keep doing the good work.
what about htc sync, it works?
Hey all friend here ,
The is base on Legend or hero Browser ?
Because Legend Browser will add the Dictionary check ...
Thank you !!

ben waitin ^^ thanks. Im likin the rc2 from cyanogen at the moment, but hopefully this test3 can somehow make psx more playable on my g1 ^^.
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!! Thank you ben
Lets see how this compares to SuperD...
I will be glad to test this Super F
thanks for sharing
Been a fan since SuperD, unfortunately I am on a nexus one now. Sure wish this was for the Nexus lol.
I have a feeling that this ROM will be at par with SuperD!
I have been using test2 for a while & it has proven to be one heck of a reliable ROM. To begin with SuperF is faster than CM6 RC1. Feels nimble and light overall. Battery life is at par with CM6. Leaving aside few niggling issues such as no spelling suggestions while using Android keyboard , market & launcher crashes (sometimes) everything else just works! Nothing very serious. Can be easily used as a working ROM.
I am sure Test3 will be better than Test2. I will flash once I am back at home. Thanks Ben for such great ROMs!
I'll give it a try
thx ben, download and install.
does this include the CM settings from CM6? JIT, Trackball wake, music controls, etc? Test2 ran wayyy smoother than either RC1 or RC2, but it lacked features so I dipped back to Super-E. Loved the inclusion of Launcher2 instead of ADW (at least I think)
Doing a backup then I'm defiantly trying this one. Thanks!
i'm thinking the simple instructions are
1. wipe everything
2. flash super f + gapps
3. reboot
just installed super F and gapps
i am so excited

I've tried it with DHCP in my HTC Magic, and it works. This evening I'll try it with a static ip, because I'm at work.
until now it works really fine.
it automaticly updated the gapps stuff, it runs smooth and fast.
the reboot thing is no problem i thing.
i love the new launcher, really nice! as said before, i like the launcher2 instead of adw or launcherpro or what ever.
they need more resources than this
i am just installing all my apps now, will place my widgets and see how its running when using games, reading my feed and those all day stuff with my phone. util now, it looks really solid to me !

CM 6.1 or Liberated FR008

I have finally gotten my Aria rooted and running with both Liberated FR008 and CM 6.1. I am looking for people who have tried both and why they decided one or the other. I like the way CM lets you customize the Mod itself but I miss the Sense widgets that the Liberated has on it. I'm hoping that some of you have found things within either Rom that I have not discovered yet to push me in either direction. Thanks for the help.

CM without a doubt. Yea the sense widgets are nice and fancy but to be honest, that's a small sacrifice for complete customizability.

Do you use a Bluetooth headset with your Aria? If so, then CM 6.1 fully implements all of the BT Voice Dialing features that have been added to Froyo 2.2, whereas HTC has not fully implemented all of the BT Voice dialing features. Both of these ROMs will launch the Voice Dialing app by pressing the headset button, however, the Voice Dialing app can apparently be started in BT mode which allows you speak the voice command through the BT headset. On HTC Sense the Voice Dialing app will launch, but it is not running in BT mode, so you have to speak the commands into the phone's mic.
Another thing I noticed is that HTC is not using the Froyo email client which allows for a combined inbox.
Other than that, to each his own. I am running CM 6.1, but I have installed the HTC_IME keyboard; it is the only thing from Sense that I really missed.
They are both excellent roms, but I must agree with the above statements. Especially since CM is coming out with 2.3 for Aria hopefully in the near future.
I liked the sense widgets as well but I was able to fix that craving with beautiful widgets and launcher pro. Life is good on CM 6.1.1. Now if I could just fix my exchange bug that keeps showing up every couple of days...
None. I would choose Liberated R012. Works flawless and it doesn't lag like the Froyo ROM. CM is great but the basic android looks horrible to be honest.
A few things keep me on Sense, even though I really like CM. Last time I ran CM6, it did not have copy/paste in the Email app or the Browser whereas Sense has it. Gingerbread seems to have better text selection, so when that's available for Aria, I'm there!
Also, Gallery 3D does not run well on my phone.
Lockscreen gestures on CM are a pretty huge feature for me... without unlocking the phone, I can draw a heart to call my wife, an H to call home, a C to activate the camera and a V to activate the camcorder. You can use a gesture to do almost anything on the phone, so these are just a few basic examples.
guys I am looking at rooting my phone, but instead of flashing a whole new rom onto it, can I just do the root and have clockwork recovery installed, then can I install just the froyo update ontop of what I already have on my phone?

There is no Froyo update for your phone.
so the froyo rom thats release and is used by attn1 etc isnt that the froyo update? Cause I heard its available in Asia atm.
Also without the update or flashing a new room, but rooting the phone and installing titanium backup etc, I know that I can delete bloatware apps using titanium backup, can I also move apps to sd without having froyo installed but as the phone is rooted, will it allow me to do so?
Thanks again

ATTN is a rom, it is not an update. You have to start from scratch. Also you cannot remove bloatware with Titanium or any other app.
Liberated, but without sense launcher. I love the way sense sync does it's job and keep my contacts updated with their fb and twitter. I know there is ways for this in cm but its not the same. I use launcherpro because sense launcher is kinda laggy.
You will probably get bored sense Widgets after some time. I just like clock and weather widget and there is absolutely the same known as fancy widgets.

I agree that R012 seemed more stable than FR008, and a tad more responsive. However, R012 does not support app2sd so I can't have as much crap on my phone as I do now. I did slim down the FR008 ROM a bit by removing the Mail, MMS, calendar apps, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube as well as most the Sense widgets (you delete them from ATTN1's zip file before flashing).
I have tried CM6, many people have good things to say about it but the UI just seems so... unpolished for lack of better word. Yeah, this is eye candy, but I like the Sense eye candy. Having 7 home screens helps too. Last but not least, for the life of me I cannot figure out how to disable the home screen animation and it annoys me to no end so CM had to go. Credit where credit is due... it does seem very zippy on the Aria.

Lag? Maybe it's because I am using Launcher Pro but my phone moves on both FR008 and CM 6.1.1. Very crisp and very responsive. The only thing that lags for me is the gallery app in CM. Everything in FR008 is butter.

I second launcherpro! I paid for launcherpro and beautiful widgets and I don't miss sense at all. Launcherpro has a nice calendar widget(like sense) and a nice messaging widget as well as some others. Launcherpro is faster than sense for me as well. Beautiful widgets can look just like the sense clock/weather widget but with tons of skins to choose from. Both are worth every penny.

No, you can't. Titanium backup will not do this on nand-locked phones, even with root. Until S-OFF is available for the Aria, it is nand-locked.
The Froyo IS available for the Aria if you have clockwork - just flash LA FR008 or CM6 - soon CM7.

I'm not sure what you mean by "wifi modem," but the WiFi connects and works.
Rotating the Sense home screen is interesting - but when you get back to Portrait, the top of the default clock gets truncated. Very odd.
And the Search button doesn't search. It tries to launch Facebook stuff. I solved this in Salsa by using a button remapper, which works just fine.
I'm not sure what the advantages are of this ROM over the Salsa ROM, other than the screen-off animation and power menu.
I've had decent luck using Salsa - I like Sense. If it were a little snappier, I'd REALLY be happy.
I couldn't access the market, just kept loading forever

Tried Salsa_Fresca_1.2.zip after a clean wipe of the device.
Everything seems to work good, even bluetooth!
The only thing missing in 1.2 is mapping of long press of Search (hardware button) it pulls up facebook even with voice search enabled. and of course Radio was not functional, but at least BT was!
Also is there a method to manually remove facebook completely from this ROM or is it too integrated into Sense for removal?
Keep up the great work!

It doesn't... at least not for me. It's still a hit or miss. Other things that are not working properly:
- Lockscreen: We don't have the applications showing.
- Wi-Fi: Seems like it drops every now and then. Then it reconnects.

FWIW, I've been trying to get a kernel that works for these Salsa ROMs that supports all the accessories that Liberty needs to work with Gingerbread Sense. It's tough because official HTC kernels for the Aria ended at 2.6.32 and Sense Gingerbread seems to need something extra only available in 2.6.35. So far all my attempts have resulted in hangs at boot that hang even before I can get a logcat so I don't have any idea what's failing.
The 2.6.32 kernels work, but they spawn 2 or 3 flushd processes that collectively consume 96% or more of the cpu making them unusable.
I've put this on the back-burner for now but hope to be able to port over the board-liberty kernel files from CM7's kernel to the official Gingerbread Sense 2.6.35 source tree, but it's been an uphill battle.
Bluetooth, Facebook and etc.
As long as I have bluetooth on before I turn on the bluetooth headset, the headset (a motorola HK210) always connects. I always turn off BT on the Phone whenever I am not using it to save batteries. Then I turn it back on before I connect the HK210 while driving etc. So maybe it's turning it off and on that makes it work perfect. Not exactly sure but I have had not issues beyond the initial pairing.
As to removing Facebook and fixing the Search button. I just unzipped the Salsa_Fresca_1.2.zip to a directory. I edited the liberty-keypad.kl file as described by _jfo_. Thank you so much _jfo_. Then I removed Facebook.apk, HtcFacebook.apk, HtcFacebookChat.apk, HtcFacebookChatWidget.apk, and HtcFMRadio.apk (Since Radio was not working anyway.)
Then I rezipped, copied to my microsd card, clean wiped, flashed the zip with Clockworkmod and all is great! BTW I use My Backup App to backup call logs, MMS and SMS to my microSD and then restore them after the flash. Since these are the main things I really need the app has served me well and is well worth $4.99.
As far as the lock screen I would suggest removal of the "rosie_scroll" directory on your microSD card if it is there. I did and then a clean wipe/flash and now lock screen works perfectly. Even pulling the Phone, Mail, Camera and Messages to the ring works. Then pulling the ring up reveals the 9 dots etc like expected.
Thanks to all!
Gene Poole - Hang in there with the kernel thing. In the end polish is worth the time wait.
I figured it was not going to be an easy mission. But keep up the work. In the meantime, BT is bearable as is since I only use it when I talk and drive.
Thanks for your work and devotion Gene.

I have to say: this endless boot thing was the best wath happens to my sensation. i love it.
the only thing i dont like is the gallery from launcher pro.
here is my questen:
Is it possible to have the HTC Sense Gallery on a cyanogenmod rom?

Thanks for answering.
From what I know the "Gallery" isn't from launcher and it's from AOSP itself.
and I don't think so, cause most sense stuff need the sense framework itself. Might be wrong though.
u cant cuz cm7 is asop and the gallery u want work with sense only.... i asked this question before in the mytouch 4g thread, thats the answer i got and its pretty much makes sense! yea i hate the asop gallery also i feel your pain!

i search but i dont find it...
maybe.., is there a gallery application out there looks like the sense gallery?

But why? Isn't cm7 gallery 3d? I can find a 2d gallery for you but I'm not sure if it works. Its from my g1.

Heya..,
First of all. Thanx for echo. and the second: i like quick performance. i dont need 3D animations and some wheird window animations.(sense 3.0 gallery was the best)animations re all disabled. minimalistic as possible. i need speed for my pearl. wanna work with my phone not play. animations and enabled graphical features need resources and i need the resources for my self.
