Hello.
There's not anything to do about the Loading problem, YET!
I believe it will be fixed later.
Yes, you can use your nandroid backup, i have done that aswell.
First, you need to get this folder from your SD Card onto your c:\Android:
/sdcard/nandroid/(TheDate)/
Copy the files from that folder to your, as i said, C:\Android.
After that, reboot your phone and power it up again using Power On+Back button
On your PC go to commandoprompt and write:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata data.img
fastboot flash boot.img
fastboot reboot
There you go, back to original ROM.

thanx dude you help me alote

I just wrote in commandpromt,
1.cd\android-sdk-windows-1.5_r2\tools (android sdk is here on my computer)
2.fastboot boot recovery-RAv1.1.1G.img
3.Nandroid screen appear(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530492) then i hit to "Restore" and all come back.

[Q] Need to return AT&T/BestBuy "S" to stock...

Hello, newb here (for now)
My nephew rooted my Best Buy Nexus S (AT&T) and installed Cyanogen 7, it works great, but I think I have a defective screen and I need to exchange it at BestBuy. (Screen Flickers/flashes at times)
The kid is gone back home and I need to get back to stock. Here's where I am right now:
- I launch Rom Manager (4.3.3.0) go to "Download ROM" and scroll down to "stock images" and download Nexus S 2.3.3, it downloads.
- Then the "Rom Pre-Installation" screen comes up and I choose all three options (backup, Wipe data/cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache)
- I press "OK" to reboot and get the Google Screen with the lock and it just stays there (I waited about 10 minutes)
- I pulled the battery, power on with VOL up and get to "Fastboot mode" (I think... screen with choices and android character?)
Anyhow, I've tried every option here and i cannot get it to load anything to replace the Cyanogen 7 Mod.
Maybe I need a stock AT&T Image? The one from Rom Manager is wrong?
With all of that said, I'm using a MAC.
Any pointers or suggestions?
Thanks!
I think my issue is that it will not go into recovery mode. When I choose recovery, ut goes to the google screen with the lock at the bottom and never gets past that.
For whatever reason, using ROM Manager to flash a recovery onto the Nexus S makes it disappear. I did this myself and it made the recovery image vanish.
So use fastboot to re-flash the recovery image.
Download this file: http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-4.0.0.2-crespo.img
Rename it to "recovery.img" and copy it into the "platform-tools" folder.
Plug the phone into your PC, and boot it into fastboot. Open a command prompt and move to the platform-tools folder, and type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img."
When it's done, reboot fastboot and when fastboot comes back up, scroll down to recovery and select it. It should boot into ClockworkMod Recovery.
Thanks for the reply!
How do I get to the internal storage on the phone? (I'm on a Mac) Plugging it in, I only see the memory card

Access your phone's memory card from Mac and enter sdcard/ directory. sdcard/ is your internal storage where you should put your ROM, if you decide to flash ROM or any .zip file from CWM's recovery.

[Q] note 10.1 stuck on samsung logo

Hi guys, I need your help. I've got galaxy note 10.1 tab. I stupidly tried flashing cwm through rom manager, even though it wasn't compatible! Now, I'm stuck on the samsung logo when booting up. It is rooted via exynos abuse. Its on stock rom and no custom recovery. I can get to download mode and the android recovery. On top of that, I've been trying to install odin on my computer, but its not working, keep getting Korean message, and when I click ok, the odin window comes up for a split second, then disappears. I really need some help please.
Thanks in advance
Try googling about download mode and fastboot utilite from Android Development Bundle
With this utilite you can try to flash recovery image
Result!!!
Firstly thanks to xxxTy3uKxxx for the prompt reply to my question. It helped me look in the right direction to sort my blunder! In the end I couldn't use the above method because it required to have the tablet in "USB DEBUGGING MODE" which I couldn't do because I couldn't get the damn thing on!
So, now that I've fixed it (if I didn't my missus would have killed me) I wanted to share with all as there doesn't seem to be a lot of solutions around to fix this problem!
From the above post you can see what the problem was, I was only able to get to either download mode or the android stock recovery, and the phone was not booting past the "note 10.1" logo
- I basically had to download the "rootgalaxynote10.1" zip file from rootgalaxynote.com.
- Then, using Odin I flashed the "highonandroidCWMrecoveryGTN8000.tar" file. This gave me custom recovery (you can't flash roms with stock android recovery)
- From here I downloaded a rom for my N8010, and put in on a micro sd card. Put this in the note 10.1, then used custom recovery to flash this rom
NB. I encountered a problem with Odin, and that was I couldn't open it on my lap top! I downloaded numerous files/versions, but no luck. Some forums said to run as administrator or switch off firewall/anti-virus, but nothing worked! I then tried it on a different lap top and VOILA! I don't know why, but it worked on different lap top!
I hope this helps someone out in the future
PS. Hit thanks if I saved your back side
Biggup to u both. Almost thought id lost my tablet after I committed the very same crime

OMG. Thanx for your experience but I have no computer with windows now Are there any ideas how to flash a recovery with Linux?
OK. I've found an alternative to odin called Heimdall and succesfully flashed the Darkman's recovery. However it is not able for some reason to mount the /system and /sdcard partitions (which I'd like to back up first). Any ideas?

Sorry mate, not to familiar with that. Might need one of the more experienced guys to help you out. Good luck:good:
Sorry for writing so late and in such a for dummies manner. I want this thread to be helpful for absolutely everyone who bricked his device like this.
COMPLETE SOLUTION:
First, you can try to flash your ROM (stock roms can be found here. There's another topic with more stock roms but I can't find it) with Heimdall, excluding the data partition to preserve... erm.. your data:
Install Heimdall with its graphical frontend.
Connect your device to your computer via USB cable and put it in download mode (ODIN mode) (Power+VolumeDown).
Open the Heimdall frontend, go to the Utilities tab.
Press Detect device. The device detected radiobutton to the left should be checked.
Under Print PIT check the Local File radiobutton and select where to save your device's partition data to (I named the file n8k.pit) in the browse dialog under it. Then press the Print button.
Now go to the Flash tab. Select the file you just created in the browse dialog under Options/PIT.
unpack the .zip containing your ROM. Then unpack the .tar.md5 that was inside it. You'll get several .img files.
Press the Add button. Select 'SYSTEM' from the Partition Name list. Select the system.img file you just unpacked under File (system.img).
For each entry in the following list, do the previous step, substituting 'SYSTEM' and system.img by:
BOOT and boot.img, respectively;
CACHE and cache.img, respectively
Take a deep breath and press Start.
And then you can go the hard, perverted&interesting way, and that's the way I went.
download this zipfile and unpack it. Find highonandroidCWMrecoveryGTN8000.tar among the unpacked files and unpack that. You'll get a recovery.img file.
download another version of CWM reccovery in an Odin-flashable format, unpack it to get the recovery.img
download PhilZ Touch Recovery for your device in ODIN-flashable format. Unpack and get the recovery.img.
Do steps 1-6 from the instruction above.
Press the Add button. Select 'RECOVERY' from the Partition Name list. Select your recovery.img file under File (recovery.img).
Press the Start button and wait for the operation to finish.
If you did not flash the PhilZ recovery right away, download it in CWM-flashable zip format, put on your SD card, load your new recovery and flash the zip.
Open the recovery, go to Backup and Restore => Custom Backup and Restore => Custom Backup job
Uncheck everything except backup data and optionally backup recovery, then press >> Start Custom Backup Job <<[/color].
Download a ROM of your liking, wipe data&cache, flash it, try it.
If you like it, try to restore data. Get the recovery going, go to Custom Restore job => uncheck all except data => >> Start Custom Restore Job <<[/color] => find your backup => data.ext4.tar) and reboot the device. If it doesn't bootloop, congratulations. If it does, GOTO 8.
Remember to hit the [:good:Thanks] button if this guide has saved yer arse.

Probably I can help you:
1. Go to recovery
2. Plug your phone to your PC (USB)
3. I am using TWRP 2.6.3.0, for me on the homescreen I have a "Mount" button, click it, and press mount usb storage.
4. After a while you will see your phone internal memory plugged in as an USB disk.
5. Download any ROM you want, make sure that you are downloading ROM for your device (There is 2 types of HTC One S, Ville and VilleC2)
Perform a factory reset in recovery
6. Flash the ROM (press install and select the ZIP file) (Do not reboot! Stay in recovery)
7. On your PC create a folder called "fastboot" on C drive
8. Download the file from the attachment, and extract the 4 files from it to the folder which you created before
9. Still on your PC... open the ROM (ZIP file), and you probably have a boot.img file in it.
10. Extract the boot.img to "fastboot" folder
11. On your phone now... In recovery select "Reboot" and select Bootloader
12. Your phone will now reboot to bootloader, you will probably see FASTBOOT USB
13. open cmd
14. In cmd write this:
Code:
cd/
cd fastboot
fastboot flash boot boot.img
After it says "Completed!" write:
fastboot reboot
15. Your phone will reboot and probably it will work
PS: Sorry for my bad english
EDIT: Hope you have already updated your phone to Jelly Bean....
Because if you was still on Ice Cream Sandwich then JellyBean ROMs will probably not work

Nexus 5 - Enable Usb debugging mode from Fastboot ?

Hi guys,
Sorry to bother you with that but i have an issue with my Nexus 5 and i wanted to have more information about a " solution " i found on the web.
So First, my phone got a problem with the power button (on the motherboard). I managed to find a repair shop doing that kind of repair.
Now's the real problem !
The phone won't go further than the " Google " logo.
I can access Fastboot mode but not recovery mode.
The phone is not root, official stock rom, bootloader locked, usb debugging mode : OFF.
I find something on the web but it seems the guy who write it down skipped some steps. And i'm a total noob at that so i don't understand how he managed to do what he described.
Here's the link :
(Ok so i can't post link since it's my first post.... so i will C/P his method here)
METHOD :
Things you will need
Download the Stock ROM for your device- Just Google it, I am dam sure you can find it.
Download SuperSU from UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip
UPDATE-SuperSU-V1.65.zip contains :
Superuser boot permission manager.
Update script (important) etc.
Basic Knowledge of C++ or Java
Notepad++
WinRAR
Steps to Enable USB Debugging Using Recovery Mode
Unzip the stock rom.
Within the extracted folder you will find system.img well extract it too using Ext4 Unpacker
Also extract the Update-SuperSU.v1.65.zip file.
Now open the folder where you have extracted the system.img files
Grab any .apk file from this folder and change the extension from .apk to .zip
And Copy the RSA Certificated to the Update-SuperSU.v1.65 folder (delete previous files if exist)
Also copy the build.prop to the system folder located within Update-SuperSU.v1.65 folder
Located the update-script file within this folder and edit it using Notepad++
You need to update the build.prop file after adding the following line at the bottom
persist.service.adb.enable=1
Next step is updating SQLite Database
Which can be done by adding following code to update-script file
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db "UPDATE global SET value=1 WHERE name='adb_enabled'"
Cheers! You have Enabled USB Debugging
Now you can install your custom or stock rom using ADB – USB Debugging.
So basically, i wanted to know if the " solution " was possible to achieve or if the guy is plain dope, so i can backup my personal data before doing a factory reset.
Or if there's another way to backup my data.
Ah ! When i plug my phone on my PC, it isn't recognised as a Nexus 5 but as a Android Interface Bootloader (or something like that).
Sorry for the long post !
Hi, I understand what you're trying to do but I think this is not possible. The tutorial you've find on the web seems pointless to me because it just say you to customize some system files of a stock rom downloaded from google repo without saying to flash anything (or maybe this is what I understood).
Anyway I'm sorry but the only solution to this is to unlock the bootloader and flash a new system image, of course if this is a softbrick.
Have you already repair the power button? And how the phone get stucked on the logo image, bootloop or just freezed?
Hi
Thank you for replying !
The power Burton is repaired.
And to answer your question, it just freeze.
The phone turns on, "Google" logo appears and it stays that way, and after waiting a few minutes it automatically reboot and freeze again when "Google" logo shows again
In my opinion this could be a softbrick caused by something, I don't see any way out exept flashing something new. Fastboot doesn't require usb debugging enabled to work properly but unlock the bootloader means wipe all your data.
Probably your recovery has gone o something is corrupted in the system startup sequence.
You could wait for someone that can help you in another way that I don't know I'm sorry.
Well, i think i will wait and continue to search until this weekend.
Anyway ! Thank you for answering me, that was very kind
Was there anything that could have been the cause if the bootloop? Have you tried wiping /cache & /data from the recovery? If not try booting into stock recovery and preforming a factory reset. Google: "how to open nexus 5 stock recovery" android.gs has good instructions on booting into recovery. After following those instructions navigate to factory reset, press the power button, then hold the up volume button. If this doesn't work then you'll have to unlock your bootloader. But I won't get into that now. Good luck.
FYI: Don't bother with the instructions outlined in your post, they don't pertain to your situation.
Also, I can't post links as this was my first time posting here.
Hi SuBAtomicFlux,
Like i said, i can't access stock recovery, when i'm at the step where the Android robot shows a red warning sign, nothing happens when i do the key combo to enter into the Stock Recovery Mode and after a few seconds, the phone reboots by itself.
But thank you for trying to help me !

[xt1920-15] [pettyl] stock firmware rooted latest ota updates fixed + 'badkey' fix

Just for the record, Motorola phones and normally quick and easy to ROOT however this is been a right pain in the ass. No guide on here has worked properly for the UK version anyway so soon after I found a working way i thought i would do this to help anyone else....
Requirements:
unlocked bootloader
THIS ZIP FILE
extract the files and open a cmd prompt in the ADB folder or run a cmd and us 'cd C:\adb\' [or location of the unzipped adb folder]
run 'fastboot boot recovery.img'
backup the cache partition so it creates the TWRP>BACKUPS>SERIAL>ROM folder
copy the rooted rom folder to TWRP>BACKUPS>SERIAL>*here* [ please note serial stands for the serial number of device and this will vary with each person]
hit restore, system + data + boot,
when finished reboot to recovery
you are now in the stock recovery so hold the power button and tap volume down to unlock the menu then you want to wipe data factory and just use data AND NOT the personalised content as well..
then reboot
do the initial set up.
then perform 2/3 system updates [security patches i believe? from the system settings > updates]
when all this is complete, afterwards click on magisk manager and let it update. It will then give you a warning error saying the version of magisk too old.
so power off your phone and then put it back into bootloader. [hold power + vol down from a powered off state]
use fastboot boot twrp_james.img [from cmd promt inside adb folder]
when the recovery loads in the same cmd prompt type adb push Magisk-v18.1.zip /sdcard/ [or u can just copy the zip file onto the storage if it shows up on ur pc]
install magisk 18.1 and then reboot to boot loader and use fastboot flash logo logo1.bin to remove bad key error
have been in a mad rush to get this done before i go work hopefully you can understand if there are any problems just msg me

BACKUP MIRROR OF FILE [MEGA]
Hi there, im unable to backup the cache partition (showing as 0mb in cwm) think it may have something to do with encryption.
I have my phone in a somewhat usable state by restoring cwm backup i found on xda, but when booting custom recovery it will not mount /cache ,/data etc
Would love to follow your instructions, do you have any ideas
links are dead
I have unlocked the bootloader and flashed TWRP on this phone to root.
i have not found a live link for any LineageOS or other custom rom, but root still works on stock rom.
i have saved all the necessary files on my PC so if you need help just reply or message me
