Syncing Calendar + Todo info Windows Mobile 6 with .ical file. - General Questions and Answers

I store all my PIM data for Calendar and Todo in a .ical file on a remote server owned by me. My PIM application suite on my computer (not a Mac, I don't use iCal) is able to sync with this file and it's incredibly convenient for me to use.
However I would very much like to be able to sync Windows Mobile 6 with this so I can edit/view it on the go. Does anybody know if this is possible? If it isn't possible to sync it directly to a remote server I do not mind manually synchronising it too.

Bump.
If this is not possible using the built-in calendar and todo application does anybody know/recommend a calendar + todo suite that can sync with a remotely hosted ical? Through FTP would be good. I don't mind a one-way sync (server -> phone).
Or if that isn't possible either, what about an import service?

Export contacts list to PC?

Is there any way to export the win2003 contact list to a PC application? It seems that the addressbook is corrupt as I cannot filter by #ab / cde / etc.
Bart
Try Jeyo Mobile Companion (it's not free, but works pretty well) - I use it to back up all my Outlook-related stuff (contacts, SMSes, call lists), works a treat. Don't know how robustly it handles corrupted- or partially-corrupted data hives, but you could always give it a go.
If you manage to Sync the device properly with Outlook on your PC, it always copies all your contacts to your address book on the computer anyway...
I actually do not use Outlook and -Express (but Thunderbird) and I am also looking for a way to import the data. From my PC I am more easily able to update the addressbook.

Synchronizing the calendar + tasks

Hello!
I've been struggling in order to get some effective way of synchronizing my calendar and tasks between palmtop, laptop and computer. I don't use outlook at all so Microsoft Exchange was rejected at the very beginning.
Later on I thought about Google Calendar but it does not include tasks.
Finally I decided to create an account on server which would host my calendar. It is in the iCalendar format -> *.ics. I can easily synchronize with it on my laptop and PC as the calendar is modified directly online from Mozilla Sunbird (both computers have always access to the Internet). I like this idea.
Now the time came to get my palmtop (HTC Touch Cruise) synchronize with this server. The problem is that I will not be able to keep it online all the time so I would like to have some really intelligent option enabling me to synchronize my calendar and tasks. Any suggestions highly appreciated.
Best regards,
Theriel

Cloud mobile sync ?

Hi,
Like lots of people, I synchronize my PPC with Outlook on my computer currently (I don't have exchange, I am privat person only).
But has serious limitations:
1/ I would like to be able to edit my calendar events on any PC via Internet and have the calendar event being updated on my PPC
2/ When I use my web site email account, I would like to have my contact list being in sync with my PPC so that I have all the email address of my contacts up to date.
How have you solved this problems?
I have heard about cloud mobile sync, it looks interesting. I have seen MyPhone, Funambol, Dashwire, ... looks nice but will it solve the point 2/ ?
I am ready to change my email provider
Otherwise I have seen Google Sync for Windows Mobile, it does seem to solve 2/.
Have you already used it ?
When using Google Sync, do you still sync with MS Outlook ? If yes, how ?
Regards, Chris

Thunderbird calendars (Lightning) and Android

Since I got my new ATRIX, I tried to get my calenders from Thunderbird (Ubuntu) working on my Android smartphone.
- Up to now I could not find any working solution for me. Even applications for Windows (running in a virtual machine) I tried. -
Please Help !
What I want to do ? Sounds very easy and probably the solution is the same for Linux, Windoz and Macintoy.
-> I have several calenders (private, office, visitors, ...) local (!) on my computer saved as ics files.
An example : file:///media/daten/.../Email/lightning/calendar/Privat.ics
These calendars I want to copy on my smartphone and to use them (import ?) in an calendar application. I do not want to use any cloud, google calender construction. Just copy (may be convert) and use. Even synchronisation is not necessary, because the changes mainly I do on my notebook. As I said sounds easy, but it seemed not to be easy.
I have no idea how the other Thunderbird users manage to use their local calendars on the smartphone. Or am I the last "not-cloud" user ;-)
I use the plugin "Zindus" to sync my adress book from thunderbird.
To sync the calendars, i have them setup on google and connect to them from thunderbird.
So you could import your calender .ics files into google kalendar, which will be synced to your device and to which you can connect TB also.
I use this...

Hi,
What is the best app to sync Note 8 to windows 8.1 with wireless connection to be able syncing contacts, calendar and files.
Personally I don't recommend using cloud storage so I need to transfer my data from PC to tablet and vice versa
Thank you
for files BitTorrent Sync is the best and most secure
Try Davdroid with a custom cal server like Owncloud.
