How to NOT send SMS delivery notification - General Questions and Answers

Hello
I'm interesting if it is possible to set WM6.1 on how to not sent back sms delivery notification.
for example:
when i get a sms, the sender gets delivery notification, i want to disable that, so when i get sms, sender gets nothing (as he had disabled sms delivery notification)
is this doable?
thanks for your replies
bye

No, that's from the operator side, not from the client.

Tried:
Start/ Programs/Messaging/Menu/Options check SMS/MMS Uncheck Request delivery notifications / Ok
yes/ no?

Yes, but this is if I send message to someone i get notification. If i uncheck this i won't receive notifications.
I want in vice versa case, if someone send me message, he DO NOT get notification...

The handset has to confirm receipt of the device to the SMSC of your network otherwise it will keep resending it to you. If the sender has requested a delivery report it is sent by the SMSC when it recieves the confirmation from your phone and not directly from your phone. Whilst it may be technically possible to stop the device sending a delivery confirmation from being sent back to the SMSC, it would result in all your texts coming in repeatedly every 2-5 mins so it would be exceptionally annoying. I'd imagine for this reason nobody's written an application to stop them getting sent.

no delivery reports WM6.1 TREO...

Hi,
i set requesting delivery reports for smss... but nothing returns me when message is delivered... is it normal ... ?
thx
I have the same thing.
Must be a bug with the Palm SMS app that does not make it play nice with my provider. I have found a tedious workaround. When I install Samans SMSDRFIX (do a search) then I do receive delivery reports. However, I receive them TWICE. Plus the popup message. Very annoying. As soon as I uninstall it, no more delivery receipts.
Weird huh.

I thinh I have solved that, palm messaging can't use normal delivery reports, if I enable them in registry, nothing changes but, if I have in settings of palm meddaging to request reports then in outbox folder, when you click on your sent message you will see, delivery report requested or that time when message was delivered not so happy solution but works... if you want normal messaging it looks like we have to use rom without palm messaging only with normal WM Inbox....

Sent vs Delivery notification

I saw the advanced config tool, there's an option to enable/disable 'Sent SMS Notifications' and 'SMS Delivery notification'
What's the difference? And which one should be preferred?
"Sent SMS Notification" is that annoying message that pops up to say your text message has been sent !
"SMS Delivery notification" is I think when you receive a text from your network saying its been delivered.
Disabled both on my phone.

Andrew is correct, first one is pointless, sms delivered can be useful esp when in low signal areas so i always keep mine on, but each to their own!
Hmm. Delivery is much more useful I guess.
I agree but check with your provider the delivery text may be charged for - or come out of your allowance.

Yeah, just checked, it's free.
But those messages are irritating. Is there a way to have the 'Message delivered' messages saved in a different folder/automatically deleted?
Not that I am aware of - it is treated as an incoming message.

SMS Callback Numbers since Tango Update?

Hey guy, cannot find anything but Blackberry users in searches with the same problem affecting them in a bit more painful way, but I was hoping someone may know. Ever since swapping from a Late Mango DFT (8107 rom I believe) on my HTC Arrive to a Tango rom (Asner or Lead Rom), I have recieved Callback Numbers on the end of SMS messaged from people who have that stupid feature turned on, on their phone. Before the rom swap I never got callback numbers (as unless it is coming from a blocked number, it is pretty useless).
Has anyone else run into the same issue after an update and possibly know of a Reg Key or other change to change to possibly fix it? Odd how a Rom swap would change a setting to allow these to be shown now and not before.
*This is for Callback Numbers being recieved from other people. Not all people send them but whatever phones now have it turned on by default will now show the number at the end of every text from them.
Go into messaging settings and there are options on SMS delivery confirmation and MMS delivery and received confirmation. You probably have SMS delivery confirmation on right now

You do realize why I bolded the "Recieved" Part of this peoblem. SMS Deliver Confirmation would only be for Sending messages. (and is turned off either way, both SMS and MMS).
A Delivery Confirmation is in no way the same thing as a Callback Number coming from outside senders.
I have the same problem, my phone is lumia 800c (lumia 800 with CDMA), and only the SMS that gsm user send to me have this problem. It seemed something about CDMA.

Recieve SMS delivery reports on Lollipop

Hello.
I have just updated to Lollipop, but I'm having trouble recieving SMS delivery reports.
I have installed Chomp and Messenger, but when I send an SMS I never recieve a delivery report, even though I have the option checked in both apps.
Is there a setting I am missing in Lollipop to enable this to work?
Thanks
You might need to enable delivery reports in SMS in the Hangouts app.
Thanks for your reply. I've ticked enable delivery reports in Hangouts, but still no reports.
What used to happened when I sent a SMS was a box would come up. no matter what screen I was in to say it had been delivered. This doesn't seem to be appearing.

Double texts sending?

Has anyone had people report to them that text messages send twice sometimes it's not all the time for me but my brother and my partner both reported it to me.
I have tried to unregister and manually register network in network settings. I am on O2 UK. I have tried my sim in a spare phone and haven't had it send a double text yet on that.
Sends double texts on Stock RoM and Leedroid.
Running out of ideas.

I know with mine it happens when using the chat feature in messages, it'll deliver a "rich text message" first, think it wasn't delivered and deliver the same message via "text message". When the chat feature is turned off it doesn't do that. Hope this helps
